  • Now try that on trombone.

  • @OmgEmme hey flight of the bumblebee isn't that much hard to learn, you just need to be VERY patient and maybe a little obsessive ;-) just go buy a metronome and the parts, start at 60 bpm and gradually speed up until you are at 160 bpm!:D

  • I play trumpet, I've only played for a few years considering I'm in eighth grade, but I would love tyo someday accomplish this song. It is one of my life goals...

  • cool

  • cool

  • Hi,

I'm actually working on the flight and I like what you add at 1:21 & 1:27 but I'm very poor in ear playing...can someone help me with these notes that I can't found?

Oh and I love the sound of your instrument!

  • How long have you been playing and how long did it take you to master that in front of people?

  • @Mistric24 I have been playing for about 50 years. I always wanted to learn this piece but I didn't get serious about it until a few years ago. I just included a few minutes of it in my daily practice and aimed for the best sound and clarity on every note. Of course, it was very slow in the beginning, but you have to start somewhere!

  • @Mistric24 Nice, i have been playing for 3 years, and I am planing on getting either a bach new york 7 or bach strad of any model, My teacher has a #7 but I heard strad is good too, what do you know about those trumpets

  • That was pretty awesome, but why does he keep bending his knees

  • @Mistric24 Bending my knees and pointing my horn that way allows me to play my very best. I don't know why, but it is so.

  • @Mistric24 Extra energy displacement

  • I Wish I Could Play That Good o.0

i have a solo comign up at our next concert on November 15, maybe ill get someone to video tape and i'll upload.

But im only 13 so i dont expect it too be very good.

  • I can't play G and my teacher says I might not play trumpet if i can't.Help?

  • omg he is not breathing O_

  • 1:00 to skip all that talking.

  • nice but it sounds better on flute or violin

  • *EXPLOOOSSIOOOONNNNNN!!!!*

  • HOLY MOTHERFU-

  • thats amazing! i wish i cud do that!

  • this is a magnificent song. one of the most difficult to play it is certainly a challenge no matter who plays on any instrument. incredible job on this piece.

  • Green Hornet!

  • Oh...my...god...and I thought I was good.

  • I wish this was just easy as 1-2-3 but its not D:

  • @OleMcSnipey Thanks for your kind remarks. I am using a Monette B4S and a Yamaha Chicago B-flat in this concert. I do lots of scales, arpeggios, glissing, pedal tones, tone bending exercises, physical exercises, and some breathing exercises to keep up my range and endurance. Mainly I play a lot every day...

  • @OleMcSnipey Also, very, very great playing. I love your videos and the music you choose and play.

  • I remember my dad had my brother start on this when he was in high school. He had braces at the time, and at one of the concerts the band teacher praised him to the audience; said he was playing through braces even when it drew blood! Dedication

  • do you happen to know anywhere i can get the sheet music for this? excellent playing btw

  • @emilypaigegordon This arrangement that has come together over the years--I don't have it written down. If you learn it by ear little by little, you will have it in no time!

  • @emilypaigegordon go to 8notes look for trumpet sheet music

  • @emilypaigegordon 8notes.com

  • @emilypaigegordon i found this website where ive been printing free music without downloading and they have pretty much every pimpin awesome song from The Middle Era to now..... its called "8notes.com"

its amazing!!!!! except im not into band, sorry, orchestra's my thing:)

  • @emilypaigegordon

if u go to 8notes.com then they have the trumpet sheet music

  • Awesome

  • Man, thats some awesome playing. I've been working on this piece and it makes me want to quit every time I hear someone play it like that, haha. But, to be fair, I've never had any instruction on trumpet outside of my band class at school, and I'm teaching the song to myself, so I guess I should cut myself some slack. How much experience do you have on the trumpet? And what kind of mouthpiece were you using for this?

  • @Guitarhero617--I have been playing the trumpet for close to 50 years and my dad was my first teacher, so I have a leg up, but as I mentioned in the vid, go slow and you'll get it, though it takes persistence and time. For this concert I used a Monette B4S mouthpiece and a Yamaha Chicago B-flat...

  • haha! thats how i hold my trumpet!, i hate the way you have to hold it in marching band! it's so uncomfortable! and it does NOT help your breathing. it makes my breathing ALOT worse

  • @GLkamina121, I don't have much say in the matter--if I want to play my best, that is how it has to be. Happily, I don't have to play in marching band--my sympathies!

  • nice job!!

  • O.O impressive beyond the words i can say

  • phenomenal! i''m a trumpet player myself and i have never seen anyone play this quite as good as you. great job

  • holy snap! nice control on the high register =D

  • VERY VERY NICE! Good advice on the practicing.

  • Years ago, I watched Doc Severinsen play this piece in concert. Your playing of this song is far more impressive than what I remembered Doc playing.

    Thanks.

  • Dannycrane, thank you! Doc is one of the greatest players in history and I would be honored to carry his trumpet case.

  • wow great technique!

  • Thanks--you too--you are a marvelous player!

  • that was soo goodd :D

  • THAT WAS AWESOME... And I was the 777th viewer!

  • consider raising your trumpet?

  • Yes, I've tried lots of things, but this seems to work the best for me.

  • he has it like that so he can get the best sound to the mic

  • GOD , this is good!

  • I just listened to Rafael Mendez' version of "Flight of the Bumble Bee" on muted trumpet. Mr. Mendez is truly one of the greats. I think Prof. Campos' version shows he is right up there as well. In fact, I think it's the best trumpet version I've ever heard. Sorry, Mr. James.
