There is a more pronounced sound from a bass when a pick is used which is really nice when you want to tighten up the sound for rock and metal playing.

I used to hate it but then I discovered that in some cases, picks give a good tone for metal. I've started to use a pick for some heavy stuff, but stick to fingers for everything else.

with a pick u are extremely limited to wat u can do on a bass.for example, with fingers u can slap and pop; with a pick all u can do is, well, pick.imo a bass just sounds better with fingers, but this guy is quite impressive

It's actually not the bands tabs, music, ect. because when you sign with a label they own the music, tabs, lyrics, ect. so theres nothing really you can do about and you they would drop you from the label if you were putting that everywhere ...
