@declensionent No, it's really not. There is a backing track running, but the holmes is singing on top of it, and his live vocals are more prominent. Trust. To suggest otherwise is beyond absurd and shows a complete lack of basic understanding of music in general. /end.
Oh hello! Have you ever tried - fast abs magic (google it)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my m8 got beautiful Six pack abs and lost a ton of weight with it.
why cant we just sit back and enjoy the music. for one, i could care less if NIN is on the radio or not. Trent still makes good music. and i dont think he's corporate. if so, he'd have the industry breathing down his neck telling him what to do. i like both nin and skinny puppy
KMFDM, now thats horrible. not in my opinion industrial as much as techno dance shit. opinions are like assholes though. everybody had one and they smell like shit
This is an amazing song, and Skinny Puppy is amazing.
But what's up with all the hipster fans? "herp, NIN are a bunch of corporate sellouts duurrr" You don't have to like nin, that's fine, but what's with the trendy bashing of them in every SP video? NIN puts out some good music and some people like them, I don't see the big deal in that?
Yeah, I find no problem with making money. Nobody is forcing people to listen to NIN, and if they are it isn't NIN's fault. Hell, I'd even lip sync if it meant having money! To hell with everyone else!
Ministry, I'm afraid, was NOT one of the pioneers. Al was an "english" dandy singing about Work For Love and Halloween until he too was influenced by SP. As for Trent Reznor, let me remind you that Pretty Hate Machine came out AFTER he was Skinny Puppy's opening act. Sorry, the misinformation was bothersome.
I love this band so damn much! Ogre seriously puts on one of the best shows ever!! The soldier getup with the gasoline-gun is genius, and then the big reveal of who the two executioners are...absolutely chilling!

My opinion, for someone that grew up on that eras metal and industrial, NIN is not old school industrial. NIN is what took industrial mainstream and basicaly destroyed the genre. Skinny Puppy, Ministry, KMFDM, Throbbing Gristle, Pigface, obviously Krafts work, and even hybred bands like Alien Sex Fiend or Ramstein, were the true leaders, not the 'seller outers'. Trent can fuck himself
They really ended on a high note with that tour (assuming their last tour was the last, you never really know with those guys). I've seen em on every tour since VIVISECT VI. @ivanmyh then i guess we wont have to sacrifice you to the spirits of industry....this time! i do find it scary, though, that i had to see a katy perry pop compilation advert this time as the intro to this video...more disturbing than any SP image ever
I still don't get it. I need a beat. I need a melody. Maybe it's here, but I need to listen again; but I don't know when that will happen. I like Legendary Pink Dots and Clock DVA btw.
ok I feel the beat; but it takes multiple listens for me, yo. Beat is intricately wrapped with melody. I wonder if there is any difference. Can you have beat without melody? Even drums have to be tuned. Can you have melody without beat? Every melody depends on rhythm. Hmmmmm. This tune seems violent and droning. I guess it's a culture thing. If this was this bands only song, could they be classified as a "one hit wonder" in the underground? BTW I know nothing of them.
@crushsatan Don't listen to it on YouTube -- you're hearing a very compressed copy. If you could hear it on CD on a good stereo system, you'd understand. It's very powerful music, especially if you heard it in the context of the time in which it was released. There was NOTHING else like it at the time. SO GOOD.
hexonxonx? make a million living things suffer hidden glad garbage body bags what of that change that could save everything that paper shredder patent tender puts us back in time again
@DanceTheSpears As if they somehow needed your approval? It's ONE performance. Touring is tough by the way. I'd like to see you on top of it ALL the time...regardless of your age. Then again, you probably don't have the guts to walk even two feet onto the stage let alone have what it takes to become as great as skinny puppy has.
@937emotion ...and let me guess. you're super, uber bff pals with SP,right? Yeah... Seen them live 11 times and have the ticket stubs to prove it,have been VIP twice when they played in Atlanta and have met them.... they are slipping. Maybe if you were less of a little mall-goth pussy and payed more attention to their work...you would notice this trend also. Oh and just for the record. @DanceTheSpears See....Now you just sound like trailer trash. Obviously I meant performing on stage & tearing it up....NOT some dirty douche standing on stage completely out of place watching the performance only to get thrown back off where he belongs.....dipshit. I thought only losers kept their ticket stubs anyway. I'm sooooo done here.
@DanceTheSpears ummmm what's wrong with it, might i ask? i havent seen them too many times, but this definitely isnt a bad performance from an industrial group by anymeans, are you saying this because they are not as dark and violent as they were back in the 80's and 90's?
@hellchild65 Pretty much. I'm not saying this is horrible,I mean...its still SP. But I remember when I was younger and saw them...they had so much more energy and presence. Its sad,but it just seems like age got to them.. I know thats not the case, though it is with KMFDM. =/
@hellchild65 Not to mention...this stage performance is shit. Seems like SP jumped on the Ministry bandwagon and used bashing Bush as a means to sell records, even though OhGr and Key both said they are not at all involved or interested in American Politics. They claim their songs are directed at presenting social issues as they see them, but could care less as to how people interpret them. They have no real opinion(besides OhGr's Animal Rights and anti-Vivisection). This says otherwise. =/
@DanceTheSpears didnt they also say politics addiction and religion play apart in their music though? i dont think SP or ministry bashing bush is a bad thing either (well towards the end ministry did get too out of hand with it imo). you could say one thing and change your mind about it the next day or even months later if you think long and hard about it. ALOT of artists in their 40's and 50's don t have the same opinions they did when they were in their 20's.
@hellchild65 I agree that opinions change....but as you age and opinions change, your work and music will probably change as well...and almost always not for the better. =P At least not with SP. While SP does like to change their record concepts, their last two albums were a complete departure...and were crap. Even by Key's own admission,he said "Mythmaker was definitely some of our less inspired work". But I'm going to keep faith. Lets hope they get back on heroin and crank out another MTPI.
One of my favourite tracks off of the excellent 1989 "Rabies" album.
Love the additional imput by Ministry's Al Jourgensen on this album, even though a lot of SP fans frowned upon Al's influence (including some members of SP itself).
so ahead of it's time; last few lines: "budgets that burst with oil crude gas in
purse no compassion common criminals seek asylum concrete pillow exxon dreams hidden hiarchy no one in power taking blame..." so true, too bad no one will ever listen; oh yeah, by the way, we're still throwing trillions of tax payers dollars away every year on finding weapons of mass destruction that were never found, when will we WAKE UP and create a Green Country instead of our current Greedy War Loving one?!!
@ronrendon I live in FL and it kills me that im on the complete other side of FL and dont have the means to make to the gulf coast on the weekends to help the guys out(not BP)
they might have to make a new version of this song and call it BPhexon or something like that... "oil crude gas inpurse no compassion common criminals seek asylum concrete pillow exxon dreamshidden hiarchy no one in power taking blame"
good old industrial. helter skelter 1988, variety art center, zombie zoo, electric temple, the scream, loved the goth scene...before emo, i was just a teen getting my education at UCLA dreaming of being a rock star.
Goth? um no... you could not label them. We had a radio show "left of the dial" back in the 80's, and we played them, and the best we came up with was "aggressive beat stuff" somewhere in the industrial genre... for us HS kids, puppy was our CNN.
ogre flung mud in my girlfriends eye on this tour in salt lake . i still have the caution tape that he wrapped around the place . when the show was over they dumped the left over blood(corn syrup)buckets on us . we freaked out some hicks on the ride home looking freshly murdered and all . i asked them where the nearest fresh water lake was .
I came from a time when music meant something, even if it was wrong. And then came VanHagar and that idiot who sang for Black Sabbath who's pushing credit cards now.
(Who must be forgiven because he's only worth a billion or so. Sucks to be broke.)
Here's a handful of people who say what they mean.
that's not the only reason, be honest. i feel retarded win i lose scratch off fast food contest offers. sunday i lost a BK apple pie. fortunately i was sick and thought it was cute. someone in the world right now is vomiting, and they are vomiting hard, and with conviction.
Note to everyone commenting about arguing who's better and flaming me, notice I have never said SP was better then NIN or the other way around, people with simple minds can interpret anything they want from my posts, doesn't make them right (or in this case even observant)
My points were only that SP predates NIN, and that Trents constant wining about being alone annoys me.
Some wild comments happening down there. And in addition to what the dude under me said, shut up, stop whining about whos better, because everyone has their own opinion, and what is good in their eyes may not be good in sombody elses. Enjoy the two great industrial bands in harmony and stop bitching!!
the sound quality is awesome

Damn, having the live guitar there just makes this 20yo song sound so fresh and alive.
Just damn.

So much for integrity being dead.

Check out the song, "Tin Omen" from the same album. Awesome. My all time favorite Puppy album.

My all time favorite SP song and album. Saw them in concert 3 times in Toronto with great early stuff. Spiked, long, dye black hair and all.

Skinny puppy is to cult as Slipknot is to a fraction of the insight that Skinny Puppy truly is. Whoa!!!!! How high am I?

The answer is always: Not high enough...
unless heroine, crack... than too high... far too high... dont touch it!

hammy676865 2 years ago
It's from the album "Rabies", spelled a little differently as "Hexonxonx". Hope this helps.
QualityApeMan 2 years ago 4
it does. thank you. i feel retarded for not realizing it in the first place
hammy676865 2 years ago 2
that's not the only reason, be honest. i feel retarded win i lose scratch off fast food contest offers. sunday i lost a BK apple pie. fortunately i was sick and thought it was cute. someone in the world right now is vomiting, and they are vomiting hard, and with conviction.

Take from that what you will

It's not goth, horseshit for brains. Goths rarely have songs with as much political and social conscience as the Puppy.

Some wild comments happening down there. And in addition to what the dude under me said, shut up, stop whining about whos better, because everyone has their own opinion, and what is good in their eyes may not be good in sombody elses. Enjoy the two great industrial bands in harmony and stop bitching!!
