How would they know it's you? Unless you do a lot of Friend Battles...
If they can't deal with it, honestly, that's just too bad! There are ALWAYS ways to counter a strategy. The primary way to avoid being flinched, for example, is to remain faster than your opponent.
Sorry to hear about the Hate Emails. Flinching-strategies are not anything I would consider indecent to do. Ubers,OHKO and all pokemon sleeping... allright, but flinching is a stretgy like everything else, if one can't use combos, this game would become alot more shallow in my opinion. Which would be boring.
About the battle, love how you make use of "inferior choices" of Pokémon WhiteKhakis. Alsom I have a flinching Noctowl, no Serene Grace but decent anyhow with agility and Air-Slash. ^^
Oh that stinks, I was so looking forward to seeing Pikachu, maybe a first strike attacking move? This is the second time I've seen Focus Sash used against you, just a word of advice
Pikachu was made to go with Huntail's Rain Dance. Surf and Thunder while holding a Light Ball are her main attacks. She also knows Light Screen, and still has the useless move (in her case) Volt Tackle.
hahaha it may be a bit cheap but if the uber/OU people start complaining they shouldnt...they should disgrace themselves for having their palkia/etc be beaten by a dunsparce! lol
The Dunsparce? If you are curious, I originally had him holding Metrenome because I thought he'd be using Headbutt many times in a row (and because of his tail looking like one). Turns out he does, but the bonus to attack was so low, I swapped it out for Leftovers.
Quite a good match, old chap! I was surprised by that Earthquake too - never seen that on a Sceptile before. This guy knows what he's doing. Now to watch round 2!
Remember when I had to kick myself for using Swords Dance and thus allowing good ol' Bonk to Headbutt me to oblivion? The big difference here is that while I was greedy, this case it would have been a necessary last-ditch effort.
Incidentally, it turns out that key difference between your Seviper and my brother's is that his is Atk-based and uses Poison Jab in place of Sludge Bomb. I'm always amazed at the sheer versatility of Seviper.
You said "round one"...there's more to come? I hope so.
Seviper can go either way, attack-wise; he has 100 base in each. I've forgotten why I chose special, but I'll tell you that Flamethrower really helps me out against the steel types!
Round Two was uploaded simultaneously - check out the "Video Response".
Actually, that was a good choice on his part, I thought. If he hadn't boosted his attack, he may have got a hit in, but it wouldn't have KO'd me (and I'd have healed back with leftovers/Roost). This way, one hit probably would do it.

Is there an item that makes you always hit your target?

is that pikachu shiny?
pokemonbrawladdict 3 years ago
Nah, it's the Surfing Pikachu that you unlock after beating Single Player Mode.
WhiteKhakis 3 years ago
yeah, well from the picture on the battle pass, i thought it was shiny( the pikachu looked a bit orange to me...).

Most certainly. (or laughing)

i lold at the flinch hax
kylepwndyou 3 years ago
Very unlucky that he couldn't get his attack in. Dunsparce is fairly hardy though, so there still was a slim chance at survival.
WhiteKhakis 3 years ago
Dunsparce was gorgeous!
I loved the fight, it's a pity, that this pokemon is always underestimated :O
0psYchi0 3 years ago 2
It's rather weak (and slow), so people understandably brush it off.
WhiteKhakis 3 years ago
Nice Dunsparce. I never thought it could be that good but I was wrong!!!!
Absolsrock 3 years ago
Any Pokemon if used properly (and often with a little luck) can be quite dangerous!
Unfortunately, there honestly ARE better choices than Dunsparce. Togekiss, for one.
WhiteKhakis 3 years ago
Only if it was using a move that normally doesn't cause flinching!
Meaning: Headbutt, Rockslide, Bite - NO.
WhiteKhakis 4 years ago
Is Baton pass better than switching your pokemon normally.
Dragonite43 4 years ago
I don't remember if it was used in this fight, but Baton Pass basically lets you keep all stat changes when you switch pokemon.
So, if you boost your attack with your first pokemon, then use Baton Pass, the pokemon that switches in will have the increased attack.

Props to both players for using interesting pokemon.
:D

Thanks, although I doubt if the Japanese player will ever read this.

that dunsparce is the work of the devil! i would cry if i battled you and that happened to me
McProPikez 4 years ago
Oh, I wouldn't want that to happen! That'd unsettle me, sorta like how battlers use a war cry to increase their morale while spooking the other army.
Good thing PBR doesn't have voice chat!

Actually i have a togekiss with a flinchset and people hate it. I have actually gotten Hate Emails. =(

Nice thing about Uber pokemon you meet online, is that usually it's an inexperienced kid behind it.
I don't purposefully choose weak pokemon, just those that I like (And chances are, it'll be one I don't see every other battle!).
Every pokemon has a fighting chance if you know how to use it! (Luck helps, too)

Oh, it hasn't come out in the U.K. yet?

That dunsparce lol. Flinched to the bones and a paralyse. Hehe i tought u wouldnt win this.
ejinathan 4 years ago
Yup. 66% chance of flinching if he goes first, and a 25% chance of the opponent being fully paralyzed, if paralyzed.

have u ever won a battle

Yes, I guess they just turn out to be more boring than the losses I have! I'll try to mix it up a bit more in future.

I treat Dunsparce as a wild-card of sorts - he makes a surprisingly good starter as well!
