Sedda's skills are definitely impressive but I really DON'T like listening to his vocals because he always takes them over the top. Yes, we get that he has whistle skills ranging up to the highest reaches of male voice but putting them in every song out there? Come on, Sedda...
He doing notes is near the 15000hz (i used a spectrum analisis), so, it's very high and he is doing ultra sounds, but, the fundamental note IS NOT a ultra sound. And, the youtube quality isn't enoght to reproduce a note over the 20000 hz and the human ear can't listen to that... so...
Ok great. Let us hear you sing a song. I'm a professional singer and I think using head voice is ok sometimes, but a whistle register is just screetching out a sound.
Well the really high stuff is airy and well judging this being airy I can do this easy although maybe not as good but I don't count it because I can't sing with it and it's not a proper whistle register I'm using although his early whistle notes I can't do.
the definition of singing is elongated notes produced by the voice as well as if you can produce a note with out singing it it can actually eventually be sung with so he might as well have an 8.5 octave range cuz he produces those sounds in song

@PandaPandaKai Prove it and post a video then. This is actually not easy for all of those thinking he is just screeching. This does take time to learn the proper way to do it. So don't just blow smoke out of your asses by saying it's a "fail" or it's so easy, actually post a video if you think so.
@actor616 hahahaha oookaay, so he trained in shrieking really loudly. big deal, it still sucks :) and yeah, I'd be happy to make a video, except I don't have anything to prove to you hahaha dude, get a life and stop being a pretentious prick who is just jealous he can't go above a G. :) Georgia Brown sounds better than this guy.
@PandaPandaKai I don't see how I'm being a pretentious prick. However I do appreciate your comment on my other video. haha. I can go above a G though, just not in chest. If you check out my "Little Bit of Good" video, I go up to a C#6 at the end. Not a fantastic sounding C#6 but it still has somewhat good tone. haha :)
Super distorted once you get beyond that D8 or so in non-musical notes. Whatever audio recording device was used, I can assure you it wasn't made to capture those high notes without harmonic distortion.
Highly reccomend to listen to his songs. He doesn't use the full 8.5 octaves, but more than 5 octaves, and that is actually impressive. The songs are not good anyway and the singing can improve a lot, now is like an athlete of voice (a very good one if not the best).
@JayRebel sounds are notes, and this is legit, how many people can make their voice go that high? it just sounds stupid because no one actually incorporates octaves that high into their singing.
@JayRebel You're probably talking about the singing range! Vocal range means all the sounds produced by the human voice! Anyways, he has a wide singing range also, and he can hold some long notes! :)
@rekoonsghjkl she admitted it in aninterview i saw on youtube i qoute '' 5 in the norm but a 6 on a good day''lol and im not spending my time to find it u find it ur self if u want to here it so bad and im not being rude but i dont spend my days on youtube.
@travaris18 well maybe she has but there's no recordings of this range. Lots of singers have a few more notes in their range but if we have no recordings of her full range then she can only claim but thanks for the reply. There was a guy who claimed to have 12.5 octaves but there's no recording of this range so we can't say he had the biggest range.
@travaris18 5 in normal are you saying without whistle she has 5 no way my friend she has 5 G#2-G#7. The upper 6th octave and 7th are whistle register. I'm sure she can go higher and lower but there's no recordings.
@whatchamacallitful I can understand you taking issue with the sound. It is producing an actual note (so is breaking glass, etc.) in that is vibrating at a distinguishable frequency. It is certainly not in tune like his high notes are. Still, a very impressive feat for any singer.
@SuperDaveOkie Though I certainly agree what he is doing is impressive, I really wouldn't classify him as a singer or his production as singing except when he is phonating within his normal singing registers (which is does during the middle of this recording for several seconds). In my opinion, a strobass crackly low production is not what I consider true singing nor is the sound he manages to produce in the upper extremes of human hearing. However, it seems like an interesting party trick.
Sounds like an excellent example of false cord function to my ears. Check out more information about what that means on David Jones' website voiceteacher (dot) com. His article on Whistle Register defines the results of long term usage of that part of the voice.
@theoperagoddess Oh good grief. Not the false cord stuff all over again. Absolutely not true. The consensus among vocal experts is that the Vestibular Cords are not used for phonation at all. The most cited source in favor of this theory comes from taking Leonardo Fuks out of context. However, the source used is preceded by "The underlying mechanism has not been clearly explained. This raises the question whether structures other than the vocal folds could play the role of an oscillator."
@SuperDaveOkie Making generalized statements such as "consensus among vocal experts" without citing any of them is not exactly sufficient proof to make a claim that false fold function is non-existent. I would be interested in which experts to which you are referring as I am doing serious study of this issue at present while examining the "Whistle Register".
@theoperagoddess I will be happy to try to produce what I do have on the matter. Richard Miller and Berton Coffin come to mind, but since you're studying the matter, I'll try to be a bit more concise in days to come. I am also very interested in this as a research subject. However, it should be noted that I have been unable to find another source in favor of the "false fold theory." I would be very interested in exchanging our sources.
Whistle is very usefull if you can do it,because mariah carey use it to wooooh the audience and amaze his/her viewer with her super high notes the people stand ovation to him and a loud clap, but i can also produce high note higher than georgia brown G#8 and considered G10,my D9 will considered i think if guinness invite me to impress theme C11,even i cant control it but i think that is impressive.Come on view my video
This A9 is fake,he only hit B7 in his true whistle, the A9 is came from the whistle for the horse to distruct the consintration of a horse and using in war,the true high notes is in my video and i'm hitting C#8,A8,B8,D9 live with no fake sound and i can do also E9-A9 in my mp3 recorder but unable to convert in video so its not to be played here.
A lot of the notes sound weak. The low notes don't sound sustainable as if they could actually be sung that low and sound good. It all sounded a little... empty, like there wasn't enough support behind them for good tone.
Hmm, there is a clear break in the range that he seems to avoid.
Everyone should remember that no-one says a large range makes a good singer. Its just a curiosity, probably just born with that sort of a voice box. Obviously, it is not evolutionary very favorable, thus its just an anomaly.
guys, hitting A9 is normal lol...we even produce it without us knowing it..A9 note is like when u r breathing in cold wheather+ u r having a flu/ cough...
well i'm even more sad to say this is complete bullshit... heard the video again and realized the first low notes are fry... SO, WE MAY HEAR LIKE 1/2 OF AN ACTUAL OCTAVE IN HIS FULL VOICE... The rest are just noises that are mostly unusable for singing anything that could sound any pretty. He does the following : Fry, then just a few ugly of chest voice, then ugly falsetto and then ugly whistle... bad for him
mmm... if he could just sing... i'm more impressed with the first low notes than the highest, it's just whistle and even I can sing like that (learned when i got a cold). But as you can see, its not connected to his (still ugly) falsetto and doesnt sound any pretty at all. Only useful as a final scream in a metal song, nothing more.
Yeah is real but the vocal estension is really so important? I don't think so. Is the way you use it, like teach Demetrio Stratos (that had a great estension too)
It's just utilizing the 4 ranges - 2 of which aren't used during regular singing. He starts in what is called the Vocal Fry register (which sounds like a creeky door) and goes all the way up to his Damp register which is contracting the vocal chords to such an extent that even the smallest amount of airflow creates a sound... like a guitar chord - the tighter you pull it the higher the tone get. Hurray for being a vocal music major. I feel like such a nerd for knowing this stuff.
I don't think supersonic pitches count. There is no way to verify. Remember that Guinness only used a piano and an observant with perfect pitch to verify. And with an A9, the piano is beaten by one full octave and a major sixth, and I doubt that any human can distinguish between pitches at those frequencies.
me....... can reach a G1 note lowest note, in highest chest voice G5, in highest mixed voice Bb5/B5, in highest Falsetto note B5, and my highest whistle note was Bb7........ too difficult 4 a man to reach this note so i was so shock that nicola sedda can reach an E9 note or even an a9 one!!!!!
Has he his balls cut?

Freedomslave31 1 year ago

These sounds you refer to were made vocally.
"making sounds" like this depends on octave range.
Sounds have octaves regardless of whether you perceive them to be sung.
Singing can be considered "just making sounds", since that term is so indefinite.

I'm sorry... 0:46 and onwards sounds more like he's whistling..not like hes using his larynx .I swear to god i can hear air going out not vocals...

me....... can reach a G1 note lowest note, in highest chest voice G5, in highest mixed voice Bb5/B5, in highest Falsetto note B5, and my highest whistle note was Bb7........ too difficult 4 a man to reach this note so i was so shock that nicola sedda can reach an E9 note or even an a9 one!!!!!
