  • The Lion King in Live was awesome (:

  • I seen the London version a couple of days ago for the second time.. there wasn't a great deal of effort put into this song to make it sound good.. the instrumentals sort of out-did the vocals and in comparisson to Jason Raize, it sucked!

  • The lion king will never die it will always be with us well every1 of it's fans

  • Ladies and Genlemen, this is exactly why playback music sucks and live singing rules.

  • There will never be another Jason Raize....

  • I saw this when I was like six, and I decided I wanted to play Simba. Then I remembered that I'm white and a girl. Yeah I'm seventeen and still want to be Simba....... lolz

  • The lion king was amazing on Boradway! I expected something different, for it was really rather for children, in my book, but some things just made my heart pump really fast. Like this!

  • goosebumps. everytime.

  • does anyone know if it s Samuel Wright singing? His voice is tremendous!

  • @chaleksa Yes it's Sam Wright. He has about 3 CDs out with him covering various songs in character as Sebastian the crab from The Little Mermaid. He's a great singer. =)

  • Thumbs up if you want this song to be played at your funeral

  • i saw this a few weeks ago, was absolutely amazing!

  • @GregTechnology: Here's all the words they say and their translations:

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala - "Here is a lion and a tiger"

Ubu khosi bo khokho - This is the throne of our ancestors

We ndodana ye sizwe sonke - Oh, son of the nation

    Mamela means "Listen".

  • Ok. So what does Mamela mean?

  • @lyndak100

    Yup. That's Scott Irby-Ranniar.

  • what is the name of the younger actor playing young simba? does anyone know?

  • thumbs up for watching this in 2011

  • Dios!!! como me alegra escuchar esta canción. =)

  • 42 hyenas dislike this....

  • I would pay anything to see this production again. I was completely mesmerised by it.

  • Damn Jason Raize was a hell of a Simba!

  • i dont understand why is he pointing

  • @66lizette he's pointing at the stars because his ancestors live there.

  • who ever doesnt like this dosent know what acting is

  • 42 people didn't have faith

  • I saw the Lion King in Broadway when pregnant w/ my first boy Lorenzo, 5 years ago, and I this particular scene was incredibly moving to me that I got so emotional I was out of breath..

Amazing how these actors and the entire production itself could accelerate your heart to the point you are so overjoyed with emotions.

    That's POWERFUL!!

  • Actually the musical is older than the second movie, so it's probably the other way round: they wanted to use the new song from the musical in the sequel. And it really is the only decent song in the whole movie.

  • @MyNorthernLad "Actually the musical is older than the second movie, so it's probably the other way round: they wanted to use the new song from the musical in the sequel. And it really is the only decent song in the whole movie." Actually when they made the first movie they had so much material they made a 2nd cd called Rhythm Of The Pride Lands: Music Inspired By Disney's The Lion King [Soundtrack] released February 28, 1995. I'll continue the post.

  • I think ths is the most brilliant show that has ever been shown !

  • I love the half second of silence after they finish. The audience is too wowed to speak, and there's a definite "Um..." moment from the players. Luckily then the cheering starts :)

  • Samuel e wright

  • isnt this song from the 2nd movie?

  • @kittylovespenguin yes. I think they used it because Mufasa doesn't sing in the movie. That and it fits perfectly his speech about the ancient kings =)

  • Yeah the Mufasa voice is AMAZING and it is has an amzing depth of tone. Rafiki is inredible, she makes me wanna be African. Jason Raize really compliments their singing. What a Trio! Their singing strikes a chord deep in me, and the backing singers are out of this world. Overwhelmed and Inspired.

  • who is the guy who sings at the start?..his voice is SIIIIIIIIIICK!

  • i went to see this in londons west end last year and its the best thing i have ever seen!

  • How can there be any dislikes? Are you serious?

  • I Would Love To Watch Lion King Live But I Know I'd Wanna Go Up On Stage Pretending To Be A Gizelle Doing Amateur Ballet

  • No matter how many different videos I watch, I still think this one is the best of all of them. I just wish that they, like the french version, could have made a music video. It would've been SO SWEET!

  • love that pan flute!

  • I don't see how anyone can dislike this this show is so amazing I loved every second of it thumbs up if you agree

  • Meine Lieblingsversion. Einfach nur rührend und geil !

  • this cast rocks! this song is one of my favorites!

  • I just love this song I got the part of Mufassa I am so happy

  • @opal66666 did you really get the part for mufasa because thats not even how you spell his name

  • @opal66666 yes, I really did I have to play a male role it's just that I'm not the best at spelling stuff.

  • I just saw this in ottawa, and was kinda depressed that he didn't growl at the end when he sang

  • @LosinMyCrackers lol different actors. these people are from the first few years of the play. they switch them out every now and again.

  • @LosinMyCrackers i saw this last night in ottawa too but i think he roared at the end for us

  • Caught this three times, one on broadway ny and twice in my country. Amazing <3

  • I JUST LOVE THIS.It's SO AWESOME!! :)

  • I've seen Lion King on broadway 3times can't get enough. The original cast were the best in my opinion.

  • Tsidi Leloka - ngwanana Mosotho.... I am so proud of you... O ntlhatswa pelo ngwaneso.

  • g r e a t g r e a t g r e a t

  • @lisashaye No, they still have the original song. It is because they sing it twice in the musical. First time to all the ancestors in the sky ( why they use "they"). Later they sing the song to Mufasa and there they use "he" ("The original)

  • The person that plays Rafiki looks like the mask from "Zelda: Majora's Mask".

  • Thank you, my friend.

    Many blessings and peace,

    CG

  • Shweet

  • i gotta say, (referring to the movies) the original Lion King had the best soundtrack ever. but this song is just as great and made the opening scene of The Lion King 2 great!

  • You know in the movie when Mufasa's face appears in the sky? When I saw this on Broadway, they were about to do that scene and I kept getting distracted by all these people in the background that were dancing around and holding what looked like glowing puzzle pieces and random shapes, which were attatcked to the top of 20 foot almost invisible poles. Just when everyone was wondering where Mufasa's ghost was, they put the puzzle pieces together and it made his face. My favorite part.

  • @RedVetro i saw this scene some days ago at broadway...BEST.

  • @RedVetro that was so creative!

  • 2:07 onwards gave me the biggest goosebumps ever! :P

  • so weeping!!!!

    love it more and more!!

  • those arent the original lyrics, but its still great!

  • Wait, Rosie O Donnel did Lion King too?! How many musicals has she done besides Taboo?

  • Comment removed

  • 1:48, kinda reminds me of jaden smith

  • Saw the musical in London just last week, there version gave you the chills! So good!

  • This is one of my favourite scenes, it was so powerful... amazing

  • i saw this live!

  • saw the show yesterday... has got to be the most amazing show I have ever seen! <3 every single second, amazing.

  • How can anyone dislike this?

  • @Hrwatica28 because they just like justin bieber, jonas brother, and miley cyrus

  • @Hrwatica28 Theirs always going to be haters

  • @richf2000 True. Nothing smart to do but spitting on good things.

  • AMAZE

  • I've seen in twice, in London and Las Vegas and I would still give so much to see it again. It is my dream to perform in the Lion King. It changed my life.

  • who is playing the simba in this one not the child but the older one?

  • @ABBYFULL Jason Raize...R.I.P!

  • wow what a voice at the end

  • That can't be Simba, Simba has a teenage edge to his voice, is that Mufasa?

  • Simba looks really grown up here...

  • ...is that Raffiki being played by a woman?

  • @ShadowDJ94 you bet your sweet bippy Raffiki is a woman.

  • @blastdude1234 ...weird casting choice...

  • I saw it a month ago !! wish to see it again sometime, it was so amazing !! loved it so much !! <3 <3

  • Goosebumps, man. :)

Intense, yet full of hope. <3 I want to see this on Broadway someday.

  • anyone know how i can download this version of the song?

  • The man who plays Mufasa has a perfectt voice for a lion I mean how scary would it be to be yelled at by some1 with that voice! X)

  • @vampire6XoXoXo Samuel E. Wright FTW!!! XD Under the Sea!!!! *hehe* Sebastian XD XD

  • so glad i got to saw this when it was in LA with the original cast. Breathtaking

  • Did this guy watch lion king or read the script? Its called he lives in you hes saying they live in you and its into the water, in your reflection. He sucks

  • @AirRaider56 If you watch the video instead of listening to the music, the video starts out with Mufasa talking to Simba about the ancestors and the "Great Circle of Life", hence why he says "THEY". Besides, the Broadway version is ALWAYS different in someway from the movie, that's just how things are.

  • @FlatRockBandNerd Actually, when i went to the broadway show in times square the last week of march, i beleive the 27th, they said "THEY" not "HE". Lets just say if they used he.. and messed up all the songs.. it wouldnt be worth the 79.95

  • @AirRaider56 HORRIBLE AWFUL AND JUST RUDE. complain complain complain thats all people do and its just VERY DISRESPECTFUL!!!. this is a wounderful and beautiful musical and it is very heart warming. RUDE!!!

  • @youtuefuncity58 Well its true. if they messed up the songs like this guy then it wouldnt be worth the $80 i payed, as a 16 year old, to go on a band trip to see this. Did i mention im from wisconsin, we came from WI, to go to a lion king show (just a very small peice of our NYC trip), if he messed it up like this in the musical, it wouldnt be worth the thousands of miles we traveled through gettysburg (concert and tour) and more.
