Wow, ralphe is great! I am hoping to do 3day eventing with my 14.2 arabian mare Rana. Can I get some pointers from you? I am literally starting her undersaddle and right now I can walk and trot along with going over poles on the ground. Not sure when to ask for the canter yet, but we have halt down really well lol.
That's great & Sure! Well, once you have all of her basics down (walk, trot, canter, jumping the hight you feel comfortable at with her, and brakes) you should start with dressage because Arabs tend to be really stubborn (wooh, you have no idea). My arab needs a lot of outside rein..but all horses are diff.. Once you've got the basics down just figure her out. Good luck to the both of you!! :D
wen you jump dont just stand up in your stirrups... try to lean over a bit more and keep your chest high you will have a much better position then. and wen you just stand up in your stirrups your leg slides back.and try to give him a bit more release wen you jump so you dont jab him in the mouth on landing ;) and wat level do you event? i go novice.

2. I dont lean; I let my horse come up to me:)
3. Funny, people (national examiners to be exact) always tell me my leg is forward:S
4. Well, not sure what to say about releasing. It's been 8 months.
5. I event at beginner novice. I had to train my horse, sorry, he's not perfect yet.
thanks!! Aww, thats cool! they're pretty common i guess! lol. Yea, he is only half arab, but more like 3/4 cuz his other breed is welsh, which has ALOT of arabian decent in it. I only compete at Beginner novice right now, still working on dressage haha, we can get the jumping, its just dressage...and the pics in this vid are all from the same event and that was the SMALLEST BN course i have ever ridden!!! but it was fun :)

Your horse are really good so far i had seen in Xc ! What level are you? Good job and lets proof them all wrong " I think arabs are horses made for eventing" As long as you know how to ride em, love them,teach them! We got speed, stamina, good feet, and huge hearts!!!!
