However 'centre' comes from latin. It has nothing to do with Canada's Francophone' background. Besides the US, we all spell it the same.
1325–75; Latin centrum, Greek kéntron needle, spur, pivoting point in drawing a circle.
Noah Webster developed the Amer. Dictionary of the English Lang. to try to standardize & simplify British English for a diverse and sometimes poorly educated colonial America.
yea... i think eh is alot like huh in american-english like: so ur sure u did ur homework huh? lol and btw that was really cool how u said centre in french ur really good at both accents lol
Depending on which part of Canada you are speaking of. The Northwestern part of the States and Southwestern Canada generally sounds the same linguisticly. "General American" or "General Canadian" sound pretty much the same. It is the eastern part of Canada and the States that become more of a cluster fuck of different dialects and or language. Florida primarily speaks Spanish however Sp is not a 2nd language on a National level like CA has Eng & Fr.
Hmm. about what you said about "centre" I was taught as a child that it's a centER of a circle but outside it's a shopping centRE (buildings are RE and "middle" is ER.)

You're an idiot. Center isn't spelled "centre" in Canada because of French influence, it's because of British English.
