  • Awesome! Great job. Now just invent a Lego Technic synchromesh and we're good to go.

  • OMG it has an optical illusion from 0:25 to 0:49 that broke my brain at first few moments. It seems that the gears on the second rod from left rotating in different directions

  • awasome man

  • Wait, this isn't Momma Peals pie time.

  • Congratulations! You've invented a gearbox! Now it's time for you to invent a wheel !!!!

  • MOTHER OF GOD

  • how did i get here from quad go pro vids

  • HOW THE FUDGE DID I GET HERE FROM EDDSWORLD???!!!

  • I do not know how I got here

  • it sounds like an electric dildo on bateries.. XD

  • where can you buy the lego gears?

  • when i was little i was FASCINATED with this stuff!!

    nice work! :D

  • lego technic motors are easier to place than mindstorms :(

  • i love lego... and more so now for seeing things like this....

  • rubbish you have no turbo or anything

  • its easy 45+54/6*67%0=898%(776)=98

  • @CxBattalCx ???

  • ow...my head xD...this look confusing

  • SWEET!!!!!!

  • good idea for teach! THanks alot! ^^ very easy understand about transmission when I see your clip!

  • Speed to power and power to speed mmm... I think these is used with cars power first to make a momentum then when its right change to speed

  • Very nice, I wanted to build something like that but I couldnt make it...

  • thanks for the transmission design inspiration... now I just need some actual figures.

  • how do you have so many small parts in the background

  • It's almost same as this /watch?v=xISN9U56yBY only more complicated.

  • yes at simple view anybody can see is 3 speed, haha of course, you need to be at least a doctor in mechanic engineer or to be swiss to just see this nice mess of gears and understand what is the relation between each gear.

  • LOL, I remember my 8880 supercar had a 4 speed in it!!!!

  • As has been said several times, there are only 3 possible output speeds. If you look, the gear ratios are the same between both lever changes. Therefor lever 1 position 1 + lever 2 position 1 = lever 1 position 2 + lever 2 position 2.

  • now i want my mom to bring my old lego to me at university

  • I made exactly same principle gearbox from lego about 20 years ago :D ...only difference was that i have only 3 shift and reverse, and one stick only

  • Thats cool man !

  • 15 gears, 3 speeds. It could be done with 4 to 6 gears... Smaller box, lower cost, less parts to break, lower noise, less torque loss...

  • Aww, Look at how organized he is! :)

  • Why 2 sticks you should improve your gearbox and get only one stick

  • Hate to break it to u but technicly its only 3 speed

But nice job all the same

  • @wolgran20 2 stick with 2 positions each. 2x2=4. 4 speeds

  • @edwardmusaev yes your right 2 x 2 = 4, however...

Ok so you have 4 positions A B C and D. A) both sticks up obviously 1:1 ratio, B) left up right down lets say 1:4 ratio C) left down right up 4:1 ratio D) both down 1:1, but wait why is it a 1:1 ratio there different size gears as both being up?

because the speed gained by the gears on the right is equivalent to the speed lost on the left, hence 1 turn input = 1 turn output or a 1:1 ratio.

  • @wolgran20

    Yeah, man you right!

  • @wolgran20 hahaha "technicly"

  • @wolgran20 Um…no, that's 4 speed… 2 main speeds (stick by motor) multiplied by 2 sub speeds, (the farthest stick).. Now, unless my preschool math is failing me.. that's 4

Think of a bike, and it's 2 sets of gears.

  • @Fluvance yes but 2 of those gear combinations are identical ratios hence 3 speed

  • @wolgran20 Lever 1 position A, lever 2 positions A, B.

    Lever 1 Position B, Lever 2 positions A, B.

    4 different speeds achievable, 4 speed trans...lol

    Nice try bro...lol

    (Selections: STOP - SPD1 - SPD2 - SPD3 - SPD4.)

  • @RzBusterCB87 Maybe two of them are the same? ;) Look closely at the setup

  • @wolgran20 how is it 3 speed please explain to me

  • @dilster97 Its explained above ^^

sure there is 4 stick positions but there is only 3 different gear ratios because 2 of the positions have the same ratios

  • @wolgran20 wrong, 2 levers w/ 2 positions.

    2x2=4

your math must be fucked up

  • @geekymgee he's talking about the gear speed ratio, not math. if you only get 3 ratios for the 4 different gear combos it is only a 3 speed since 2 ratio are the same, it's like how a transmission in your car work.

now I don't know if the gear set gives him 4 ratio or not, but regardless of how many gear combos he has, the amount of ratios he can produce is his gear speed

  • @lordlong up up

    down down

    down up

    up down

all four of these have a different ratio, however slight they may be, and thus he has four speeds, regardless of difference in mph

  • Cool !

  • MUY BIEN, AHORA DEBERIAS INTENTAR LOS CAMBIOS EN AUTOMATICO

  • Thats stupid

  • @ssugawara1955 Hello, are the all parts in the right up corner in the video, is it a set? If it is, which?

  • add wheels :)

  • what set do you get to make this? I realize this is a original design, i just need to know what set comes with the gears and all

  • I wanna make one

  • awesome.
