  • Annie looks beautiful in her soft red wispy hair and the red ballgown that would be reused for the cello sequence in the Sweet Dreams video. She described her In the Garden look as Germanic which makes sense since (hmmm two homonyms....) they recorded it in Cologne Germany!

  • Lov it

  • Its funny how "In the Garden" wasnt really released here until after "Sweet Dreams" became a huge hit. So those of us in The US were unaware of it

  • The guys from Can and beautiful Annie, wow!

  • Wow, I didn't know there was a video for this either!

I love the album (In The Garden), really reminds me of Ladytron.

    The album still sounds fresh.

    Thanks for uploading this!

  • LOVE THIS

  • thanks for sharing this

  • 'I shed more tears for you than the ocean'

  • annie is so beautiful

  • It would've been interesting if the boys from CAN had done more with them, I love the feel of this. Annie's voice is softer and i prefer it.

  • Música é como um bálsamo nos momentos ruins!

Mas chega atá a ajudar a gente a manter o moral alto nos bons momentos!

  • i just love annies short reddish hair i got her hair cut

  • Annie just kicks ass.

  • this reminds me alot of a scene in the Derrick Jarman film"jubilee",and also in the vid to" sweet dreams" where Annie turns the globe with her orange cropped hair is very like a scene from "Jubilee" also involving Toyah.

  • I just can't find a place to be near you...

  • A well crafted video, well ahead of its time - and I mean, not just for the 1981 standard. Some of the water snapshots were later used in their "Sweet Dreams" live from Heaven video (during "Jennifer" intro). It is criminal this video never got onto a proper official video compilation of theirs, whether VHS or especially the DVD. Well, this eventual error can always be corrected.

  • MY FAVORITE!!!

  • Weird, fantastic video.

  • I LIKE THE MUSIC, BUT DE VÍDEO.......

  • lovely to see this with such a great picture and sound - thank you

  • Love this song, great video & sound! Thnx.

  • Wow! This is really cool! I love this song....Dave and Annie look so strange as usual.....those two are totally insane but in a really great way! Annie looks really good in this video. Am I the only one who thinks she looks good with hair? hehe

  • Annie was on flute...

  • Oh no! It looks like she kills herself at the end :( I don't want her to die...

  • @12burtonboy "I'm never gonna cry again" is just another way of saying, "I'm gonna kill myself." I think that the lyrics are based on a suicide note that a woman left for her past boyfriend to see. She says that she's never gonna cry again (as in, committing suicide), then she says that she didn't want to bother him by telling him in person, then she concludes that she can't stand to be around him.

  • Holy shiiite... i love this. only seen clips of it in jennifer. THANKS!

  • Who is the guy playing the flute in the ocean?

  • wow! annie looks so coool!!! they were so goood!~!~!~

  • sUPERB, oN E OF MY FAVOPURITE ALL TIME SONGS, THANKS FOR UPOADING IT. j HAPPY NEW YEAR.

  • Annie wore a DRESS?

    Goodness ;)....

Thanks for posting this video - never saw it before until now...

  • Annie Lennox looks punky-hippie, sort-of.

  • THANKS!

  • What a wonderful, moody piece. "In the Garden" was such an amazing album and this song is such a great part of it. I have always loved Eurythmics so much :)

So hard not to say more...

  • i loveee early Eurythmic's music.. and Annie is so gorgeous here, I love her hair like that.. :)

  • what album is this from?

  • @craig557 this song can be found on their first album "in the garden".

  • Pure genius.

  • I've been dying to see this in good quality for nearly thirty years - I still have a terrible incomplete VHS dub of it somewhere ... if I remember correctly, it couldn't be played in Europe because Conny Plank appears in it or something ... and the album kind of went nowhere in North America ... I thank you.

  • Personally I think this is Eurythmics best song. A timeless beauty, and a very nice video too! Thanks for uploading.

  • The video reminds me one of the beaches in Canada.

  • Thank you for this video, I take it !

  • Thank you for this video, I take in my playlist !

  • Eurythmics' first album is an underrated gem...

  • thinking about getting a longer version of this haircut...

  • Reminds me of a few breakups - I shed more tears for you than the ocean - what a line!

  • Masterpiece even after thirty years

  • Yeah man! Furthermore these videos from the garden are very rare so we should appreciate that someone uploaded them for the world to see.

  • The beginning of a long series of beautiful songs...MORE `80`s music on my channell!!!!

  • I wonder where exactly this music video was filmed at? Wherever it is, I'd love to go there on Summer!

  • Thanks a million for sharing this video with us, mate!

I've been looking for this video for ages. You made my day!

  • ik kan er uren en uren naar luisteren

    melancholics of the world unite

  • Wow. I never knew they made a video for this underrated gem. Thanks.

  • Rowan Akinson?? Don't be daft...haven't got my album here right now, but according to Wiki, she plays the flute. Holger Csukay from Can on French horn, but not him, and not Jake Liebezeit who plays the drums, also from Can either, so probably just a friend? Some actor?

My fav was always 'Revenge' from this album, wonder if they ever made a video of that one? Just a tiny little private shoot, would have looved that! Oh, the disappointment when they released ' Be Yourself Tonight', undescribable!

  • It reminds me a bit of Bowies Ashes to Ashes video. Who´s on flute? Rowan Atkinson?

  • That's exactly what I thought at first, too. He reminds me of Rowan Atkinson.

  • Hmzz .. when i see Dave walking in that dress .. look good at his face .. looks for sure also Mr Atkinson :-) bytheway stereomusicvideo .. fantastic that you put this video on tube, really good one, there are mo mutch of this song on tube, i hope there i more older songs video's from the one & only greatest band The Eurythmics :-)

  • @zulucase hahaha just my thought! Must me him...

  • @zulucase its actually annie playing the flute i remember her sayin in an interview

  • @zulucase He's on David Bowie's personal flute ;) ;)

  • @zulucase yes, exactly what i thought! though nothing can compare to bowie's stoic solemn clown walking down the beach as an old woman pleads with him.

  • @bluestate69 It's meant to be his mother, nagging "you better not mess with major tom" xD

  • Annie as a kind of a surreal mermaid in a red dress.

  • I want her red dress!

  • What a nice clear copy of this video. Thanks for uploading.

  • I'm never gonna die again?

    -O

  • Thank you a million! I had only seen the rubbish copies and this is a real treat. This is awesome.

  • Hi nonbreeder - check your YouTube inbox.

  • Thanks, Absolutely fantastic! What a lot details now I can see. Famous.

  • Yes, provocative comment by stereomusicvideo, but I can see both sides. A crappy video is (usually) better than no video at all, if that's all that's available. But a lot of people don't seem to care what kind of video quality they upload. If someone trumped me with a better quality clip, I'd simply remove mine. Perhaps YouTube should remove duplicates and instead always just keep the best version of whatever.

  • Actually looking at stereomusicvideo's channel, he (or she?) seems to have very high standards about what they upload and seems to go to a lot of trouble to source really high quality clips. If only more YouTubers weren't so indiscriminate about what they dump here. For that I reckon good on you - show 'em how it should be done.

  • Don't forget that a lot of the so-called 'crappy' quality video's have been on YouTube for about 2 or 3 years now (when Youtube didn't have the 'High Quality' option yet).

But hey: it's a great thing that more users put up more video's in higher quality now .. but let's not forget the firsthand users that put up these kinda video's in the first place. Anyway: great quality of a great track this one :-).

    Cheers.

  • OK, fair comment. I have toned down my provocative introduction :-)

  • THANKYOU for this such high quality version of this sensational Eurythmics video clip! ;)

  • the wonkier version was super exciting for me to watch at first, because it was like... this unattainable thing. but now, this is like ... master. finally! thank you

  • snotty comment on the version of my copy thanks! anyway i appriciate the fact that the is a clear version out there.
