it's the little DOS chant/prayer/whatever they show in the opening cinema of the game. believe they're all just alternate names for God (except for amen, of course).
are you kidding me?!? the snes games were awesome! Compelling surreal storyline and gameplay that was both unique in it's time not to mention a very old school RPG feel to it. Another thing I liked about the Shin Megami Tensei games( The SNES ones especially) was that every song in it I liked a lot( I could not choose a favorite song over any of them because I liked every BGM that played in Shin Megami Tensei 1 and 2).

Sorry I just really didn't like the game on the SNES. It wasn't my thing, there were far better RPGs during that time, and this was really far behind on it. Although I will give it props storyline wise, that was unique and you wouldn't get the same results, but I think later consoles really polished up the SMT series. So the SNES games were just terrible to me in my opinion.
The soundtrack was undoubtedly special. In my opinion, it was probably one of the most unique at the time (when compared to other RPG soundtracks of course). I love the music that plays 24 second in.
SMT I and II are great, probably my favorite music of SNES RPGs too.

Wow, that soundtrack is just beautiful. There's a good mix between harder songs and softer, more emotional songs.

Many of these songs were outstandingly remixed for SMT: Nocturne, my second favourite RPG after Persona 4 that is.

6:31 sounds like it's gonna bust right into Don't Let It End by Styx.

One of the early dungeon BGMs in this game was remixed for SMT Imagine(used in Suginami Tunnels there), but it sounds best here.

I'd count SMT: Nocturne on the PS2 as a real English SMT game.
