@Patatofagos No. He should be Thor which is what his character is based on. Due to his age he should play ODIN but then these are comic books. It was a great portrayal of an avatar worthy of being Thor right down the thunder at his funeral

Nice music, it's "Promentory" on the soundtrack from the movie "The Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day Lewis and Russel Means. Good choice, it was a really great movie too.
but (again) Norwegian vikings are the ones who "raped" scotland, ireland, wales and all the tiny islands between england and ireland. and we had allso a thing to do with the invasion of East coast of England cuz tha was a combined assault by norway and the danes. and we had allso the last real viking king. Harald Hardraade and if you read some history (no sarcasm) youl see that a berserk stood on stamford bridge in three days i think and killed evryone who stood against him.
Harald Hårdråde got a arrow through his neck when he fought the saxons in England, he was not the king who ''raped'' the british isles. He had the same goal as William the conquer, but his soldiers wasn't ready for that kind of shit-battle. Variang guard pwns those fags.

do you know what berserk means ? a drugged , huge , dirty barbarian soldier that wants to die to reach heavens .... so , the culture from germany in that times was formed by barbarians , germans that are part of the nordic tribes .
lol a berserker is a crack storm trooper of the norse armies. best warriors of them all they believe to be possed by the spirits of bears and wolves. and guided by destiny only through an honorable death on the batle field can they enter the hall of valhalla. i call it culture and honor of a diferent sort
No. It's a myth that they used drugs. They were a part of a religious cult. You present the stereotypical view on vikings, you dont know what you are saying.
no you're an ignorant fool, a viking is a profession not a group from a perticular nation. there were vikings from sweden norway denmark and germania.
Norse/Germanic paganism was just that, Norse/Germanic paganism. Asatru is recontruscted Norse/Germanic paganism from te best of our knowledge. There are things that we gather from the Prose Edda, Poetic Edda, monoliths, archeology, as well as the Hávamál to reconstruct the Nore and Germanic Paganism.
ah now i see what you mean :d yeah ur right, never really thought about it that way.... ive been looking around a bit, but i suppose i migh as wel ask somebody like you.... what would you recommend as a reading?
i mean, the christians have their bible, what scriptures should i read on asatru? i want to see some real stuff, not things from wikipedia.
i know you can help me, and as you are one of my people, i know you"ll help me.
@segra793 Er. Germanic people, and with them Asatru, originated in the north. So there was no spreading from "Germany" to the north, but the other way around. Don't call people dumb when you don't know these things.
@mogh07 Well how do u know you wernt there, all you have is His story whoever he might be. I thought it took a while for the ice to retreat from europe so scandinavia was settled after germany...i dont know >8^p. Asatru?
to say vikings didnt have skill just proves how ignorant you are these are people who are raised in war and thir culture teaches them that they must die honorably in battle to enter their heaven and prepare for the final battle of the gods. and you tell me these people didnt have any skill, even though these people beat the romans in many battles. and eventually their kinsmen brought about the fall of rome. spartans were great so were samurais, dif cultures dif times spartans first! though
Not at all. Harald Hårdråde had real skilled soldiers in his "Army".
"They were always drunk" myth. haven't been proved. The armys who took big defend citys were NO WAY taken by drunk horny scandinavians. There were good soldiers aswell
haha you are quiet late with your comment.... Peace! you think vikings were the best soldiers in the world i think spartans and samurais were... but obviously it is not relevant anymore...unfortunately nowerdays the military power of a nation does not depend on skill or strength but on ABC-Weapons of Massdestruction.... we europeans had our time now its the time for the usa, for russsia, for china and for india! Europ had a great past but the future looks bad
Whe white people must cuntinue our fight to surwievel and fights our enamyes. it has been soo in the past and it will bee soo in the future.Long live the hwite and norse man!!
because in the film, they tried to reproduce old norse... it was the swedish vikings, who sailed along the rivers of todays russia, and that's the place where in this movie they meet the arabic traveller. The movie is about the varangians (swedish vikings)
But I have seen an interview with the actor who was from norway and he said that everyone in the cast had to learn norwegian and they did speak norwegian in the first part of the film. I just think its strange that they didn't use swedish actor's or the swedish language since the film was based on swedish vikings as you are saying.
as far as I know, among all the Scandinavian languages Norse is the most 'archaic' (after Icelandic, of course)... but I don't know, what other reasons the director with this decision had... it's an interesting question...
To be completely anal about this issue, a certain Harald Hardråde was a varangian guard, and so were numerous other scandinavians, but the majority would sail with swedish ships and swedish soldiers. The split wassnt a national one, but a regional one.
varangian ore Varyags was Scandinavian colonists from svea, rus, gotar, and also some from the baltics who whent eastwards and southwards through what is now russia.
the thing is my friend. that this is maybe rus vikings ore Varangians that have been in aribic countries and some maybe had been in spain. but also this is a movie ala hollywood prudoction. :)
You're right, Eskil, they're supposed to be Rus vikings. Why Beowulf is with them beats me... The movie is a strange hollywood mix of pretty much everything. There's no denying it, mate. :D
Ahmad ibn Fadlan was a 10th century write, and supposedly, Beowulf lived in the 5th century.
These guys are way ahead of their time with late-age medieval armour and weapons.
no one called beowulf in this movie(was there)and don`t forget the vikings lost the battle that counted in England, harold defeated them and they never came back
That was so well done, and yes I immediately recognized the music from another great movie. But the music is still secondary to the expressions on Vlad's face, which really captured his talent, as well as amazing appeal. Thanks
In the film all actors look like REAL warriors, but Buliwyf looks like an real warrior king, he is more than an awesome fighter, he is very intelligent, und that makes him to the most deadlyest warrior
Thank you..'nice collage footage of Actor Vladimir Kulich and Cast in whom all done an amazing job in this Historical Viking movie his protrayal of Bewolf was outstanding. Thanks!

IchKommeAufJotunheim 2 years ago
asatru is new? :s then what did they call it in the old days?
or do you mean new on a historical base? when comparing it to ancient egypt and such, yes, i guess its rather new
ArctanThardus 2 years ago
Norse/Germanic paganism was just that, Norse/Germanic paganism. Asatru is recontruscted Norse/Germanic paganism from te best of our knowledge. There are things that we gather from the Prose Edda, Poetic Edda, monoliths, archeology, as well as the Hávamál to reconstruct the Nore and Germanic Paganism.
IchKommeAufJotunheim 2 years ago
ah now i see what you mean :d yeah ur right, never really thought about it that way.... ive been looking around a bit, but i suppose i migh as wel ask somebody like you.... what would you recommend as a reading?
i mean, the christians have their bible, what scriptures should i read on asatru? i want to see some real stuff, not things from wikipedia.
i know you can help me, and as you are one of my people, i know you"ll help me.
Hail to Odin!
ArctanThardus 2 years ago
@segra793 Er. Germanic people, and with them Asatru, originated in the north. So there was no spreading from "Germany" to the north, but the other way around. Don't call people dumb when you don't know these things.
mogh07 1 year ago
@mogh07 Well how do u know you wernt there, all you have is His story whoever he might be. I thought it took a while for the ice to retreat from europe so scandinavia was settled after germany...i dont know >8^p. Asatru?
OneMove33 1 year ago
to say vikings didnt have skill just proves how ignorant you are these are people who are raised in war and thir culture teaches them that they must die honorably in battle to enter their heaven and prepare for the final battle of the gods. and you tell me these people didnt have any skill, even though these people beat the romans in many battles. and eventually their kinsmen brought about the fall of rome. spartans were great so were samurais, dif cultures dif times spartans first! though

And i guess that you my friend must be a retard!
Zitor666 3 years ago
Not at all. Harald Hårdråde had real skilled soldiers in his "Army".
"They were always drunk" myth. haven't been proved. The armys who took big defend citys were NO WAY taken by drunk horny scandinavians. There were good soldiers aswell
segra793 2 years ago
haha you are quiet late with your comment.... Peace! you think vikings were the best soldiers in the world i think spartans and samurais were... but obviously it is not relevant anymore...unfortunately nowerdays the military power of a nation does not depend on skill or strength but on ABC-Weapons of Massdestruction.... we europeans had our time now its the time for the usa, for russsia, for china and for india! Europ had a great past but the future looks bad

naturmystikk0 3 years ago
because in the film, they tried to reproduce old norse... it was the swedish vikings, who sailed along the rivers of todays russia, and that's the place where in this movie they meet the arabic traveller. The movie is about the varangians (swedish vikings)
Gutenberg1 3 years ago
But I have seen an interview with the actor who was from norway and he said that everyone in the cast had to learn norwegian and they did speak norwegian in the first part of the film. I just think its strange that they didn't use swedish actor's or the swedish language since the film was based on swedish vikings as you are saying.
naturmystikk0 3 years ago
as far as I know, among all the Scandinavian languages Norse is the most 'archaic' (after Icelandic, of course)... but I don't know, what other reasons the director with this decision had... it's an interesting question...
Gutenberg1 3 years ago
To be completely anal about this issue, a certain Harald Hardråde was a varangian guard, and so were numerous other scandinavians, but the majority would sail with swedish ships and swedish soldiers. The split wassnt a national one, but a regional one.
Superhaze 3 years ago
varangian ore Varyags was Scandinavian colonists from svea, rus, gotar, and also some from the baltics who whent eastwards and southwards through what is now russia.
Eskil8595 3 years ago
Wow. Way to go. Exactly what I wrote in the post above.

That Movie is about the Swedish Vikings(Ruserna) And that guy is playing the Swedish war Chief "Buliwyf".

naturmystikk0 3 years ago
joonte1010 3 years ago
Eskil8595 3 years ago

what is the song??

I never quite understood why this guy is dressed in fullplate armour, and why another seems to be wearing what looks like a spanish Morion Helmet.
SwingingRingaDing 3 years ago
Might have been a helmet like that :P I saw a gladiator helmet in the movie aswell hehe.
Kinda cool.
Tyllestein 3 years ago
the thing is my friend. that this is maybe rus vikings ore Varangians that have been in aribic countries and some maybe had been in spain. but also this is a movie ala hollywood prudoction. :)
Eskil8595 3 years ago
You're right, Eskil, they're supposed to be Rus vikings. Why Beowulf is with them beats me... The movie is a strange hollywood mix of pretty much everything. There's no denying it, mate. :D
Ahmad ibn Fadlan was a 10th century write, and supposedly, Beowulf lived in the 5th century.
These guys are way ahead of their time with late-age medieval armour and weapons.
SwingingRingaDing 3 years ago 3
@SwingingRingaDing People in Scandinavia bought what armour they could afford personally. Hence the varying apparels.
