agHHHHHHHHH reminds me of the million roadtrips. I NEED to do this again & I like your idea, filming. Although, more on my level I would film the happy passengers lol. It's quite awesome, wonderful, interesting & all the above! Thanks!!!!!!
@momonohasu Yes, at the end of March. The road is open all year, but I wouldn't want to say that there is a normal. Alaska is always changing and you have to always be prepared for the worst. The road is heavily traveled and people are always helpful. You shouldn't have a problem. If you're lucky it will be clear and you'll see Denali on your way.
So - you just mounted it and recorded the entire trip? (I'm experimenting with that also). BTW the mountains on the right when you leave Anch REALLY make me homesick _ climbed a lot of them. It's weird how it jogs my memory. Thanks again!
I stopped the recording a few times at gas stations just in case file sizes became an issue. Otherwise, yes, just mounted it and drove. We also had to pull over a few times to clear the windshield. It was mounted inverted, then I just inverted the footage again in Adobe.
Nice ! You;re making me homesick again ...We drove that in 1978 before it was paved all the way. Had a total of FIVE flats from the gravel - sharp glacier granite. Twice we were stranded, and my Dad had to hitch rides to fix flats.
Hey, did you use the HDR-CX550V? Mine came, and I'm experimenting with time-lapse today. But, I'm frustrated because the camera does not have a time-lapse mode, and although i can speed up raw vid in Sony Vegas Movie Studio, it has a max of 300%. Details, please!
@stevecrye Yeah, this was the Sony cx550v. Adobe let's you scale as much as you want. You could try doing 300%, drop your result into another timeline, then scale that another 300% etc. Or god forbid, render your movie, then scale that again.
Tha ALCAN wasn't fully paved when I moved up there in 94, but I hear it is now. They also straightened it out a bunch.

This is awesome! What was your shooting frame rate?

@RmurrayPhoto
I shot in standard 60i but at a lower bitrate so I didn't fill up the 64gb storage. Thanks for the compliment!
