  • is that launchcontrol that you use?

  • @skunkie1989

This is the default setting of the car. There isn't a switch or a software option for this.

  • @real3GT I wish I had that on my 1.9cdti Astra

  • so much turbo and its going no where lol

  • @tea

  • @urbex2007 a flop in the uk! I think you will find it has been anything but.

  • hello! what is your average fuel consumption in l/100km? thx

  • @nicolas3pa

    It's about 6,6 l/100km

with 70% on motorway, 20% in city, 10% on other roads.

    Motorway: 130 km/h (2050 RPM in 6th gear), city: 50-70 km/h (1250-1700 RPM in 4th gear), other roads: 80-100 km/h (1300-1650 RPM in 6th gear).

I usually shift about 1750-2000 RPM.

  • It's a good car, but weighs far too much and 160BHP is eqivalent to driving a 1.7 astra if you take all that extra weight in to consideration. Now GM/Vauxhall are making their own engines and copying the VW idea of small engine with turbo, it's going to be a disaster. The Insignia was a flop in the UK and is in the same rubbish bin as the Ford Mondeo that was driven by sales reps!

200BHP from a 2litre diesel would be far better and give some performance!

  • @urbex2007 I agree with you: it's too heavy. But on the other side, it's passive safety is better than the Astra. Trade-off. And you're right. A diesel with more power would be pleasant. :)

I don't know the UK price of the Insignia, but in Hungary, there's about 1,5 million HUF (about 4500 GBP) difference between the Insingia and the Passat. It's a large amount of money and I think this is not equal with the quality difference. The Passat don't worth its additional price.

  • @real3GT Opel/Vauxhall have been working with Saab to develop a 190bhp 'BiTurbo' diesel for the Insignia that was supposed to be introduced in 2010 but due to the recent financial problems with Saab, the introduction of the new engine has been delayed until early next year. Sounds like a great engine though :)

  • Were you using the launch control? (car only revs to 3000 if clutch depressed)

  • @jgh548 This is the default setting of the car. There isn't a switch or a software option for this.

  • @real3GT Yeah, I have the same on my Elite. I'm just wondering if the purpose of that setting is to act as a launch control feature, seeing as it seems to have that effect.

How do you find the refinement on the CDTi engine?

  • @jgh548 Bonus feature from Opel. :) But I don't like that, because I want to keep the RPM higher at the start.

I'm very disappointed with the car's NVH, because it's a high-value vehicle and I expected more for my money. In spite of these things, it has a good powertrain. The consumption is excellent, the emission is low and the driving characteristics is great (except the long gear ratios.. I like them only at the gas station ;)

  • It's a good question. There're two versions: it's a drilled 1.9 MultiJet or an own GM product. I don't know, because I never drive the 1.9 MultiJet.

  • Opel engine or Fiat engine?

  • @kushtrimm3 opel engine ;)

  • I would still eat it until 170kmh with my Kadett GSi cabrio (c20ne).. until it isnt any faster than my 20year old Kadett, its labeled as "slow" ;)

  • @Sanyey I don't know, but maybe, you're right.

Because Kadett's weight is 62,5%, power is 71,875% of Insignia's weight and power... And Kadett has a petrol engine...

  • niente di speciale...

  • what is your impression of the continental tyre? I have the same, and i think its very good on snow!

  • @killer576

I used it only in dry surface, because the weather was mild here for now. But the forecast said, there will be a lot of snow soon. When it will happen, I will write to you about my impressions and I will make a video like with Corsa (find in my other videos).

  • @killer576

So, there is some snow now. I think they are good winter tyres in my country. (There is some snow, but usually the road is wet, rather than snowy.) The braking on dry and wet surface is perfect, but on snow, I wish more grip. The steering is a bit slow on all type of surfaces. The noise from the tyres is very low and the rolling resistance is not very high, so the fuel consumption is very adequate. I think these tyres were made for no sporting, but traveling. Like the car..
