These cars are an epic FAIL, if you ever use the launch assist even just once, then your warranty is void! How fkn lame is that? @EuroRicer Built my F100 back there and more recently swapped the stock motor for a built small block. The Cobra has just been sitting there though. Hasn't really taken off and the real project now is a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine. Everything else has been restored so the only thing left for it is the new motor. Leaving all the Alpine emblems on it but it's getting a 289 small block now. Just to piss of the Tiger owners hehehe.

@EuroRicer Find a short bed F100. They're worth more. I would say get one pre 1974 if you're in Cali so you don't need to worry about smog. Other than that the only notable maintenance thing I would mention is that if you ever decide to pull the intake manifold off for whatever reason, you're going to need 1 or even 2 other guys to help you because it's damn heavy. Reason being is that the big block intakes also include half of the head construction. The heads are much smaller due to this.

Everybody keeps downing the ZR1 in here. Yeah it has a BIG motor, but its still got pushrods and one cam sitting in the middle of the block. GM figured if its not broken why the hell would they fix it. It takes every bit of modern technology to get the GT-R going anywhere. The Corvette on the other hand dont need electronic tranny controls, and all that bullshit that cant be fixed by no one other than a Technician with the equipment to fix it..... You get the point!

Does handle amazing, but its apparently actually pretty hard to drive. And does understeer a good bit due to AWD but sticks like glue due to all the computer assists.
It is VERY heavy to turn, but the driver is what makes it stick like glue. Keeping your foot planted in a tight corner just has consequences... A professional driver can keep the same levels of grip in just about any car given a good setup with suspension and tyres... but people just think "omg GT-R i can corner faster than everything" which is false
That doesn't only happen in GT-R's but every high performance car. They think because it costs a lot, is fast and handles well that they can do just that, hold it wide open in corners and it'll just stick.
@frenchguy09 a computer will not defy physics merely grant you an extra margin for error by stepping in before you run into a law (of physics) or a tree. It will not defy "bodies in motion will stay in motion untill acted on by an equal and oposite force" see thats that science stuff that tells you when you fuckup in a supercar at 100+ you're going to be going for a long ways.
Yeah so, all you rednecks can compare it to is a big block V8. Now if we called that video by engine size it would be: 3.8 V6 vs. massive 6.2 V8. That in no way is fair.
@xmodscarbonslost ZR1 also pulls a higher skid pad rating, and better braking capabilities. The reason I don't like the GT-R is Nissan's attitude about it. Mid 400 hp range, but Nissan has made the engine basically 'closed' so it cant be built, modded, or anything really. At least Chevrolet is giving the ZR1 some tunability with the LS9. The entire LS-line of engines from Chevrolet have been great in terms of customization. The GTR is cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
@weaverracing96 Um you should check out the tuners that have done work to these. There is a company working on 1khp at the ground. They have an 850hp that knocks down a 9.8 or so 1/4 on street tires.

@xmodscarbonslost Big engine, bigger heavier car, and power isn't everything, go watch old school touring car races where Mini's were not only racing camaros and mustangs but giving them a good competition. The ZR-1 actually outperforms the GT-R in every sense except 0-60 where they are dead even. BUT to max out the ZR-1 u basically have to be a professional. A normal person can get much more performance outta the GT-R than the ZR-1 any day. It's all just a matter of preference.

dam that sucks! I saw one on the highway going about 200-210 nice and everything we went mile down the highway the car flipped a total of 20 and times ended up like yours the kid died and he was young. he crashed his cars into a van turning into his lane not knowing the kid was speeding by the time he moved out the way the kid hit the back of the van he was flipping nasty style!! the skid marks were crazy black chunks of rubber ripped off after trying too stop at his speeds.Sorry about your car

Everybody keeps downing the ZR1 in here. Yeah it has a BIG motor, but its still got pushrods and one cam sitting in the middle of the block. GM figured if its not broken why the hell would they fix it. It takes every bit of modern technology to get the GT-R going anywhere. The Corvette on the other hand dont need electronic tranny controls, and all that bullshit that cant be fixed by no one other than a Technician with the equipment to fix it..... You get the point!

@JayGeePee1 thats exactly why its not that great of a car either, its to american lazy made. anyone can make a car that can go fast, but you also have to think how its built. all that electronic stuff actually serves a purpose to how the car works. unlike jsut a big motor make you go fast...straight. the gtr is an amazingly great car and the technology and time took built into the gtr is really something else.

The Nissan GTR has one of the best handling ever..Plus it's got 4wd and onboard computers which prevent it from understeering and all.These drivers must be really shit at driving for having wrecked a car like that , unless if it's the other person's who collided with them or something

Does handle amazing, but its apparently actually pretty hard to drive. And does understeer a good bit due to AWD but sticks like glue due to all the computer assists.

It is VERY heavy to turn, but the driver is what makes it stick like glue. Keeping your foot planted in a tight corner just has consequences... A professional driver can keep the same levels of grip in just about any car given a good setup with suspension and tyres... but people just think "omg GT-R i can corner faster than everything" which is false

That doesn't only happen in GT-R's but every high performance car. They think because it costs a lot, is fast and handles well that they can do just that, hold it wide open in corners and it'll just stick.

@frenchguy09 a computer will not defy physics merely grant you an extra margin for error by stepping in before you run into a law (of physics) or a tree. It will not defy "bodies in motion will stay in motion untill acted on by an equal and oposite force" see thats that science stuff that tells you when you fuckup in a supercar at 100+ you're going to be going for a long ways.

@xmodscarbonslost ZR1 also pulls a higher skid pad rating, and better braking capabilities. The reason I don't like the GT-R is Nissan's attitude about it. Mid 400 hp range, but Nissan has made the engine basically 'closed' so it cant be built, modded, or anything really. At least Chevrolet is giving the ZR1 some tunability with the LS9. The entire LS-line of engines from Chevrolet have been great in terms of customization. The GTR is cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

@weaverracing96 Um you should check out the tuners that have done work to these. There is a company working on 1khp at the ground. They have an 850hp that knocks down a 9.8 or so 1/4 on street tires.

We would be stuck with the 400hp unless we spent tens of thousands of dollars to send it off to a professional tuning shop. Honestly I'm a V8 man, I have a corvette, monte ss, etc. But I like Nissan, I just dont like how unaccessible high hp is for normal people on this car. On a somewhat related note, I really really like the 370Z/G37

@xmodscarbonslost Big engine, bigger heavier car, and power isn't everything, go watch old school touring car races where Mini's were not only racing camaros and mustangs but giving them a good competition. The ZR-1 actually outperforms the GT-R in every sense except 0-60 where they are dead even. BUT to max out the ZR-1 u basically have to be a professional. A normal person can get much more performance outta the GT-R than the ZR-1 any day. It's all just a matter of preference.

We both know that no sensible person honestly believes a car with 150 more horsepower and weighing 200kg less should only be 0.3 seconds quicker over thirteen miles of track. That is unquestionably a failure for the ZR1. The very fact is it a mishmash of parts and old technology (ie the chassis for example) can put testimony to why it underperforms. And how fitting that a high-tech car like the GTR is the one to humiliate it. You... got...sonned.

The ZR1 is an inferior car in the way of build quality, technology and prestige compared to almost any sports/supercar out there. That is a fact my Civic driving friend. If you care to direct your nonsensical ramblings into a specific area i would be happy to correct you. But you don't, because you know nothing.

@bedbug84 I have humiliated chumps like you for years on the ZR1 vs GTR debate. Let me give you some food for thought. A 13 mile nurburgring, a ZR1 which is 200+kg lighter and 150hp more powerful than a GTR and YET it is only 0.3 of a second quicker? That is HUMILIATING for Chevrolet. The box frame chassis is not up to modern standards. LEAF SPRINGS on suspension. MALIBU steering wheel. An interior thats reported to CREAK like a 16th century ship. ZR1 is a joke. Disagree? LET'S GO.
