  • H is complete mental. I LOVE HIM

  • beautiful i love it sooooo much

  • GREAT¡¡¡¡ I like this band

  • GREAT¡¡¡¡ I like this band so much

  • GREAT¡¡¡¡ I like this band so much

  • Fuck. I thought it would pass with adulthood, with getting married, having children, living my life discovering other bands and other singers, but no, I have to face it, I still want to have sex with Steve H.

  • Singers a tool.

  • @Alxscode Yes. A tool of musical nirvana.

  • Rothery is indeed a great guitarist and I love the way he plays and feels the music, but you can't compare him with david gilmour. David Gilmour kicked ass when he was in Pink Floyd and when he played solo.

  • When people ask me why i love Marillion i just say they are musically superb and bloody good blokes , all i get is "well Kayleigh was good" c,mon i think we have moved on a bit since then........

  • steve rothery is a bloody legend

  • The band is brilliant regardless of who is there singer! Both Fish and h Era are amazing.

  • best solo

  • Rothery for President

  • mejor banda , lejos

  • tremenda banda desde chike saludos marillion ojala vuelvan alguna vez

  • best band in the world.fact! end of debate ta ta

  • goddamn... don´t analize... just listen. this is music, not some kind of science.

  • gilmour has more grandiose solos and longer ones..eg echoes, sorrow, comfortambly numb...rothery is more tonal , both of them r amazing

  • a progressividade de toda a banda,principalmente de hogarth e rothery,saltam aos olhos e alucinam os fãs do neo prog.parabéns a todos eles.;e lembrem se:nao usem drogas!

  • the interpretation of H is outstanding. The passing of the years has reinforced his great vocal ability. It's like going back to Holidays in Eden in 1991. A perfect voice

  • there is steve vai, satrianni petrucci and many other virtuozo crackers out there...but NO ONE CAN PLAY LIKE ROTHERY !!!! ROTHERY IS INDEED A UNIQUE AND UNDERATED GUITARIST NOT WELL KNOWN TO CLASIC ROCK LISTENERS...IT HAS ALL HE NEEDS TO PLAY BOTH TECHNICLY SOPHISTICATED PIECES OF MUSIC AND BOTH 100% EMOTION AND FEELING...FOR ME HE IS EVEN BETTER THAN DAVID GILMOUR...MUCH MORE DIVERSE!

  • I couldn't agree more. He doesn't have the name recognition, but he can really play!

  • @human20freedom completely agree with you there, Rothery is almost insurpassable, however I still cling to the opinion that he is on par with Alex Lifeson from Rush (personal bias), I am convinced that Rothery was greatly inspired by Lifeson, if you study his style. Rothery of course is ultra-unique, ultra-skilled, but I probably prefer Alex (only just)

  • @human20freedom

Those are different stylers. Well atleast the speeders.

Gilmour surely was one of the biggest influences to shape rothery's sound and style. But beeing a good guitarist isnt about being better one than others. It is only about expressing yourself, feelings and emotions. Gilmour expresses himself different, than rothery, Vai expresses himself in a complete different way. Different characters with different messages. get that, and you'll never give this kind of statemant again.

  • Yes, Steve Rothery is indescribable, but do not forget Ian Mosley.

The vision of Marilion music only exists on another level.

  • @human20freedom He's got a unique guitar touch, a particular vibrato. Very good guitar player !

  • @human20freedom Well i love S Rothery too, but i dont think that Rothery is better than Gilmour..The difference is that one takes you to nirvana and another at the sky which is practically the same ..and dont forget Andy Latimer from Camel his guitar makes me cry like no one....

  • @zappfripp87 Latimer is amazing...criminal how underrated he is.

  • @human20freedom Hey there's no need to criticize any other guitar player. Why John Petrucci? he's probably one of the humblest guys of that bunch you mentioned. it's not who's best... for me it's always been whose the one I felt the most when I watched him play. Cheers :)

  • lejos , pero muy lejos la mejor banda

  • Gotta say... I hate these comments. If you don't like H, don't listen / visit "new" Marillion's songs. Both H and Fish are epic figures, and both are brilliant frontmen. Both different, but both brilliant.

  • @CzechGuardian hogarth, brilliant? LOL !!!!!

  • @CzechGuardian

your right mate cant here these fish guys anymore, saw marillion last week in stuttgart fantastic as always steve hogarth is the voice

  • That's right, if you don't like H, it's simply... just don't listen...

  • Brilliant ending of the brilliant album (Holidays in Eden). This is the last song of the continuing trio (This Town / The Rakes Progress / 100 Nights) and for sure the gradation is pure genius. And yet again, Trewavas's bass is breath-taking.

  • Amazing!!!!One of Rothery's best solos

very strong lyrics too.Aim straight to the gut

  • Awesome

Thanks a load for the post

Guitar solos like this put Rothery up there in the best, and I personally think he is better than David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

  • I think you are trying to compare the uncompareable.

  • That maybe so, but that's just an opinion on both my and your part.

As far as appreciation goes, Gilmour is loved and Rothery is little known in comparison. The one thing which annoys me is the way that Gilmour can contribute 2 or 3 great solos per album, whilst Rothers is brilliant on nearly every Marillion song and receives little to no credit comparably.

  • Ah, sure... you're absolutly right there. Whole Marillion band is horribly underrated, and Rothery is indeed one of the finest guitar players. It's a real shame they are not as known as they deserve, because they are on the top of the pinacle of Prog/Art rock.

  • she spends your money on meeee

    love it :)

  • phwoar.. looking pretty pukka there stevie boy

  • Steve the Guitargod!!!

  • Steve Rothery at his best!

  • beautiful, classic and steve rothery is a teacher of the guitar is half of marillion, hopefully that the new bands pay attention to marillion and steve rothery they is an example for the new bands of present music so that these bands make good music and nonsweepings
