  • do you have the lyrics or something? we need it.

  • Can I prevent Entropy?

  • I really wish all of the "free energy" quacks would watch this... so many people are saying that they have created perpetual energy and that the government is suppressing their inventions

  • This is the best thing I have ever seen ever.

  • Entropy Henry Poincare named the conception of "entropy " as a " surprising abstract " Lev Landau wrote: " A question about the physical basis of the entropy monotonous increasing law remains open " One physicist said : " The entropy is only a shadow of energy“ # History of Entropy 1 - Clausius : dS= dQ / T. 2 - Boltzmann : S= k log W 3 - Planck : h*f = kT logW # The formula of Entropy is : h*f = kT logW # Israel Sadovnik Socratus
  • Have you heard that entropy isn't what it used to be?

  • I like to explain tending to a supremum of entropy as going from a more unfair state to a fairer state. Imagine if every particle in the universe travelled with the exact same velocity vector, yet the total energy - the sum of the mass of each particle times its speed squared - were the same as today's universe. Then no particle could be aware of any other particle's existence, since one would need a force particle to jump from one particle to another with a DIFFERENT velocity vector than...

  • @mphello ... the group majority in order to get from one particle to another. If that force particle (from one of the particles) just continued with the same group majority velocity vector, it couldn't get to any of the other particles.

Such a universe is maximum "fairness" or entropy.

  • Splendiferous!

  • If entropy is the tendency for a system to go from a state of high energy to a state of low energy, then it's like gravity for energy.

  • why is Eisenstein black ?

    lol

  • entropy = enrergy loss when converting one form of energy into another... am I correct?

  • I have studied Math and Physics in Germany and this song gave me the best price-performance ratio in my entire life. I passed, barely though, the test about Thermodynamics with merely 1:23 Minutes of studying. Thanks Steve

  • Ride a barrel down the falls,

    cook spaghetti with me balls,

really make your friends amazed, nuke 'em with some gamma rays XD

Fly to venus in a rocket,

put your finger in a socket,

you may suffer from exhaust but none of that energy is ever really loooooost!!!

  • I can't believe people are trying to argue about entropy on here. Unless you have a PHD in physics I doubt you have the knowledge to back up any of your claims.

  • I have a Ph.D in kicking your ass

  • Sorry they don't give out PhD's in that field anymore after the last candidate turned up dead.

  • Roflmao this is hillarius

  • Henry Poincare named the conception of "entropy "

One physicist said :" The entropy is only a shadow of energy

    Why ?

  • I'm not a physicist, but, I believe that energy is required to decrease the entropy of a system (at the expense of the surroundings which will increase in entropy). So there's a relation... =)

  • @Sectorsophia Yes energy is required to decrease entropy of a system the energy/matter is said to have changed form.

  • @Sectorsophia Using energy is essentially the source of entropy in a system. The fuel used will have less usable energy in it and it will be in a much more disordered state. If you tidy a room or mess it up, work is done in both situations and therefore entropy increases in both situations. If you do any kind of work in a system you will increase it's entropy. There are no exceptions to this law.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sectorsophia in reality entropy does not decrease because you can not reverse its direction. entropy is ever increasing thermodynamic characteristic. some of the energy that you add into the system is wasted as heat. however you can slow down the increase of entropy if youcan develop a system wherein all processes aproach adiabatic. or you can even stop entropy if your adiabatic system can be reversed, thus isentropic. though stopping it also mean that no energy can be used to do work.

  • entropy is why we die

  • without entropy you couldn't live

  • entropy is why time doesn't stop

  • @TheAdminSlayer

sounds interesting, can u explain that??

  • @TheAdminSlayer

What we percieve as entropy is the reason why our perception of time doesn't stop; you must remember every thing is relative to every thing eles.

  • i hate entropy!

  • me too it really sucks beacause of this stupid entropy nothing can be forever

  • @Jtking3000 I used to hate entropy, but now it just kind of irks me.

  • did anybody notice that the black guy has white hands hahaha just thought i would point that out

  • Albert Einstein wasnt black. they just made him look quite tan in the face

  • As to the technical question: this was filmed on 16mm film running through a camera on an old Oxberry Animation stand, just like they used in the old days. It's as big as a Volkswagen, and the college I went to was lucky enough to have one in use. I'm glad you liked it.

  • i have a technical question:

how did you get your camera at a direct 90 degree angle above you animation space?

is there a special stand you can get?

    ps i loved this!

    einstein is totally awesome!

  • The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics is valid in CLOSED systems. The earth is not a closed system because it is constantly exchanging energy with it's surroundings. More specifically, we gain energy from the sun and lose some back to space. Since we have a steady supply of energy, we can increase order on our planet, consistent with the 2nd Law. There is no need for a 'god' hypothesis.

Also, the world we live in is not in 'perfect order.' Far from it. Cancer and birth defects are some examples.

  • your commenting on Cancer and birth defect is failing.

  • Way to elaborate. Cancer and birth defects are very specific examples of entropy at work. Cancer is a degradation of cellular functionally, typically as a result from environmental factors affecting the highly ordered state of cells. Birth defects are again mutations that occur causing atypical genetic properties. Please explain how this is inaccurate.

  • Both of these examples are rarely caused by degradation of cellular functions. Cancer is in fact more of a car stuck on 4th gear not a degradation. As for Birth defects again the majority of causes is things outside of cell degradation.

(Ya I know late, so sue me if I don't check my E-mail)

  • But order can come from chaos, sence entropy has alot to do with light energy, thats how we have photosynthisis!

  • "this perfect system we live in?" wtf??? what has this system of perfect???? are you that blind?

  • very creative video by the way. even better animation techniques. wish I had the patience. posted my original song of the same name. thanks.

  • Here I was looking for a video to describe entropy for me, and I found this.

    Fukken saved.

  • lol bravo!

  • what... the...fuck..........

  • I had to keep watching it, and watching it, and watching it, and watching it, and watching it....

  • Words fail me.

    Five stars

  • search entropy sour

  • really make your friends amazed amazed, nuke it with some gammarays...we can't stop the fire, LOOOOL

  • TRAP! ITS JUST A STARBOX COMMERICAL

  • This is pure awesome. Damn good job, damn good job!

  • awesome job

  • "Ride a barrel down the falls

    Then cook spaghetti with meatballs

    Really make your friends amazed

Nuke it with some gamma rays

Fly to Venus in a rocket

Put your finger in a socket

    You may suffer from exhaust

But none of that energy is ever really lost!"

  • that video makes me want to take the class.

  • Primitively stellar!

  • dude u need to get award for this clip !!! great video !!!

  • Simply masterful!

  • That was just awesome. Great job!!

  • This movie is awsome!

  • Awesome!!

  • I just took a thermodynamics final. Despite the fact that the equations for all these properties started floating around in my head, this video is awesome.

  • Epic

  • Awesome.

  • top video

  • Einstein is black?

  • "Einstein is black?"

Not a lot of people know he was black and that he was gangster too.... Didn't you read Einstizzle's theory of relatizzle?

  • @ThePhantomWozzler "They see me mowin' my front lawn..."

  • @ThePhantomWozzler Cool stereotyping, bro

  • Lol, that was kind of weird. Yet it helped me get an A on my science quiz... actually no... well haha

  • thanks for the video, it really help me0.o

  • Lol you did a great job! It even made it into one of my disscussion sections for chem at u dub!

  • Brilliant :)

  • Fantastic Moxy song, and a video worthy of the song. This video is full of pwn, and also full of win.

  • Good video, highly enjoyable and was Einstein black? :p

  • You know, people always ask if Einstein was black, but it wasn't meant to look that way. It's a combination of the way the paper was filmed, and the fact that the puppets were made from computer printouts that I colored in with markers. He did come out a little more "George Hamilton" than I'd liked, but that's what you get for a first try.

  • man.....that was the best video ive ever seen!

  • That was hilarious. I wish I could do stuff like that.

  • good work!

  • Fantastic! Nice work!!

  • Holy crow, PHENOMENAL.

  • Wow. This is one of the very few fan-made music videos that is actually good. Please keep up the good work.

  • great job done. you did justice to one of the fruvous classix.

  • That. Was fantastic.

  • *laugh* Excellent!

  • Gorgeous.

  • Haha, I was youtubing Sarah Lawrence because I really want to go to college there, and found this, I LOVE IT.

  • Hooray for entropy!
