  • Toooooo much damn oil!!, that was easy

  • The problem is not Husqvarna but yes the piece of shit engines that Brig & Stratton does. I have two Husqvarna machines (with) Husqvarna engines and never had problem with them!

  • That is very likely to be a cracked block. In the past, Ive seen cracks in the cylinder wall of the block which both lets oil into the combustion chamber causing the smoke and causes oil to spew from the outside of the engine as well. Your best bet would be to launch this chunk of shit through the plate glass window of the nearest Husqvarna dealer.

  • you ether over filled it with oil. or tipped the lawn mower over on it side. that will make it smoke like a bitch like that as well.

  • Too much oil in the fuel. My 2-stroke scooter did the same when I misread the oil to gas ratio and added too much oil.

  • Too much damn oil

  • There's too much oil injected into the piston therefore the gas:oil ratio of your engine is incorrect

  • it runs fine tho just mower the damn grass and ignore the smoke and if it keeps running low on oil dont fill it. Just let it die

  • similar engine on mah leaf blower and i have the same prob. havent had a chance to tear into it yet...

  • blown head gasket

  • had the same engine , ended up snapping the crank in less than two years, just mowing what the ride on couldn't

  • Maybe a really bad head gasket.

  • Check your oil first and ensure it's at the proper level. Read the markings on your dipper!

  • That shop is trying to pull one over on you bud. You either over-filled the oil or the mower was laid over/tipped to the point you filled the cylinder with oil. Pull the spark plug and pull the starter rope a few times to clear the oil, drain your carb bowl and fill with fresh gas. Get a new air cleaner cause yours is plugged with oil now. Start the mower and let it run for several minutes. It's going to smoke god awful until the oil is burned out of the muffler, but it will clear up.

  • did u put desil fuel in it or gas mixed with oil

  • You have to much you dumbass

  • Finally good camera quality thank you random person

  • Or perhaps you just over filled the motor with oil... either way you have to try to get the oil out of the combustion chamber.... Blow it out of the spark plug hole, then replace the spark plug and run until it clears out. Afterward make sure you replace your spak plug to get the best performance out of the motor....

  • Did you til the motor by any chance? If so then you have displaced oil in your combustion chamber... Once the oil is removed it will run fine. You can remove the spark plug and pull the rope a bunch of times to try to blow it out of the spark plug hole but overall it will still have to be ran until it quits smoking. It takes a while... Also make sure that you have adequate oil in your motor as measured by your dipstick, a little low is better than over.

  • Any particular reasom why you are still using that engine??

That engine-type is almost older than me (i am 32) and i have never seen this before. My bet is the crank-ventilation or way too much oil in the crank-case.

  • how much oil do you normally put in it? id bet my left nut you filled it all the way up

  • husqvarnas are accually good

  • I created this video in order to document that in less than a year my Husqvarna mower stopped working. I sent the video to their warranty department. They referred me to a service center that did NOT fix it. They left it out in the rain and said that the problem was that it was a Husqvarna. In short, the warranty was pathetic and I couldn't get it repaired.

  • @31squeaky that's the most lame excuse a shop can give... only the deck is husqvarna, the motor is briggs from what I see. so if there's even remotely anyone to blame, it would be briggs.

you should immediately write to briggs stating what the mechanic said.

this looks like either like shot rings or a vacuum problem. how and where was the mower stored at your house (position/orientation, climate, temperature)?

  • @31squeaky For cleaning the mower, you should not turn them, because the motoroil gets into burning

  • this lawnmower was on its side, then someone started it right after, thats why all the oil is coming out of the air filter, and carburetor.

  • @ismokewead420, I'll take that money as a cashiers check! It worked during the first half of the mowing and then stopped during the second half. It is most likely a blown seal. The problem is that Husqvarna didn't fix the problem. It should have been covered under warranty. We would gladly take this video down if Husqvarna was to fix the problem. In fact, that was why I put the video on Youtube- so I could send a link to them so they could see what was happening.

  • il bet you 1000 dollars some dumbshit filled the oil up to the top of the fill tube

  • Fucking Husqvarna... idiotic return and customer service... >:((((( I alway use Craftman, Poulan, and Brigg-Stratton. But I do admit that I have a Honda GSX150 motor on my go-cart.

  • Drain oil till at fill level. Done.

  • Briggs engines are the best, and no foreign product is even close to an American Briggs. Are you sure that you didn't have either too much or too little oil? Either of these conditions could cause a seal failure and blow oil everywhere. These engines don't screw up like this, especially when they're new, unless you have too little oil and burn up seals, or blow by the seals from adding too much oil.

  • you opened the headers? that's why the gasket's broken.

  • Now, I'm just guessing, but I think you might have put to much oil in it, because I did the same thing to my John Deere, and the same thing happened! I think that's what's happening.

  • Its the briggs and straton engine. they absolutely suck

  • @TheWeakness12 They do not suck, you retard. Briggs Quantum engines are great, I've got several and they have never failed. Old Briggs Classic and Sprint engines are just as good. You, sir, are a moron.

  • @meccaturbo Well how about a nice 18.5hp briggs engine. We had one in our cub cadet. It blows the head gasket every 2 years. We've replaced it for the 4th time now. But either way i win because now i have an amazing Kubota 23hp diesel engine that will run circles around any briggs. You sir, need to get educated.

  • @TheWeakness12 You're the uneducated one...to say Briggs "absolutely suck" based on your ONE experience with a bad Briggs shows just what an uneducated retard you are. You should go take a engine mechanic's 101 class, since obviously you don't know dick about small engines.

  • @TheWeakness12

Briggs and Stratton engines are the best small engines in the world. They are still American made, while Hondas and the so-called Japanese engines are made in countries like Thailand. I've used countless Briggs engines that are a minimum of 20 years old, and they run like they are new. If you didn't add oil, you should have, only to fill range on dipstick. It should have said on the mower that it was not full. You blew seals from too little oil-too much friction and heat.

  • @neila486 Actually the engine has a very poor design leaving about a 4 inch gap between the bolts on the head. This leaves a huge surface area for the gasket to blow. Every time we have replaced the gasket, the rip has been in the exact same place. And no, there was enough oil in the engine, because i perform regular oil changes and i check the oil weekly. It was always in the crosshatch section of the dipstick, therefore, i had enough oil. Briggs can not make an engine for their lives.

  • dumbest video ever!!

  • Too much oil in it, drain the oil, and put the right amount in.

Like a car you are supposed to change the oil after 25 uses.

  • Looks like a blown head gasket.

  • eh at least there saws are kick ass

  • u put way to much fuel in that 's y its like that.

  • husqvarna is beast just keep ur oil changed and you probally had a cracked crank case

  • your burning oil

  • it looks like the rings have broken and the valve seals as well

  • I wish I saw this video before I purchased a Husqvarna, I got the 7021p from sears. I have not received it yet but its too late to cancel, I have a Husqvarna blower and trimmer and have never had a probelm.

  • @chargillernoob your fine The one you bought has a honda GCV 160 which is a little better than the Briggs and Stratton engine in this video. Husqvarna like all other OPE manufactures today just make the mower but they buy engines from companies like Honda, Kohler and Briggs and Stratton.

  • It seems to be that oil might be leaking up threw the piston and leakin out ur carb and exhast if thats the case you have probly cracked the piston rings inside and ur slowly scatching the cylinder wall so id get a new lawnmower if i was you but if its not that well then ur screwed

  • This was less than a year old when mine started doing this.... I didn't add oil. It clearly appears to have been a breached seal. DO NOT buy a Husqvarna unless you want to have problems with it.

I thought it would have been covered under warranty but the shop the manufacturer had me take it to (the original went of business for some odd reason...) didn't repair it. They said the problem was that I had bought a Husqvarna... LOL they have issues.

  • @31squeaky Thats a Briggs and Stratton engine on that Husqvarna lawn mower. Your problem is with Briggs and Stratton NOT Husqvarna. Almost every lower end lawn mower comes with that engine. They are very common and very cheaply made, But they will last if taken care of. But let me ask you this did you put the mower on its side at all? Because the only thing that can cause smoke like that is a worn cylinder or and air filter soaked with oil.

  • @workensmart I did this to my old B&S. I turned it on the side, and the oil soaked the air filter, petrol leaked into the oil as well. After changing all the fluids, and washing the oil out of the filter with clean petrol it served me more than 8 years.

  • @Jetbrowse yep. everyone does that with either the Hondas or the B&S engines. They are not the best engines out there but they will last.

  • @31squeaky If you didn't add oil to it, then it was your fault it broke... It's amazing that it's worked for a year without oil then

  • mine just started this, I bought mine used however. *sigh

  • Hey i have the same problem but it clears after it warms up ! You know the old saying beggars cant be choosers.

  • probly its your falt . yuo put in to much oil ( 0.6l go in no more no less) or you put it vrtical on one of the sides to check the blade. you CANT do that becouse its a 4stroke engien without oil pomp. only safe position for that kind of engien is to lift the front

  • U might have to much oil in it i did that once only alot more oil came out the exust

  • husqvarna is an awesome brand i've owned several and have fixed a few but overall a good mower. its just your specific engine and its only a head gasket you can order a new on and do it yourself for cheap quit being lazy and fix it lol jk but really its a simple fix

  • looks like way to much oil or bad piston rings. I would try a oil change first it should take no morfe than half a quart of sae30

  • we got almost the same mower and it hardly starts. when it does, it runs pretty good.

smokes a bit but doesent hold a prime. i got the key start and everything.

only used it about 5 times. total pos.

i think i might try one with the honda or maby the kohler

  • It's a Briggs and Stratton engine no wonder you're having problems!

  • Comment removed

  • Well, its probably not the fact that its a husky, but its more likely the engine.

  • @MrTwostrokenut

very good point a difrent company is the engien and difrent is the mover you buy two products after all engien and the mover. you could get one with the honda engien if you would like to

  • Briggs+Stratton make good motors. Toro, Lawnboy, MTD, etc.. use the same motor as your Husqvarna, so maybe its something wrong with that specific engine.

I hear you about warranty. It's such a dirty word now because no one honors it. I currently have 3 Stihl machines (1 year old, one's brand new) in the shop for carb cleaning and shakings and they have the nerve to charge me.

  • head gasket

  • hey, AT LEAST IT AINT A TECUMSEH!!

  • LOL, Briggs and Stratton, ones with Kohler engines are beast!

  • I was hoping Husqvarna was monitoring social media... but they appear not to care what customers think. I even sent a link of this video to them when I asked them to repair the machine under warranty.

  • well squeaky if its less than a year old than theplace were you bought it should fix it under warranty unless its not a manafactry defect. than its some thing you done too the mower . all in all i sell hundreds of mowers, trimmers chainsaws etc. with very little or no trouble .i sell them and never see them again. if my customers have problems i fix them no charge unless its not the machines fault.or its past the warranty.sorry you had the trouble.

  • @stephenvillecb iI just read what you said about the 200 dollar charge to fix it under warranty. that aload of crap these guys are rip off artists call husq directly and report them no body should take that crap

  • @stephenvillecb they went out of business. Husqvarna referred us to another company. The other company said, "the problem is because you bought a Husqvarna."

We had to call them back to find out the seals were blown and they could fix it for $200. We asked them to confirm it with Husqvarna because it was under warranty and not a problem that we caused.

They never called us back but left machine outside for months. At a minimum, Husqvarna should have qualified their partners better.

  • @31squeaky

You could then have taken your situation to court.

  • im sorry to hear you sold it, this same fault occurs faily regularly, it just a case of working out how the oil got to where it is ! sometimes its simply too much oil in the engine.. i know this is gonna sound crazy but you dindn't accidently put the fuel in the oil filler did you? it's just you say this suddenly started happening after you filled up the fuel?

i know its gone now but i wish you had of checked the oil level just so we would know ps briggs and stratton are great engines

  • DO NOT buy a Husqvarna-- YOU WILL BE SORRY!

In the same year that I bought this mower, it started smoking. The dealer that sold it to me went out of business. I called the manufacturer and they gave me the name of a company that repairs them. It was supposed to be under warranty.

The repair shop left the machine outside for 9 months and didn't fix it. I finally picked it up. They said that the problem with the mower was that it was a Husqvarna. They recommended a Honda or a Toro.

  • oil is getting into the combustion process -

1 check the oil level - it may be overfilled !!

2 has the machine been tipped over or onto it's side? it may have oil in the fuel tank.

    it's prob a simple fix

  • @axemanbri No, I didn't turn it on its side. It just started smoking. I've been told that Husqvarna is not worth the money. I believe them based on my experience. PLUS, when I called them, they gave me the name of a shop that didn't want to do the warranty repair so it sat there for 9 months. I am deeply disappointed with the poor quality of Husqvarna.

  • You tipped it over to work on it with the exhaust pipe down. When that happens, the oil goes past the intake valve and gets into the combustion chamber.

  • @JDK0316191 i did that now mine wont start any ideas on what i should do ?

  • @JDK0316191 I didn't tip my mower up and it started smoking. I would NEVER buy a Husqvarna and I tell everyone I know to avoid them.

Husqvarna could have fixed the problem but when I called them to have it repaired under warranty, they gave me the name of a repair shop that didn't want to repair it. It sat there for 9 months before I picked it up and sold it on Craigslist for $40.

  • @JDK0316191 Nope. I didn't tip it at all. I sold it for $40 last week since I wasn't able to get it repaired.

  • The rings inside have worn out . It is cheaper to just get another lawn mower than to fix this problem

  • @meanyist It was a brand new mower... less than a year old when I made this video. DO NOT BUY HUSQVARNA unless you plan on replacing it with a quality brand.

  • That has a cracked piston ..

  • @ding0925 rong if it did it wouldnt run !!! dont just come on here and asume your a mechanic

  • im a husq mechanic change air filter and check oil level .also try running with out air filter to see if it clears up.

  • @stephenvillecb I sold it for $40 because the "repair" shop that Husqvarna told me to take it to said that they couldn't fix it unless we paid them $200. It was less than a year old so I said NO WAY. Now I'm telling everyone to avoid Husqvarna.

I bet you're a busy man with the crap that Husqvarna makes.

  • i hate to say this but you got burned

maybe you should have gotten a toro

or honda , honda is the best if your gonna back your yard!

    they last forever

my grampa has his since i was 4 , i am 18 now

    about 14 years!!!

  • @crammage I totally agree! AVOID HUSQVARNA because the quality is TERRIBLE! I wish I had bought a Toro or a Honda.

  • we got tha same mower, get that fixed man those rock!

  • my mtd lawn mower does this to what should i do it only does it when i play with the govenor

  • either that or the oil ring is stuck, i had that happen with a Briggs engine on a virticut before. It aventually loosened up again though and worked fine after that.. you should spray a little bit of penetrating oil into the cylinder, just take the spark plug out and spray a little wd40 in there, see if that makes a difference.. Once you get the smoking to stop be sure to change your plug.. its going to be fouled.

  • this is less than 1 year old. The problem is that the company I purchased it from is out of business.

  • that's just it. It worked fine for the first half of the lawn. Then it started doing this after I added gas. It seems like it blew a gasket.

  • nope didn't blow no gasket try valve breather its pushing oil into the carb making it burn and spill out the side of it i would know this because these lawnmowers have this problem

  • @walkingfreak I wish I had known that before I bought it. I tried to get Husqvarna to repair it within the first year under warranty but the repair shop they sent me to said they couldn't do it unless I paid them $200. The moral of the story: Buy a Honda or a Toro and at all costs DON'T BUY A HUSQVARNA!

  • @31squeaky toro uses briggs and stratton also

  • @31squeaky unless its overfull with oil, i'd say its rooted

  • @mick3618 I didn't add oil and it started smoking. AVOID HUSQVARNA is all I can say.

  • too mutch oil in the motor
