The word shekinah does not appear anywhere in the KJV. The entity known as shekinah is the female form in Michael Angelo's painting of the Sistine Chapel ceiling that the 'God the father' has his arm around. Check image for yourself online.
This raises the question which trinity Micael Angelo actually painted.
The Shekinah Glory of God left the temple in Ezekiel's day, it did not return in that form again, the Glory of God did fall in the form of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, and so God dwells within His people, who are called by His name and whom He has written His laws on their hearts and not tablets of stone any longer.

Thats not true. Read up on the Azusa St Revival. There are public records showing that the fire department was called on more than one occasion because people said the building was on fire. Of Course it was not but there were flames coming from heaven. Also there are people who said that during the azusa st. revival meetings, the shekinah glory cloud was present and almost tangible. It can be used in a regular since as in Gen. 26:2 when God told Isaac to "dwell" in the land of Canaan. But it is also used of God's presence dwelling among his people as in Exo. 24:16. So "Shekinah" glory is the effect of God's manifest presence as he "shakans", settles down upon, dwells with his people :)

It is translated as to dwell, settle, tabernacle, reside, etc. So when you see those words in the Old Testament, chances are they are translations of the word "shakan" into English. I agree with you, we have to ask the Holy Spirit to help us to understand the Word and apply it.
