Yes, this was a fantastic series. My only complaint about it is how it ends. Having everything magically revert to a happy ending for no apparent reason, other than that Tomoya did good deeds for everyone, and all of his good deeds made everything right again without explanation really left a bad taste in my mouth.
I understand the concepts of karma, and in many ways agree with it, but karma works within the tapestry to change things. It doesn't change the tapestry itself....
@darkridr25 It is explained though throughout the series. The orbs grant wishes if you collect enough. Through him helping people, more orbs appeared and one day an orb flew into him. His daughter watched it go inside him. When she died he must've wished it that he had his family back, so the orb granted his wish and reversed time to the point where she Nagisa was giving birth, but instead she stayed alive using the power of the orbs that they had collected/created from helping others.

I looked into the visual novel and discovered the information about those orbs there, but even after re-watching the series two times the only time I ever noticed anything about any orbs in the anime was at the very end when everything reverted to its prior state. Even then it wasn't really explained very well.
Perhaps if it were described in more detail, like a narrator explaining it in the background or something, it would have worked better. I just don't know.

I can't agree with people saying this series brings sadness. For me, it's the opposite. When I finished watching the whole series, I became aware of something that this world could never give, or lack. I thought, there's a magic behind Clannad, that there's a touch of something heavenly or miraculous. Think of me as weird, I don't care. Clannad gave me true happiness, strength, and forgiveness, something that other series, either anime or drama, doesn't have. To its creators, thank you so much.

i love this soundtrack ! i love this anime, and both fits together. it's really wonderful, it is my favourite anime, so funny and sad really dramatic, i hope there are more animes like clannad (and clannad after story)

I think of all themes in Clannad, this one symbolises the overall tone of it the best. A calming mix of pain, nostalgia and sorrow...it's beautiful...

@MyReminiscence urgh... Hunter x Hunter (not the 2011), Death Note, Dot Hack: Sign, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Full Metal Alchemist, Chobits... The list goes on and on. But since you love touchy touchy anime i'd recomend Kaiji and Aka Chan To Boku.

This anime is the BEST anime of all time hands down. Im a guy but which guy wouldnt pretty much almost burst into tears during the depressing moments containing Nagisa and Ushio (not gonna spoil anything in case ppl dont know what happened in the show). I watched this show 18 months ago and i still get a little misty-eyed when this song is playing or anything from Clannad is on. This show is especially meaningful and was well done compared to any other anime out there! Clannad FTW!
I finished Clannad, and LOVED it. Im a guy, and nearly cried at least 5 times, but i didnt. This anime is without a doubt one of the most moving, most heart warming, and also sad pieces of art man has ever created. I recently started Air, and Kanon. Both seem to be really good, but in the end, i just have to stick with Clannad. Its in a league of its own. From the music, to the art, to all the loveable characters, Clannad is an anime that will stay with me forever.

@CreatorBurden Just got done watching Air and Kanon. Key does a fantastic job with their animes. I especially like the references between all 3 of those anime. The peach juice reference is great if you (or anyone else for that matter) caught them.

Just finished the After story, and I cried. Key did an amazing job with this one, the voice actors were amazing as well. the last tie i cried with tears and all, was 7 years ago at my grandmothers wedding...i'm male and 23. like i told my sisters this is one anime everyone should watch
When I watched the first episode for the first time, I thought this was going to be a typical school-like anime with alot of boring fillers.. but I have to say, not a one was, and looking back on the first episode makes me tear up :')
The very first thing that happened in Clannad; Tomoya's monologue. First time watching it, you might think it's not too important. But as you've finished the whole series... you think back to what he said in that first episode... and smile.
I cried the second (and last) time I watched the series, and I'm 20 (male). I probably didn't cry first time because what I lived after that changed my point of view towards situations like these. But I'm planning to keep watching Clannad over and over and keep crying like the baby I am and always will be.

This song has litterally been my favorite song for 4 years straight... when I was in school during happy days and more so frustrating days where I thought I would totally lose it, this song has helped me to keep my peace. I like the whole clannad series and I watch it once a year and it never gets old. This is one of the few animes that have helped me to stay in control of myself and learn something really valuable. I can say clannad saved me in and out of Highschool...

Why is it that this song gives me the strangest feeling of nostalgia? The first time I watched the series was only two years ago.
It's because this series alone caused a transitional period, and not only that, was written so well that I truly felt the flow of time. Instead of feeling the twenty minutes in real time, I felt a five year change at points. Now the first episode seems nostalgic...that's my view anyway...

based off a visual novel, it's about a delinquent who meets a shy girl and they work together to rebuild the schools drama club.
but the anime goes way beyond this^
Has lots of emotion and i really recommend you to watch it. I really recommend you watch it.

Just finished the After story, and I cried. Key did an amazing job with this one, the voice actors were amazing as well. the last tie i cried with tears and all, was 7 years ago at my grandmothers wedding...i'm male and 23. like i told my sisters this is one anime everyone should watch

Why is it that this song gives me the strangest feeling of nostalgia? The first time I watched the series was only two years ago.
It's because this series alone caused a transitional period, and not only that, was written so well that I truly felt the flow of time. Instead of feeling the twenty minutes in real time, I felt a five year change at points. Now the first episode seems nostalgic...that's my view anyway...
