I cleaned my Seeburg R mech by spraying it with denatured alcohol & got all that old grease & oil out. Had to remove the clutch & spray it with DA & also cleaned & lubed the transfer arm mech because it wasn't pushing the record into play position fast enough before proceeding to clamp it.
I always wondered how/where you got your knowledge for these electronics and being able to fix things. Never would have guessed you owned your own shop, I just figured you did it for fun
I just finished cleaning and relubing the entire mech on my Rock-Ola 478. That was fun.lol I did it in two stages. I pulled the gripper mech out, completely disassembled, cleaned off all old oil and grease, and relubed. Just did the magazine assembly the other day. The juke worked before this, but much smoother now. Glad I'm done.
@Trance88 It will play 7" 33 RPM records along with 7" 45's...there is a switch that detects the large or small hole of the record when it is loaded and switches in the autospeed generator for a small-hole 33 RPM record. They are not all that common but we have found a few of them.
Hello picked up this 1968 seeburg LS-2 jukebox you are viewing overall in great condition but cannot get it working, the motor is working but when i hit the scan switch the scanning mechanism does not move, cannot play anything or reject, also how do you no if your service switch has gone bad, any help asap would be greatly appreciated, to note it does look very dirty below mech. Thanks
@Trance88 Seeburg made a home console jukebox that looks like a console stereo of the period that plays 12" 33-1/3 LP records...I have restored 3 of them. They were made in the late 60's thru the early 70's...They have a telephone dial to "dial up" the record # you want to play on the earlier ones! They sound awesome, too! Watch Ebay for one...they usually go for around 300 bucks. Some have an 8-track & AM/FM radio built in, too!
Ron Rich's Seeburg Mechanism Guide shows some good methods of cleaning and lubing these juke mechanisms. Watch out for the terminals on the motor capacitor, they store a strong electric charge!
I had this very same jukebox many years ago and sold it. I do have an LS-2 or later model mechanism with all the electronics to operate by a wall box. It will not select plays from the wall box, it just scans and shuts off. If you pull out the tormat input plug it will stop and select, and then proceed to scan and shut off. It probably needs some recapping in the receiver unit. .Nice work on the LS-2
the other way and i know it goes like only one way or something but uh in the process of doing that i jammed up the record player and i took it out of the stereo because i knew it would just be kinda a waste to have it in there when it stoped workiing well a few days back uh i decided to see if i could take off the thing that the record sit on or w/e uh i ended up messing up the spindle locking thing so if you could like help me out like send me a message or something id greatly apriciate it
nice uh say retro chad uh im into older stuff uh ive got an old electrohome console stereo and uh the last time that it was working it seemed like it played slower than normal and it would have like have a winding sound to it when you when you would have it on uh i just gotta say i tried to see if i could get it to come out of it by putting my hands on there to rotate it to the

What capacitance were the old speaker output caps, and what size did you replace them with?

Shouldn't you get all those loose records out of the bottom?

You have to credit Seeburg for making their jukeboxes easy to disassemble/service, even if the Tormat stumps some.
