  • I saw a guitar there somewhere, have you tried to do any recording on the tx2500?

  • you are so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thaks so much for uploading these vids. I've always loved the tablet design and the tx2500z is so innovative! Your review has definitely cinched my decision to buy this. :)

  • I WAN'IT!

  • Can it play halo 2 pc

  • appreciate the great review... this was set of videos was actually a lot more helpful than tech tv reviews. lol go figure. thanks again.

  • UPDATE: i made my decision and settled for the tx2z. PROS: + multi touch screen (compatible with win7!) + capable of 8 gigs of ram MAX (vs 4 gig on the 2500) + fingerprint reader on R side of screen + better keyboard finish IMO + improved heat output vs tx2500 + whiter, brighter, LED lit screen CONS: - wacom > n-trig. the lack of pen "eraser" that the wacom had is sorely missed as far as price goes, the tx2z can be around $800 now with coupons floating around. not bad!
  • Lol, I saw that 4chan folder :P

  • where do you buyd it an for howmuch ?

( sorry for my typing )

  • dude i just bought my tx2500 it rocks your videos help me a lot to take the decision and buying it i really like the side bar things but for some reason I cant find the iStat gadgets help me out please thanks

  • First off-- GREAT reviews on the tx2500.

I purchased the 2500 with the $400 coupon that was offered about a week ago. Out the door for with UPGRADES: 2.1 ghz, fingerprint, and BT was $730.00

Would you say that was a good deal? Now that the tx2z is released, i'm reconsidering. Your previous comments seem to favor capacitative touch. Although reviews I've read say it needs a lot of work...

With that said, would it be worth the premium of $200-300 to upgrade? Or should I stick with what i got...

  • why u dont use touch?? ....mojon,,,(in spanish

  • Thanks for the good review.

  • wtf man, ths guy is giving us good reviews and ur dicking him around man. ur not gonna get a girlfriend urself if u be a bitch to people who help u.

  • Get better shit to do, faggot.

  • i think someone is a little zealous ^^

  • dude, i need to get one of those, who i had to kill to get it?....

  • hi, i found that my tx2500z produced hissing sound, did you notice that too?

  • which one would you prefer? the tx2500z or the tx2z. Are there any special features that you like more about the tx2500z?

  • i think the tx2z does not have a touch pad but im not sure, hope this helps im definately gettin tx2500 :-)

  • I have ordered my tx2500z and it is on the way. I was wondering if you or any one else who bought the tx, would recommend any screen protectors? I don't know how soft the tip of the digitizer is and wonder if the screen is as easy to scratch as say a nintendo ds screen. Oh, and thanks for the power pointers, this should really help when I use it in class next semester.

  • no screen protector needed.

  • Well, I appreciated these 5 videos. It'll certainly influence the decision I'm making, deciding between the tx2500z and the tx2z. From what it looks like to me, this one will give the convenience I desire, while the tx2z's multitouch may be an unnecessary addition.

  • mass effect pc, baby!

  • have you ever played flight simulator X on this laptop? I'm looking at the 2.2ghz processor4gb of ram etc. do you think it will run smoothly?

  • how much u bought it for?

  • I am really interested in purchasing this computer! The only games I really play are Nancy Drew games, and here are the minimum requirements for them:

1 GHz or greater Pentium or equivalent class CPU,

    128 MB of RAM,

1 GB or more of hard drive space,

32 MB DirectX 9.0 compatible video card,

16 bit DirectX compatible sound card,

24X CD-ROM drive, mouse, and speakers

obviously, this computer exceeds the minimum requirements. Do you think it will run flawlessly on this computer?

  • lol...

    yes.

  • "The only games I really play are Nancy Drew games"

    i lol'd

  • i'm serious...

wow! i didn't know that'd be so entertaining! haha. =D

  • I laughed so hard. Thank you.

  • epic joke, dude.

  • I'm just laughing because you guys think i'm kidding...lol.

Glad I could entertain you guys..?

    Plus, I'm not a dude. =D

  • my bad, dudette.

  • Honey you need to play some other games...and get out more...

  • Hey Raiden72, Im buying tx2500z. will I be able to play Gears of War on it? pls.. thanks

  • Probably. I haven't tried it yet. Games are iffy on that machine.

  • google it.

  • i have can you please send direct link

  • go to your sidebar, click add gadgets, click "get more gadgets" and then search for "istat" there.

  • thhx alot i found it

  • can I play new games like COD4 or Crysis

    you know,games like those???

  • dud the reason ur game is running like that is cuz u have too much shit running in the background... close like half those things and it will run great

  • You have a lot to learn about computers...

  • i im using adobe premier pro cs3 it works perfectly

  • did you need to add any thing or did you take the lab top out the box install PS CS4 and use it or did you haveto add somthing for it to recognise the stylus in PS.

  • if u *cough cough* then u can *couch couch* and u will *cough couch* ^^

  • can it run Bioshock?

  • apple macbook or the hp tx2517cl???? (i think apple is just super popular) but wit this bad boy itsss sooo UNIQUE!!!! I don't see the gateway tablet that often at all. I'm taking notes on my laptop for all my classes. no notebooks for me.

  • I got 2 hours and 45 mins. on powersave mode just browsing the internet. i have the 32 bit.... I can't get 4GB unless I switch to 64 bit. I've heard some programs don't work well the the 64 bit.....

  • you are correct.

  • 64 0r 32-bit vista os?

  • god damn. 64 bit.

  • MAKE A PART SIX!!!!! :)battery life when u use it on high performance & just browse the internet) lasts about 2 hours.tomorrow I will test out how long balance & power save mode lasts.fingerprint reader only works wit Internet explorer when ur tryin 2 sign on 2 a website via ur finger (i've read u can download somethin 2 make it work 4 firefox but I doubt it works) the ONLY CON on this HP is how long it takes to start up.sometimes my music will stop 4 a sec. wen i open up a browser/surf.GREAT HP

  • Part 6 is probably a no-go. I think I covered pretty much everything really. The rest is up to you to research and find out for yourself.

I will, however, be making a Dell Latitude XT review soon with multi-touch stuff and basic positives and negatives of the machine. - Raiden

  • Hey! Thanks for the awesome reviews!

I would really like to know how does the tx2500 preform in video editing?

I'm planning on getting it to edit video and gonna buy an Firewire Express card to go along with it so I could connect my Mini-DV cam and transfer videos.

I hope it can work well. Not slow and skipping frames and so on... You know?

  • The processor gets really hot but yes it does fine in video editing.

  • Dont care much for the heat... :)

With what program did you edit videos?

I wish I could use Adobe Premiere Pro, but the minimum system requirments are much higher than the tx2500. But Pinnacle Studio's system requirments are lower than the tx2500 - so theoretically it should work. But have anyone tested it?

(I'm really afraid it would run the program, but will be really slow and un-usable for editing)

  • dont worry about system requirements. Any program will work.

    Just install them. Trust me.

  • I hope youre right.

I should get the laptop on September 26th.

    I'll post back here :P

  • this laptop is AWRESOME!!! I GOT THIS OVER AN APPLE :)!!! tablet/touchscreen rocks!!!! 12 inches= rocks, fingerprint=rocks (however only works with internet explorer) , It's normal for the computer to get hot when on performance. warm on balance. and it'll be normal in powersave mode. HP = rocks :)

  • Nice overviews with tx2500z! I'm planning to buy tx2105au, it's the latest model of hp tx2000 series here in the Philippines. And your overviews, gave me more reason to get one!! Thanks!

  • is there a a difference from HP TX2510 or the TX2520EA and which one do u hav

  • yes

  • No difference!

  • a bit grainy, yes. washed out? not really...

  • Hey there :)

I was wondering how the webcam quality is?

  • great for its size.

  • could you be a bit more specific as far as "great"?

  • It doesn't play newest games well at all. Older games like Call of Duty 2 play nicely. WoW plays great too.

  • it got better but its still a lil warm under the logo stickers, compared to the left side. does your laptop feel the same too?

  • Yes it's normal for it to be hot.

  • ok, i just changed to balanced, plugged in/ on batt: min 5% max 99% ( before i had it on power saver) hopefully this will make it less hot

  • this laptop gets too hot I can't even put my right hand down to type and i already changed all the power settings

  • try PUTTING it into balanced mode by clicking on the power icon once and then clicking the 'balanced' bubble.

  • hey, im considering this lappy or xps m1330, but the heat on this is such a minus (which ofcouse makes the fan noise)...i know xps uses c2d processors, and supposedly cooler idk seeing you own an xps 1) would you recommend this over an xps considering the heat factor.

    2) have u tried running ubuntu on it? any issues?

    thankx

  • I intend to buy the tx2520ef with 2.1 GHz, a guy says the graphic card will play games only on minimum/medium configuration. on what configuration did you play mass effect ? how would buying the one with 2.1 GHz affect the game compared to the 2.4 GHz ?

  • No affect. Can only play it on minimum.

  • hey i am thinking of getting this for college this fall but i was wondering should i get it on ebay or on the hp store, cause they don't sell the 2.4 processor no more. do u think is a big deal between a 2.2 to 2.4 and should i get it on ebay or not, cause my friends have a history of broken electronic through ebay

  • Get it from the HP store. Ebay is fine, but the HP store is better.

Also there's no big difference between the 2.2 and 2.4 except the 2.2 consumes less power and generates less heat. You get me?

  • thanks

ps. saw your HP DV7T vid. nice unboxing

how is it so far comparing to tx2500

  • they both have their really cool features. I love them both. I'd have to go with the DV7T because of the fact that it looks and feels one generation smarter. It looks a lot better than the Macbook. It is the smartest looking laptop I've had so far.

  • 64-bit is just fine actually.

The only problem with it is that it has trouble doing 16-bit programs and below.

It plays Starcraft just fine which is weird. I guess Blizzard fixed it for 64-bit.

  • hey whats up... I've been researching on the net and I've realized that there is a 'TX2525nr'... do you know anything about this one??? I would appreciate it, thanks!

  • There's really no difference in any TX25xx-xx models except the RAM and processor and hard drive speeds and capacities.

The core system is always the same. If it has "tx25XX-XX", it's a tx2500z.

There's a tx2510cl at Best Buy and some other models elsewhere.

  • ok thanks a lot!

  • You've just convinced me to buy the tx2500z. Thanks, great reviews. But now I'm scared to order one with 64-bit!

  • i was looking for the tx2000 series, went to circuit city just to look at it. i didn't like one thing, the screen!!!! it looked dark and not so clear so i got a lenovo ideapad y510 from their official site. but i'm still looking for a tablet. is 2500 any improvement over the 2000series?

  • I haven't seen the tx2000... but I'd say the tx2500z is slightly darker than my Dell XPS m1730's screen (maybe about 25% darker).

It's pretty good for a tablet pc. If you are in sunlight, you will have to try hard to see the screen though.

  • Hi,

On the old TX2000, people said the screen was grainy. Is the screen still grainy on the TX2500? In the video,it looks pretty clear to me

  • pretty clear... not very grainy at all...

  • i might be interested in your xps what specs we talking, and 1800 is a little steep for a used laptop

  • Already sold it for $1850 on ebay.

    4gb ram, 2.2ghz core 2 duo, dual 8700m GT Sli, 250gb 7,200rpm hdd, etc.

  • nice vid that was great advice

  • No. It was something with "2000" in it I forgot.

  • thx for the video raiden. I just got the laptop this week, and it is just as cool as I had imagined.

Regarding videogaming though, I found that it is incompatible with alot of stuff. That's probably because of the experimental ATI HD3200 videocard. I've had problems running Bioshock and Star Wars: Empire at War. Hopefully some newer drivers will fix these issues.

I've been trying to find a tray application that can monitor the heat in the laptop. Any suggestions?

  • coretemp.exe

  • Im trying to pick between either this or the macbook. Im about to go to college this fall what do you think

  • I'd say this notebook simply because it can take down notes. The macbook is great, but it IS a Mac and can only do so much...

  • Thanks man your videos are great. What specs would you recommend for me. And 64 bit or 32

  • 32-bit. 64-bit gives hassles.

  • 32 only supports up to 3gb ram right

  • Correct. But I never use more than about 2gb anyway.

Get 64bit if you're going to be doing a bunch of photoshop/etc work.

  • Shiiit, I ordered mine with 64bit OS. Same specs as yours, though, and I hope the hassles will go away when 64bit gets more popular.

  • Your Awesome. You encouraged me to buy it even more and i'm trying to convince my dad to get it for me. Is it posible to show what comes in the box. Thanks

  • Nothing much except a few cds, a manual, and a charger I guess... Trust me it's really not much.

  • What kins or CD's are included?

  • prolly bloat ware and word and stuff though dont be scared off new coputers bloat ware usually only consist (nowadays) of antivirus and photo viewers

  • I had the same stuttering problem with my HP dv6500z when I had it. I think it may be an issue with AMD's processors. Hopefully some new drivers will fix it.

And could you show off some touch screen Spore action please?

  • Spore is REALLY fun to play with the touchscreen because it only requires a mouse, and the left click most of the time. The right click-required games are harder because you either have to hold down on screen with pen to right click, or click the side button.

But spore is easy because it only requires click, mouse move, and click and hold (which touchscreen is made for).

I'll probably post some spore gameplay later on... just not now too busy with school. Thanks for the comment and rating!

  • thanks! i'm probably gonna buy this laptop

  • hey thanks

  • Do you think this is a good gaming pc? On a scale from 1 to 10 what do u think?

  • I'd say a 8/10 for its size. I'd also say a 4/10 for ability to play games.

It couldn't play Call of Duty 4 unless all the settings were put on low.

It can however, play World of Warcraft on max settings just fine.

Maybe AMD will come out with some new Radeon drivers to fix it.

  • I hope you're right about new drivers :(
