i live in the middle of no where alabama and we just got a frolf frisbee+golf as my friend calls it and i shoot like 2 over on 9 holes and i hit chains on number 7 it was so great it fellt amazing!!! if it had went in i wud have freaked out rock on dude!
I made a long putt at the Am DG World Championships in Nasville back in 2001 that went right through the basket below the rim and ended up in the basket.
cubby. i just got an ace with a portable basket that i brought to the park across the street from my house. i threw a champion valkyrie too high, but far to the right, it bounced off of a tree branch and into the chains. should've gotten it on video
Hey Cubby, I just bought a disc, the Surge ESP by discraft. I own this, the Pro Destroyer, and the Valkyrie. I'm just getting into disc, are these good discs?
I've had one of those before. It was with a innova wolf on a 140 foot hole. It was pretty different. You might like to check out a couple of aces I've got on film
My favorite driver is a Champion Firebird a great disc for Skip Shots and "S" shots. When I need distance I like a Champion Wraith or Orc. For straight drives I like the KC PRo Cheetah. I alos drive with the Beast, Valkyrie and Teebird.
If you were very anal, would that count as a hole in one? If you were playing pdga or something? It's more than halfway outside the basket. Anyone know the exact rules about that? We were discussing it last time we played.
btw I can only throw sidearm. My backhand only goes about 100.
B. Disc Entrapment Devices: In order to hole out, the thrower must release the disc and it must come to rest supported by the chains or within one of the entrapment sections. This includes a disc wedged into or hanging from the lower entrapment section but excludes a disc resting on top of, or hanging outside of, the upper entrapment section. The disc must also remain within the chains or entrapment sections until removed.
BAM! with the extreme even. i always carry one, it's a great "trouble" disc on the courses around here. (northwest illinois) and they'll skip just as far as they fly too. woot.
Yes,, i can only throw 50-75 feet side-arms now..otherwise it bothers my should. I need to learn to throw like cubby does...Can cubby make an instructional video?
Not that an instructional video from Cubby would be any kind of source of authority on the correct way to throw but I could cover things that work for me in my throw. I'll work on something.
I'd recommend checking out pdga on here... I found a pdga video that was an hour long and about 20 minutes in, a pdga player/pro shows how to throw a sidearm.
If you wedged the disc in the side of the basket on your tee shot then you did get an Ace! The only thing that would not make it an Ace is if it slid out of the wedged position onto the ground before you were able to remove it. Congrats to you if it stayed wedged in!!

I've noticed a few guys tape their pointer finger. What kind of tape is it?
pats9495 2 years ago
The same stuff foootball players and boxers use to tape their hands and ankles.

did you put those black marks on your disks for any reason or is it just to identify them as yours?
zoop504 2 years ago
The contrast between the black X (used a sharpie marker to make the X) and the disc makes it easier to see the disc on the ground at night.
DiscGolfer 2 years ago
haha I make sharpie smiley faces for the same reason haha
ExodusTTT 2 years ago
on the pdga tour would that count as an ace or would you have to drop it under the basket?
anyway, that was a nice shot!
arach613 2 years ago
According to the rules the disc wedge in the basket counts as holing out so it is an Ace.
DiscGolfer 2 years ago
Haha, ill try yelling at the disc and see if it helps..nice work

Here is the PDGA rule (803.13) for holing out:
DiscGolfer 4 years ago
As my disc is wedged in the lower entrapment section (the basket) and it remained there until I removed it, per the rule it is a valid Ace.
DiscGolfer 4 years ago
That is why I was running down to the basket after the shot to make sure it did not slip out of the wedged position and on to the ground.

Well thank you very much. Screwy judges at Burnes Park, Little Rock, AR just don't get it I guess. It was an easy hole though, and a lucky shot.

Wait...I've had one of those in a tournament, and they said it didn't count. So I HAVE had an ace, when I only thought I had hit basket before.
dumbposerfreak 4 years ago
If you wedged the disc in the side of the basket on your tee shot then you did get an Ace! The only thing that would not make it an Ace is if it slid out of the wedged position onto the ground before you were able to remove it. Congrats to you if it stayed wedged in!!
