Love this! Has she ever performed the french part of this song live? can't find it anywhere. She is definately the Queen of the late 70's and early 80's music.
what? the bag pipes are amazing! good to see two different styles collaborate and they actually pull it off! kudos to Blondie! and Clem Burke is one of my favorite drummers ever!
I saw this tour, at The Hammersmith Odeon. It was my first gig, I was 9. I will never forget it all my life and am soooo proud to say I was there. Jimmy Destri was my first crush! Debbie Harry was and is a LEGEND and I can't wait to see her again this year at Camp Bestival!
At this awesome Dec. 1979 concert, Debbie threw her sweat soaked scarf out into the crowd while singing "Pretty Baby".... My friend caught it and smelled all gross like sweaty Debbie and perfume....we took it right home and had his Mum wash it!!! 100 Thumbs up for sanitary living!
At 2:10 Debbie has her scarf... at 2:11 it is GONE!......I didn't know Ms. Harry was a magician too!!!
I guess if the music scene doesn't work out, she has her other talent. Childrens birthday parties. "Hire Debbie... the HOT magician!" "Fun for kids and adults......
I'm only 16 so when I saw Blondie live she was old. amazing to think she used to look that hot. Anyone from the 70's you need to realise how lucky you are, all this great music whereas I've been brought up with Gaga shit and that awful Maria song. I know loads of people like that one, I don't get why. Nothing is Real was much better
It's amazing that at their height they could have played stadiums but always refused and opted for the smaller theater venues. They were always thinking of their fans over the money they could have made. That's integrity and class!
wow - i remember listening to this gig on radio one i was a kid when it happened ... never thought i'd get to see the footage - BIG thanks posting - go blondie! no one has come close to debbie harry's coolness since this era. i saw her and the the band in bristol a couple of years a go. one of my MOST favorite gigs of all time. love it!
@nick1137 Sadly thats because a select few like Keith Moon and John Bonham got into groups that were considerered "the best" and so they get all the credit for being amazing drummers. Not saying Zep and Who are bad but you know they sadly take all the credit for amazing drums when people like Clem Burke, Mel Taylor, Tommy Rammone, and others get nothing for their talents
@nick1137 Clem Burke , kills it, i have been practicing "dreaming for a month, he is just killing it, and the visual's with the stick release, Clem Burke, is one of the best drummer's i have ever seen !
I used to have an audio recording of this concert and it certainly went all the way to the end of this song (which was the last song of the broadcast) - I remember Debbie acknowledging the pipe band by name. I think the reason they cut the end of this song off for the DVD is that the video recording had all the credits on it and they couldn't edit them out.
I read somewhere that she found out that her ethnic background was Scottish. I don't think she ever met her biological parents but she found out just enough to figure out her background. If she is Scottish I have to say she is one GORGEOUS piece of Scottish specimen!
for me Blondie was so much more than Chris or Debbie. Clem was an early influence on my drumming and Frankie Infante is essentially the equivalent of Ace Frehley of KISS in that his own unique sound and style are so integral to who Blondie is, they are not the same band without him. without Clem and Frankie, it's not the same. so thx to whomever for posting these older vidz of the Real Blondie, not just some band named after Blondie with a couple members.
Saw them in 1979 in the States.....she was great, so gorgeous! Loved this album. I wonder how much of the times she performed high.
My dad came to pick us up after the concert and looked inside her limo........stocked bar and he saw her reach for the hooch.... No, I didn't witness this, but the concert was great!
idiot! she´s always beautyful she can do what she want, she wear what she want she is jus perfect as she wants!!! poor bastards no comments about my baby.
It's cut off because the original broadcast was part of "Old Grey Whistle Test" and they rolled the credits at that point. The DVD producers didn't realise we'd like to see the whole performance dispite the captions!
I have the full video and have to admit it was a good gig but with some lack of energy that usually Blondie can push in live set. Debbie also sounded entaggling and really tired because they had scheduled to come back home for end of year. More tecnical problems and the fact that was an added date at the end of their UK tour, that wasn't their best performance ever, although it's great to have that from 1979 on video.
Okay,okay... probably that expression doesn't exist...not yet. ^J^... I just meant Debbie sounded kinda embarassed and made mess here and there, especially at the start of a couple of songs. But that Sunday Girl is okay.
In Making Tracks Debbie talks about this gig. Some of the songs were put in at the request of the BBC and the band hadn't even rehearsed them for the tour!
What DVD is this concert available on? I remember watching a televised concert in the late 70's, could be the same one, and I'd love to own it on DVD. I've got the farewell concert but it's not a patch on this era!
You know, alot of times a performer feels the need to hop and sashay around like some discodancer on coke. I thought Debbie's casual coolness on stage was perfect for the music. Oh, that, and he's the all time mega hottie.
This was from a TV broadcast and they rolled the credits due to scheduling. I would have thought they'd have kept the cameras rolling and given the full perfomrance on the DVD. Blondie also opened the concert with X Offender prior to it going live on TV which has Dreaming as the opener. i have this dvd too,and i got soooo angry when i saw the cruel way they cut this wonderful version of this song.i also love when the camera turns to the scottish audience during the concert, young kids jumping up and down!

i love most of their albums but i dont think they ae that good as a live band. the Live 1978/ 1980 cd is worth lissen to but its nothing special.
