After US-South Korea FTA, there will be no custom duty on American cars. However, Korean customers must pay large amount of tax on huge cars. It is not only on foreign cars. Hyundai and Kia are also in the same situation. The unfair thing is that American car makers are not capable to make great small cars.

Ford at least looks to be better off than either Chrysler or GM who may soon be in a chapter 11 situation. Where I work we are having some difficulty getting GM parts, but that may be due to 'restructuring' & the loss of some local outlets. I am not the least amused by ads that ride the coattails of american icons, rather than stand on thier own merits.

The Genesis is one hell of a car, but the Mustang is just what it is... An icon! Hyundai knows that which is why they've put so much effort into the Genesis Coupe. Right now the Genesis is really impressive, but once Ford brings out the Mustang with Eco-Boost I can see the genesis easily falling off the charts. :(

The Genesis had some problems with the ECU cutting off power during fast shifts. It would cut the power by 3.5 seconds. Later, hyundai addressed the issue by recalibrating it to 0.1 seconds. In Edmunds's tests, it lowered the 0-60 times by 0.5 seconds.

Motor Trend recorded a 5.0 0-60 time for the mustang. Genesis did it in 5.5. So factor in the reflash ECU, then you've met your match Mustang.

Yep. Although the Mustang is 6 inches longer it feels more agile and planted on the road, which translates to more steering liveliness. The mustang is more fun, agile and faster, but it's still more refined. As Motor Trend said, the Genesis is the car you take to the prom, the Mustang is the car you take to the reunion.
