  • Why you take my post away?

    Floaty my fav...

Thats not as big as what flown around Fuck Here!!!!

  • i remember floating for the first time! :D

  • I can't wait to see these guys in December, and Dave did play all the instruments, recorded and sang all the vocals on this album, except for the guitar on x-static (played by Greg Dulli). The album versions ARE all Dave except (as mentioned earlier) for the guitar on x-static, recording and all.

  • OMG IVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE FOO FIGHTERS. THIS SONG GOES WITH MY LIST OF AWSOME BANDS ALONG SIDE GREEN DAY NIVARNA INCUBUS DAUGHTY AND ALL THE OTHER AWSOME BANDS

  • WOW new favourite song

  • Shouldn't "their" technically be "his"

  • fuck ass shit piss dam godsmack

  • Reminds me of Shiver by Coldplay

  • @deadlyduk no. just no.

  • @wntw319 It's really similar. SO suck it.

  • @deadlyduk Only the intro of "Shiver" is similar to this song. I would like to point out that Dave recorded "Floaty" in October of 1994 and Coldplay released "Shiver" in March 2000. So tell me Cecil.... who copied who? Dumb ass.

  • agreed...dave grohl is complete genius. he can really do no wrong in my eyes.

  • thumbs up for being 420 mins long lmao

  • Best album indeed

  • foo were the greatest band ever back then. sometime around 2001 they got this idea in their heads that they had to start playing nu-metal to stay on the radio... wtf were they thinking. Radio? What a bunch of assholes. This album mattered.

  • @instereovideos they matured..

  • @Jhosk95 yeah... becoming more nu-metal is my definition of growing up...

  • I used to absolutely love this song and the whole debut album when I was 17/18 and still do. Listening to it here brings back many happy memories. My other favourites from the album include 'Good Grief', 'X-Static' and 'Exhausted', all fucking banging tunes.

  • Fucking love this album... Grohl MUST be god, no regular human can make something like this by himself!

  • This and the colour and the shape are the best foo albums

I like every foo album but Echoes Silence Paitence and Grace is my least favorite foo album.

  • Nice Track!

  • Thanks for posting. It's about a dream eh? That means the lyrics must be a stream of UNconsciousness.

  • best song ever!!

man i just wish the foo fighters were still around

dont make fun of me if they are still 'playing'

  • Wish I was floating away with Dave! Lol! UFO's I want to find out for myself!

  • this song makes me smile its so cute :3

  • This album has that garage rock/home recorded sound to it that newer over-produced albums can't match. Makes it classic.

  • Foo Fightas <3

  • The beginning sounds like But Honestly

  • chorus makes me wanna have sex

  • the lyrics´ structure is pure kurt...

  • love this album ive gone threw 4 copies and the one i have now doesnt work good lol might be time for a new one still cant believe i was 9 when this came out and i still listen to it

  • maybe its about pennywise the dancing clown. WE ALL FLOAT DOWN HERE....??? or just a big turd someone left . good regardless

  • One of my top 10 albums of all time! Im thankful to Dave Grohl for bringing such great amount of happiness in my life due to the music he has created. Im forever a Foo Fighter fan!

  • pat smear is a beast and my fav song on first album, w/e the fuck happened to them?

  • I still like them even today but not as much as in the earlier part of their careers. The Pretender was the best tune they'd put out in years.

  • @aaleekhan only grohl played and recorded these tracks except for xstatic

  • glad to have bought that albul many years ago... grohl rocks

  • Remember runnin home sweaty wi anticipation wi this album. Only to be blown away by this song. Why was it never a single?

  • i luv this old stuff!!!

  • the flanger effect is awesome :D

  • brings back some great memories for me this song.well done for the upload.

  • the album was the second i bought after the color and the shape. but i know this was their first. love the music till this day!

  • Still love the Foo's/Dave's first album. Thanks for posting.

  • Actually the lyrics are, thats not as big as the small round here. Followed by thats not as big as whats flown round here.

  • @coronetsrt Lol Yeah I thought it was "It's not as big as this moment here!!"

  • when i first heard this years ago i thought he sang: thats not as big as the snowman hill

  • @farerse lol

  • i use to play it so loud in my room when i was a teen.

    what a rock memory.

    miss it though.

  • wow souvenirs!

  • The fact that Dave recorded this all on his own, is one of the many reasons why he is my hero, great song!

  • @ContraryFlunky17 Dave didnt record this on his own. He recorded all the early foo fighters demo's on his own but not the album versions. The original demos (which dave recorded alone) are now on youtube if you search though :]

  • @nick0is0ace Nope he says in the foo fighters documentary, back and forth, that the tape he recorded on his own is the album itself :-)

  • one of my fave songs ever when im baked.

Not really a massive foo fighters fan though (oh no he didnt!)

  • Same here

  • @MrBradGraham ME TOO!! except im a huge foo fighters fan haha

  • i love this song & any version of the foo's

btw what is this song about?

  • Apparently it's about a dream Dave had involving u.f.o's

  • @0foofighter0

That's interesting considering the band name means UFOs and the album art is a laser gun.

  • @ANARCHYxProductions

I think he was just stoned and was floating :) And for the we.. Maybe Kurt was with him that time :P

  • @cokolinomafia Dave stopped taking drugs before he joined Nirvana so it depends when this was written aha :)

  • i fucking love this song

  • Huh?

    "Old" Foo's?

    "New" Foo's?

Who cares?? The Foo Fighters are awesome either way. End of the conversation.

  • Saw this live in their acoustic show, amazing :)

  • this song is 4:20 minutes long

    LOL

  • 12 1/2 BITCH

  • yeah so? XD

  • Hey, i love the Foos but i gotta agree with hhhseanhbk coz i dont get whats so bad about the new Foos. i mean i dont know about you but i wouldnt call songs like Pretender, Best of you, DOA or All my life soft. But thats just me. lol

  • My favorite song from the album. Great riff and melody. They used to rock now they are more soft. -_-

  • I don't understand why people don't like the "new" foo fighters? I think they're as great as they were back when.

  • Until Dave Grohl leaves they are still the same old Foo Fighters and when he's gone so is the name. I prefer the early work though.

  • pretty song!!

  • Sweet, View #25001.

  • Foo Fighters ,on my opinion, are the coolest sounding band. they have a signature sound thats awsome :D

  • "We'll float around

    And hang out on clouds

    Then we'll fall down"---We float

    Float away

    On the ground

    We come back down

  • @Telepothead Sounds like the lyrics to "Dumb" by Nirvana.

    "We'll float around,

    hang out on clouds,

then we'll come down, have a hangover"

  • my favorite song by the foo's, i miss these days, can't stand their new stuff, wish they wouldn't have evolved into what they did.

  • Comment removed

  • thee best foo fighters album by far

  • @tonywonderful Still like Echo, Silence, Patience and Grace! My fav. Let it Die, FTW.

  • yes, you are right. The best album by far.

  • My favorite part is that Dave Grohl recorded ever instrument on this album for every track. *also for color and shape*

  • really? why? where was the band when he was doing this. i know he's a multi-instrumentalist but he doesn't have to demonstrate that fact at every turn. both albums shouldn't be foo fighters albums, then, they should be dave grohl solo projects and then at the live gigs some `coulda been Foos' are backin him up to play his solo material.

  • The reason its a foo fighters album is because dave was looking for anouther hidden name (like his last one Late! for his cassette pocket watch). So he called it Foo Fighters, he created the band so he could promote it, and on colour and shape he only did drums for a few songs because he didn't like the drums he had before.

  • Lovely song, brings back happy memories of carefree days... I wish life could still be like that.

  • thats not as big as whats floating round here

  • "thats not as big as whats FLOWN around here"

  • love his voice.

  • looking for friends

seen it yesterday! lets chat HS

  • I was so used to the recent foo fighters stuff, but i just recently heard this album And thought whoa!!!!!

  • hey i wonder where i got my name from?

  • The drum fills are amazing in this track. Definately one of the best off the 1st.

  • hay algo mejor en el mundo? no!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • graet song, love all of their songs

  • this song is awesome

  • Alright this one could make me cry

  • @zatoichi2080 Yeah. I could see that. What about it would make u cry?

  • fucking awesome song.

  • fucking awesome album

  • Yes, newer stuff does not capture this albums greatness at all.

  • @fordgt90 I dunno, The Colour and the Shape is tied for me.

  • @fordgt90 screw off,im not saying the old stuff sucks, i hate people that are STUCK in the old stuff of bands. stop whining and start enjoying more

people were probably saying this wasn't as good a nirvana back in the day anyway, but they were wrong!

  • @fordgt90 i like all their albums

    just sayin

  • I love this song.

  • Grunge is alive

  • It is, it is, no matter what anybody says it can always come back, because it's not dead, if its been recorded, it cant be dead.

  • This is such a great song. The older FF songs are new to me. Guess I'm getting to know their music from the latest releases to the older ones. Bought their first CD last week and am really impressed with it.

  • i remember listening to this on cassete...

    beautiful

  • it´s an incredible album

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. Dave = genius

  • flange effect on this is sick...just right mix

  • why do you cut off songs by 5-10 seconds?

  • Sorry, i didn't mean to do it intentionally. Its just the way my video making program made the video file. And im not making the 30 or so videos again just for a couple of seconds.

  • Hey great job posting the entire album. Cool, since I lost my original cd and felt like listening to some of the songs. This is a very cool song. Love the guitar riff and the drums speeding up in the middle of the verse.

*Check Loose Ground for some new Rock/Grunge*

  • hey guys!

  • I always catch you on good music. Lol. Rock on my friend.

  • actually yeah-Dave plays drums. He also does most of the drums on TCATS record, they weren't a full recording band until TNLT. They kept switching members inbetween tours/records. And even now (with the exception of the newest Foos record) Dave does a lot of the drum work on the Foos records with Taylor.

  • yeah i mean it would be different if you were bashing it. like i dont really like it either. this one, big me, and for all the cows are kind of eh to me. exhausted, ill stick around, weenie beenie, and wattershed are my favorite from this album

  • SORRY DAVE DOES PLAY DRUMS.

  • uh! love this album! Every song is just art

  • Dave does play drums on this album. He does every thing except the other guitar on X-Static.

  • @whelmsmith William Goldsmith didn't do drums on ANY Foos albums actually, because during The Colour and the Shape, Dave didn't like his sound so Dave, Pat, and Nate went to a studio without William and re-recorded everything with Dave on drums. So Dave did drums on the first 2 albums and it has been Taylor Hawkins ever since.

  • @whelmsmith W. Goldsmith can't hit like this. Nobody can. Only guy that can is dead (J. Bonham).

  • Ahhhh back in the day when Dave played all the instruments himself. They should re-vive some of these old gems for their live sets.

  • Legend of a song...Legend of an album..Legend of a man who recorded the whole album on his own...

  • a better comment lol joking beavis i think there 1st album is the 1 i like the best yeah!!!

  • Floaty should be a movie!

    :)

  • Great song! To bad all the live vids have been removed! Especially the unplugged version was cewl...

  • why have they been removed? I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I'm the 1000 view. Yah me!

  • Man I forgot how damn cool their debut album was.

  • I always have liked how Grohl can combine

melody with heaviness. This is my favorite Grohl

album (since he made it by himself.)

  • this is my fav song off the album. 5 stars.

  • great song and im 1st comment. wht mor cud ya ask for!?
