@aimson In that case, you should be viewing and listening to soloists that appeal to you. By your own admission, you have inherently no interest in, or any respect for Szeryng's work. It's a waste of your time and you have much better ways to use the hours of your life. Why continue to torture yourself listening to musicians that you don't care for?
Watching this video (over and over and over again!) reminds me of one of the main reasons I took up the violin: passion, drama, great emotion, AND great control! Damn!

Fantastic musicion and special person! I played with jim in his chamber orchestra in Mexico-City in 1970 and twice a violin course. A big experience!
