Is Afghan Whigs' song, 'Crazy' on youtube? It was the first song I ever heard by them but can't find it. It's given me the chance to discover their other stuff though. Recently split up with my boyfriend after living together for 2 years, and I couldn't even listen to 'Something Hot' til the end. I don't want to feel that much. :(

@omedicius I heard it on a free CD I got with a magazine in about 1997. Can't remember which magazine it was, or much else that was on the CD. Crazy and a Sebadoh song were the only ones I really liked, but Afghan Whigs were the winners by far. Played that song over and over.

@omedicius It totally changed my mood first time I heard it too. It's one of those that can make you think, "I can hardly believe this song exists, and thank god it does." It lifted my mood everytime I listened to it again. Just a great song with transformative power.

no disrespect to the artist, but I like the New Amsterdams cover better. I honestly didn't even know that it was a cover. I thought it was original New Ams. Pretty cool nonetheless. Always cool to hear originals to cover you enjoy.

I read an interview with Greg some time ago and he stated that the whole 'Gentlemen' album, all the songs were about this one relationship with this chick which was so fucked that it really messed him up. He wrote the songs about her after they broke up and the first night he went on stage to perform songs from the album he looks down in to the crowd and there she is just staring at him, as a result he pissed his pance or had a panic attack or something?

the gentlemen album comes across to me as a concept album. an epic about a young man growing up and the way relationships with women will affect his life, for better or worse. i bought the album originally because the cover spoke to me in an undefinable way. glad i did. its a genius record and it deserves much respect.
