  • HA HA HA...THE COMMENTATOR SAID NO GUARDED JORDAN BETTER THAN SORRY ASS ROLE PLAYER DWARF JOHN STARKS...JOHN STARKS?....THAT'S SOME FUCKING WEAK ASS COMPETITION....HA HA HA!!

  • PHYSICAL COMBAT?.....HA HA HA....6'3 DWARF JOHN"EX-CBA"STARKS USING PHYSICAL COMBAT OVER 6'6 205LB MICHAEL"THE CUPCAKE KING" JORDAN...STARKS LITTLE DWARF ASS DID ROUGH UP JORDAN...JUST IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO JORDAN'S OVERRATED ASS IF LEBRON JAMES DECIDED TO ROUGH HIM UP...OH THAT'S RIGHT...JORDAN DIDN'T FACE PLAYERS AS GREAT AS LEBRON LIKE KOBE BRYANT...HA HA HA

  • and he didnt have a serious injury at all in his career? wtf lol ...

Thanks for posting this video, i was looking for proof on jordan playing against real defence.. lol

  • prime MJ would average 60ppg in today

  • @TheBdavis231 Probably. He'd abuse today's kids in the post like a mini-Shaq, and on the perimeter would be both the quickest slasher and the most consistent jump-shooter. I don't see anyone coming close to containing him. Teams had huge problems doing that even in the 80s and 90s, when they played physical like real men.

  • @TheBdavis231...PRIME JORDAN COULDN'T EVEN SCORE 60 ON SORRY ASS DWARF 6'3 JOHN STARKS....WHAT THE FUCK WOULD MAKE YOU THINK HE COULD SCORE ON BEASTS LIKE LEBRON JAMES, WADE, KOBE, PIERCE, DURANT...YOU MUST NOT REMEMBER...ROOKIE ALLEN IVERSON KILLED JORDAN...TEENAGE KOBE BRYANT CAME OFF THE BENCH AND STUCK 33 POINTS ON JORDAN'S OVERRATED ASS IN ONLY 29 MINUTES...JORDAN MATCHED UP WITH MORE BUMS THAN A HOMELESS SHELTER....CRAIG EHLO? JOHN STARKS? RANDY WITTMAN....THIS COMPETITION IS LAUGHABLE!!

  • "He'd [Rose] say, 'How did Michael handle double teams?' and I'd tell him, 'I don't know, because he was triple-teamed," [Randy] Brown said.

  • scrape time

  • all kobe dick rida's need to see this vid

  • Very good analysis on this type of defense. I wanna see how handchecking affected him though.

  • @nreid310 It affected his drive to the basket, in which he had to cross over his defender to penetrate through the handchecking. Otherwise, he'd have a very good path to the basket despite how close the defender is fronting him

  • @psychomajoreflex I see, thanks. I

  • He's The GOAT baby

  • Shooting over an outstretched Ewing is very difficult especially for a guard. Can you imagine today's soft prima donna's going against the Knicks defense. They entire Knicks team would be arrested for assault in today's soft azz fan friendly era.

  • And after, you heard that lebron or kobe are stronger than MJ. With this defense, lebron & kobe could score 10pts ?

  • @Evenmixer i believe 20 is max, i wouldn't go as low as 15 per se, but kobe of course being the weaker and the slower of the two you mentioned would barely score 20 ppg maximum under this defensive scheme

  • Stern allow leChocke to do 5 step legally lol. Lebron are now allowed to travel lmao but still got beat by bunch of oldschool player haha.

  • Comment removed

  • when he makes a shot, a type of shot that kobe in his career spends 40% of the time missing, like a sick fadeaway or a tough shot in the lane, he stares at the crowd like 'look at me im the shiznit'. for MJ its just regular business, no staring contest, no crying to referees for a foul call

  • @psychomajoreflex actually you might you want to do your research a little more.

  • @Disposable5 i did plenty or research, stop defending u boy kobe

  • @psychomajoreflex rarely you see MJ take tough shots like kobe, again i say rarely

  • @psychomajoreflex you obviously have not done research.....I have been studying the history of baskeball at my college for a little over three years now. We basically study film and compare and contrast with todays baskeball and older school b-ball. Its people like you that know very little about every aspect and inch of the game. There something called logic

  • @Disposable5 and how can you tell if I did research or not? if you want to brag about your basketball knowledge, then tell me the difference between MJ's game and kobe's game, based on what you see in the video here. i dont know if you are trying to defend kobe or you know MJ is the better player

  • @psychomajoreflex Well to really compare the 2 players, it would take a little while, but at the same time they are very similar because thats where kobe learned alot of his moves from. But yes of course MJ is the better overall player, not by far at all though.

  • @Disposable5 give some things MJ has an advantage over kobe, i.e quickness, strength, steps, hangtime, etc.

  • @psychomajoreflex Yea exactly....MJ was gifted with big hands and a strong body, which enabled him to do amazing things with the baskeball. Kobe also has a gifted body as well, but a little smaller then Mj's body. And that to me is what seperates the 2 players.

  • @Disposable5 also MJ had a vertical leap and longer hangtime than kobe, was also quick, had the first step, and lateral quickness

  • @psychomajoreflex oh like at :33 ?

  • Michael Jordan travel at 5:21. NO hate here haha

  • @nbakings7 lmaoo i saw that too

  • @nbakings7 his quickness made that not a travel

  • this was when basketball was exciting to watch...not just cos of jordan, but because of how the league used to play as a whole. it was so much more intense and physical in these days than today. wish the nba would change its rules back to the jordan era. i would love to see how the players of today handle defenses like that of the 90's knicks.

  • You guys are idiots if you don't think Kobe, Lebron or Wade could handle this defense. They all weigh more than Jordan and are stronger. MJ's primary defender on the Knicks was 6 '3 180 pounds... Btw vs the 93 Knicks Jordan shot 40% from the field and Scottie Pippen shot 50%.

  • @KobeConfidence it is never about the physical attributes that matters, it is just part of it! the most important thing in any sport is the heart, the will to win and the capability to raise your own standards in order to overcome all the odds presented upon u and win... that's why MJ will always be the greatest coz he played in a hardcore era of basketball... something that lbj, kobe and wade will never have in this sissy league that they have played all there career's! NO COMPARISON AT ALL...

  • @wornoutshoes11 yea yea keep telling yourself he played in a tougher era considering they gave up 108ppg LOL

  • @KobeConfidence wow coming from a kobetard? LOL u really must be riding kobe's dick that hard huh! u specifically pointed out the weights and heights of a player just to justify your claim that they would survive MJ's era? LOL nice boy ... really nice! well u know what, ok ill give u that... they may survive the 80' and 90's era but never as never will they be superstars like how they are being glorified as of today kid! they just dont have what it takes to go to the next level... DWIGHT YES!

  • @wornoutshoes11 What ever dude. You Jordan fans never look at the flip side of things. True defenses from 85-93 were allowed to play Mj more physically than Kobe. Howvever Jordan and others were allowed to play more physical on both offense and defense. Kobe, Wade and LBJ are WAY stronger than these 80's and 90's guards.. they'd overpower them easily and average higher numbers.. I aint a typical Kobetard I got LOADS of info and facts.. Can't wait till its on a website to own MJ LOL.

  • @KobeConfidence all the facts are out there and nobody is trying to keep it from any of us. they will never be on the same level with MJ. u say lbj, kobe and wade are way stronger... how will u ever know that they will even survive the 80's and 90's defense? that they will even get to play the entire regular season without being injured? we will never know but 1 thing we do know... MJ DID! let there legacy and stats speak for themselves... sorry but they aint michael jordan!... not even close!

  • @KobeConfidence lbj, kobe and wade may have survive this era. well that is a huge question mark but...again it all depends on the MENTAL ASPECT of this players. like what they say... physical aspect is easy! u can train and literally kill yourself practicing your shots and moves to improve your game but if your mental aspect is weak then u could kiss the physical part goodbye coz once they break and frustrates u... its GAME OVER! lbj and kobe are pysically tough enough but mentally... NOT!

  • @wornoutshoes11 WTF you dumbass Kobe is known for his mentality in the NBA. All of the analysts stress this enough. Where the fuck do you get your poor ass footage of Kobe playing and not showing mental toughness roach?

  • @MsFuckduck kobe is playing in an era with great athleticism but weak mentality for the game. try to visualize him playing in the 80's and early 90's where teams can play dirty tactics on a player and not get thrown out or suspended and only handled a foul... thats where the mental aspect of the game sets in. how tough are u from the inside knowing that someone will literally pull your arm or give u an elbow to the face once you try to drive to the basket... there are no cry babies back then...

  • @wornoutshoes11 talking about mentality of kobe, u should see how everytime he goes to the basket for a dunk or layup is uagghh haayy, ahhhhh...lmao. do u listen to everytime he goes to the basket? he cries for ref!!!! and to think that his mentality is tougher than Jordan's is a joke!

  • @MsFuckduck and u believe espn analysts?? LOL cmon dude get real! everyone who is a true fan of the sport of basketball knows that all of those analysts are crap with there ideas... they pimped the so called superstars of today so much... it aint rocket science dude! its easy to see what's real and what's not...

  • @wornoutshoes11 You're mentally ill if you don't think Kobe has a great mentality, while not only analysts, but overall the general population thinks it.

  • @KobeConfidence Actually, Jordan is stronger than Kobe, but he isn't stronger than Wade and James. I also agree that they can easily do the same thing they do know, if not better. Anyone who responds to your comment in a denying fashion is gay.

  • @MsFuckduck Excuse me? MJ in his prime IS STONGER than Wade and Lebron. Being larger doesn't mean being stronger. You folks see a guy who's "big" and think "he's strong". Olajuwon was not large, but in his prime he would make Howard look soft. Damn, he made Robinson (strongest, most powerful, most athletic center EVER) look soft... Forget the stereotypes; in his prime, MJ was UNSTOPPABLE in his path to the post and the rim. And he didn't need to take 3 steps like the South Beach fella....

    .

  • @yowyOw69 I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I hear that guys today are ripped, which somehow automatically translates into them jumping higher and being better athletes. If you look at the list of highest verts. in NBA history, it's mostly made up of guys that played in the 80's and 90's. Also, mental strength often translates into physical strength in athletics. Gary Payton wasn't a big guy, but he could post up and occasionally defend PF's because he was mentally tough.

  • @yowyOw69 ...mike was not stronger than lebron....and hakeem was definitely not stronger than dwight howard.....you call robinson the "strongest, most powerful, most athletic center ever"?....i guess you havent seen shaq play

  • ROFL @ 2:43. MJ's swole ass lmfao

  • this just shows how much better jordan is than everyone today, there is no one today that gets 4 players defending just them..

  • 05:21 ; MJ makes about 4-6 steps

  • Comment removed

  • damn and ppl think kobes anywere as good as jordan!? naw, look at that fucking defense kobe doesnt have to deal with that

  • @rockyrack3 I'm aware of how illegal defense works. The point I was trying to make was a player would cut to the lane going 1v1 with someone but there wouldn't be a true double team. Someone would just hang around in the paint waiting to hack the superstar attempting to dominate the lane. Most teams had enforcers that would just sit around. I just didn't remember which year became more strict.

  • he still averaged 30 points per game against them

  • To say the Jordan "scored easily" is definately a different perspective than I remember. I HATED New York back then, and I remember plenty of occasions where Jordan would get swatted by Ewing. I really thought the Bulls were in trouble when they were down 0-2 one year (I believe '92?)

Yes, Jordan eventually mastered the Knick's D, but I give lots of credit to Tex Winter / PJ and the rest of the role players in the triangle. Movement and good passing is what the Bulls never got credit for.

  • "The Knicks liked using Starks on Jordan because Starks was the best at staying in front of him."

I don't know if you remember, but Riley like using Rolando Blackman against Jordan. As a savvy vet, Blackman would give Jordan all kinds of trouble with his quick feet and not falling for his fakes. If you're referring to the 1st 3-peat, I remember plenty of stats shown by NBC during that time that Jordan's shooting % dropped considerably against the Knicks. Is it really above 50%?

  • Michael Jordan is the model for pure hardwork

  • This clip is useless. Acting like the defensive style was adopted for Jordan. Get real. How to beat the Knicks = Send in Jo Jo English.

  • EWING = GORILLA BODY GORILLA FACE GORILLA NOSE ~_~

  • @JhayMNOP hey don't be mean, he just didn't finish his transformation from being a monkey, hahaha

  • Kobe=Jordan light or DIET Jordan

  • was this before illegal defense?

  • @patface NO! this was before you learned the history of basketball which was never! LOL!

  • @pleasestopjumping You're an idiot.

  • Check out the travel at 5:20. haahaha

  • Any fundamentally and defensively focused team would key in a the star offensive player not just the Knicks defending Jordan. Double and triple teamming, denying the ball is an obvious defensive tactic. If you look at the '08 Finals, Boston defended Kobe the same way. Any offensive star would get that attention. The real question is when the defensive forces that star to pass the ball what do his teammates do with it? Then you need to look at the abilities of the supporting cast. Simple fact

  • @tl1828 NOT EVEN CLOSE MY DEAR, YOU KNOW WHY?... "THE RULES HAS BEEN CHANGED"... PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

  • @tl1828 The Celtics could not stand in the paint for an extended period of time, whereas the Knicks could load up and wait in the paint for Michael to attack. Also, the level of physicality that the Knicks utilized was nowhere near what the Celtics' defense did. Point being, Michael played against the more physical defense and won, whereas Kobe in 2008, struggled tremendously.

  • @tl1828 Please, I have been watching basketball since the 80's. Only one player made a whole team create a defense to stop him, ONLY ONE; and it was Jordan. Did you ever hear about the Jordan Rules? I've never heard about the Bryant Rules, nor the James Rules. Remember, there was NO 3 seconds violation in the paint!!! Let me just invite you to look at Kobe's stats in the 90's. Since the lockout, the whole league level went down. It's like everybody knew the beast was gone, so they chilled out...

  • Comment removed

  • Jordan Rules was to play Jordan tough and physical. Jordan was not the ONLY ONE EVER physically defended. My comment was't negating Jordan's drawing multiple defenders, it was saying a defense is SUPPOSED to send multiple defenders at the opposing team's best player. Boston defended Kobe similarly by rotating multiple defenders at him. The defensive 3 sec rule doesn't eliminate zone D it simply gives it a time limit. If defenders don't stay in the key and rotate that's still zone defense.

  • He scored 4/30 against the Knicks means that there were some teams that he didn't score 50 against. That's a terrible stat to verify a point.

  • this is how the knicks should play defense

  • Who won??????? Thats right the Bulls??? what are you analyzing nothing 15 stops in 178 playoff games.... please he scored at will! and slashed to the hoop til he was 40+......

  • Imagine what he could do against the current Knicks defense

  • plz, admit it, if kobe is feeling it people actually give up defensevly, but if MJ was feeling it, hard foul to get him out of rythym

  • MJ's best playoff series:

    MJ vs. Boston, 1986 Playoffs - 43.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 5.7apg, 2.3spg, 1.3 bpg, 51%

    MJ vs. Cavs, 1988 Playoffs - 45.2ppg, 5.4, rpg, 4.8apg, 2+ spg, 1+ bpg, 56%

    MJ vs. Cavs, 1989 Playoffs - 40.0ppg, 5.8rpg, 8.2apg, 2+ spg, 1+bpg, 53%

    MJ vs. Philly, 1990 Playoffs - 43.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 7.4apg, 3 spg, 1+ bpg, 55+%

    MJ vs. Miami, 1992 Playoffs - 45.0ppg, 9.7rpg, 6.7apg, 3spg,1 bpg, 61%

    MJ vs. Phoenix, 1993 NBA Finals - 41.0ppg, 8.5,rpg, 6.3apg, 2spg, 1bpg, 51%

  • @hoopfan71 Don't forget this one:

    MJ vs. Lakers, 1991 Finals - 31.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 11.4 apg, 2.8 spg, 1.4 bpg, 56% FG

  • @hoopfan71 Man Thats Crazy Numbers.

  • @90000ization Yeah, I was blown away by those numbers, because they show how dominant he was on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor and the amount of effort he brought every night.

  • What would he do against the 2011 knicks defense???

for fucks sake I don't think I could watch

  • 5:11 - 5:20 sounds like Charlie Murphy

  • All I know is,,,Patrick Ewing was Jordan's dunk puppet

  • after this series MJ began using the step back jumper more because if the defender made to much contact while he was drving he would step back and get a open look every time

this caused players to sag of him while drivng and not put contact adn gave him chance to get more dunks/layups

  • mostly all of these fouls would be flagrant fouls today

  • To top it all off, Jordan had one of the highest ever if not the highest ever career points per game average at msg.

  • Lmaoo Kobe cries so much about the tiny fouls that happens in today's era, if kobe played against the 1992 Knicks he would be in critical condition. Kobe will never in his life face a defense like this and he will never perform the way MJ did against this defense. Anyone who thinks Kobe is in MJs league then you are clearly a dumbass.

  • hahah look at Jordan's travel at 5:20 everybody acts like he didn't traveled.

  • quick question for everybody arguing did you even watch this video there is no way in hell a team can play this physical in this current era

  • stop comparing the 2. kobe is his own man...you dont compare john stockton to gary payton, they play the game differently

  • The biggest reason why the Knicks (ironically my favorite team) could never beat the Bulls with Jordan, was because by the time the Knicks starting playing Chicago regularly in the playoffs, their defense was based on Detroit's "Jordan Rules" and Chicago overcame this defensive strategy when they swept the Pistons in '91. I think in any other era, these Knicks could have won a championship. But Chicago with Jordan, the support cast, and Jackson as coach, they simply would not be denied.

  • so does this mean phil jackson coaching sucks?

  • OMG!!!!!!! Pause at 2:57 LOOK AT HIS LEG!!!!!

  • vasilis spanoulis is better and has more potential. if it werent for van gandy, he'd probably rule the NBA for all time to come

go check basketball-reference for his stats

  • damn, they are just straight flanking him.

I knew Jordan was amazing but these defenses he's facing are another

testament to his ability. I doubt the stars of today would be able to flourish like they do now facing this..

  • lol mikael jordans looks like a point guard in this video. draw the entire team then pass to the teammates.

no wonders he has a good assist average lol

  • Phil Jackson looks nerdy as shit at the beginning of this vid.

  • @HomelessRobles

Phil Jackson looks like he is promoting the brand new Commodore 64

  • i admit the 80's and 90's defense was the tough defensive era ...

  • That is why Riley retired Jordan's #23 in Miami because he has nightmares of Jordan beating his Knicks and Miami Heat teams, Riley coached Magic and Kareem and Riley admits Jordan is the Greatest.

  • 5:21.... traveling?

  • @and19641964 its jordan he can do that

  • this is a great video.

  • Kobe can never be as good as michael because he is not as tough as michael.

these are some hard fouls kobe couldnt take that.

  • @13NLewis kobe can never be as good as jordan cuz jordan was the 1st to do all the greatest things.

  • @13NLewis Kobes playing with a broken ring finger injured knee and back but still jordan is better but kobe is tough

  • @AP23ATWAL Nobody told Kobe to break his finger. Jordan is better. Kobe admitted it. Here's the one thing you need to know about Kobe and Jordan....KOBE LEARNED EVERYTHING HE KNOWS FROM JORDAN. KOBE STUDIED JORDAN. KOBE WAS JORDAN'S STUDENT. JORDAN WAS THE TEACHER. AND EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS. IF YOU'RE STILL NOT SATISFIED, LOOK AT JORDAN'S NUMBERS DURING THE FINALS, THEN COMPARE IT WITH KOBE. SORRY TO DISAPPOINT YOU, BUT IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE. Kobe should give Jordan every one of his rings. E.O.S...

  • @heromiles

you're pretty fuckin ignorant. WHY DONT YOU JUST GO AHEAD AND GIVE ALL YOUR MONEY TO YOUR PROFESSOR FOR GIVING YOU KNOWLEDGE THAT ALLOWED YOU TO MAKE MONEY. Is that what your trying to say about kobe?

pay the man his respect, you should be happy a guy like Kobe worked his life off to be as great as MIchael Jordan. Instead of bagging on him for "studying the GOAT" give him the respect he deserves.

  • @heromiles

You're just mad because people compare Mj With Kobe because they pretty much are the same player. Instead of being mad you should be glad that the GREATEST PLAYER AS OF NOW IS BEING COMPARED TO MJ. MJ will never be topped but SO NEITHER WOULD KOBE. MJ AND KOBE BOTH GO DOWN AS THE TOP 2 SG EVER.

btw MJ never dropped 81 pts. He needed OT and he still only dropped 63.

  • @deerodchan The difference is, MJ needed to score his points to help his team. Kobe is just a complete ball hog. He scored his points in a meaningless regular season game against a meaningless team. I bet you can't guess who that sorry team was. And this is why Kobe will never be MJ. Did you see Kobe's sorry finals performance against the Celtics? Let's see Kobe top Jordan's 63 against the the Celtics in the playoffs. Then you'll be saying something. Until then....Just STFU

  • @deerodchan

Jordan scored 69 as his all time career high. he had that " 63" against BEST NBA team at time with BEST DEFENSE, Boston Celtics. ever heard of team? they easlily should have won last yr NBA finals.

As for 81 points..who was that against? Lowly NCAA college team known as Hawks, who defense is on same par with a D3 college team. Second Jordan made majority of his scoring records in PLAYOFFS and FINALs, not regular season games

  • @AP23ATWAL Mj sat on a wheel chair and missed 64 games with a broken foot, but he insisted to play with more minutes even when the doctor says his foot hasn't recovered yet........guess what? he scored 63 in the playoffs against one of the greatest teams ever assembled

  • @13NLewis kobe is not better, but he's a hell of a warrior, 2 messed up fingers, 2 drained ass knees, and a sprained elbow, still averaging 25,5 and 5

  • @CPBlazier

Jordan avg 20 as 40 year

  • @13NLewis

Yet kobe plays with a hurt hand/arthritis/swollen hands (look on google images kobes hand looks like a balloon after games)/sprained ankle/ Jordan is better then Kobe I'll give you that. But kobe is just as tough as Jordan if not tougher on his 14th year pro and hardly ever has missed games in his career.

  • @13NLewis Kobe is great but he could never be better than Jordan not only because of the hard fouls but because for another reason.THERE ARE NO KOBE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

  • @13NLewis Kobe thinks Jordan is better Kobe doesnt want to be compared to Michael he wants to be himself Kobe is one great player he doesnt like takin fouls cuz he doesnt like gettin injured. period

  • @13NLewis Idk about all the hate but he can take those hard fouls maybe Lebron James can't but Kobe can ya'll need to stop hating the man

  • john starks was scared as fuck

  • Wow, these knicks will be on the bench in today's game. Slow as hell. MJ ownz.

  • wow...great video..

  • theres are 12 kobe lovers here

  • By the time the Knicks used the Jordan rules it was too late. The Bulls were just too talented and with the triangle offense it was harder to do and with Jordan's skill he knee what to expect and still found a way to beat it. Now if this was in 1990 then yeah it would have worked since the rest of his teammates weren't as skilled yet.

  • damn, Thats like jordan is playing american-streetball-mode in these games... everyone against the ball handler... he must have been exhausted as hell after these games

  • This video is great...and helps clearly layout WHY Jordan is the greatest for all those "kids" who dont understand about real basketball...its unbelievable Jordan was STILL able to overcome this ferocious defense...he truly is the greatest...and its not close ladies and gentlemen..

  • If Lebron, Kobe, Melo, Wade, or even Durant played against a defense like this, they would BARELY would put up the numbers they do. In this modern age, hard fouls and legit tough defense is hard to come by. Jordan put up big numbers even w/ these times. Players today stay away from contact and would think twice if they got fouled hard. Jordan actually looks for contact and was not afraid of it. If there was a team that played like this, it'll cause nightmares for opposing star scorers.

  • Comment removed

  • damn i would be mad if i had to play in that era haha

  • Who cares who's the best?? Who's the best right now?

  • at 5:22 its hilarious how he was just steppin with the ball

  • @imlostondanet yes sir that is Phil Jackson he is responsible for the Bulls 3peat as well as the Lakers.Arguably the greatest coach the NBA has ever seen he has 11 championships, two 3peats.

  • @moybutter First i wanna say your analysis was brilliant, but theres one flaw, Kobe grew up playing street ball in philly,so the physical aspect of the game is familiar territory. That being said if a person pays close attention to Lakers games you'll see that Kobe is fouled at least one time each possession, but the ref can't call every foul so he compensates by calling the hard and important ones.

  • Gotta remember, player's careers in the 80s and early 90s were cut shorter b/c of the rough play. Lucky to have played 10+ yrs. Today's league, rules changed to protect the players(which is a good thing). Kobe wouldn't be as productive or even playing that long if he were playing against this kind of D. Kobe gets contained when he plays against this kind of rough D ala Boston Cs(90s Knicks Lite). 6/24 in a gm7 elimination gm is unacceptable if he's supposed to be the GOAT.

  • @MisterHUmster MJ's 5/19 in game 6 elimination game against Sonics in the finals is inexcusable too I guess. Guess he's not really the GOAT then eh?

  • @ctye85 Yes, it was one of his worst if not worst playoff gm in his career. However, it wasn't an elimination gm7, cuz they would have gone back to Chi. I could go to the 2004 finals against Pistons where Kobe got locked up by Tashawn Prince where he avg. 22 ppg and 36% shooting, 2001 finals 25ppg 41% against 6'3 Eric Snow, or 36% 15 ppg against Reggie's Pacers, but I won't. Shaq carried Kobe to his first 3. Get over it, this argument is over.

  • @ctye85 he had Gary Payton- the best PG defender in the last 40 years-+ double team. And as mentioned, it wasn't elimination game. And even so, Kobe has always shot worse than Jordan in the Finals. Kobe Bryant also had double team, but the main defender was Ray Allen. Ray Allen did a decent job (from my eyes), but he is no defensive player of the year.

  • @ctye85 Kobes average in career playoff elimination games: 22ppg on 38FG%

  • At 7:11...can you please explain me what Jordan is mad about? I want to know what those crazy looking eyes meant! Thank you.

  • You know why your videos are great? Because you give a chance to the people who weren't there to see Jordan back then, you give them a taste of what Jordan went through in order to accomplish the legacy everyone knows about. For many, Jordan is just the highlights...nothing more. But your videos give a glimpse at the constant struggle Jordan and his team had to put up to bulid what would later become a legacy.

  • Ya'll people need to let go.

If kobe said he stole moves from all the great players then how hard it it for TEAMS to steal D from the past?

    Not hard at all.

Let go of the retro and be thankful you've got a competitor trying to put on a great show for us. Instead of getting on kobes nuts all the time why dont u just appreciate his hard work and skill.

Ya'll Mj's fan gotta admit Kobe is one hell of a player with a prettier jump shots hands down.

  • @deerodchan huh? did you even watch the video? the kind of D back then is illegal now. that's why people can't "steal" D from the past, duh.

  • @deerodchan " how hard it it for TEAMS to steal D from the past? Not hard at all. "......it's hard because the rules says NO!

  • is that phil jackson!?!?!?!??! hahahahaha

  • look at 2:38, jordan is making half of his jump shots!! any other player and the knicks win, unfortunately for them, mj was had a deadly mid-range game.

  • that's why Kobe can't be Jordan

  • @dapunisher1000 its true because kobe is kobe and jordan is jordan

  • @Naruto1ownsSasuke exactly why does this comparison comes up as if kobe said he was better than jordan

  • Im tired about hearing jordan. Mj this mj that why u people keep on living in the past???? The truth is jordan is done 10 - 12 yrs from now and kobe is still playing... Thats all i can say. And that is the difference that kobe is playing and mj is not... Quit living in the past like jordan is still playing. Morons.

  • @chakadoll9 Go comment somewhere else

  • @chakadoll9 And besides your grammar says that jordan will be done playing 10 to 12 years from now when in fact he retired 8 years ago. Plus what you said means kobe(pussy) wont be done playing until he is like 42 years old or something. Please fix your grammage.

  • @haha44467 Lol? Im just saying the truth jordan is retired and kobe is back to back champs trying to 3peat nxt yr. Just saying hes done and kobe is not. Can you still watch mj playing on tv??? No. Can i see kobe play next year? YUP. Mj = retired. kobe = still active ma friend. Kobw gonna pass mj. 7 champs woooot so i win

  • @chakadoll9 you dumb bro hopw are you 12

  • @chakadoll9 kobe plays for the next 10 years, with 30ppg every season, he still not gonna pass MJ, do the math

  • best ever JORDAN

  • thats how great mike is, he can attract 5 defenders. did other teams do this to kobe?

  • MICHAEL JORDAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow.........the bulls seriously suck without MJ

  • All I got to say is that I have never seen a person drive, and all 5 opposing players collapse the key. Truly shows that MJ had to be someone amazing if the defense had to put all their players just to contest.

  • LOL at all this Kobe talk. The defense in this video was created for ONE guy and its not Kobe. And it still couldnt stop him. Jordan's the only player in the history of the league that could go up against that and come out on the better end.

And its not like its simply a matter of putting defenders in place either. You had to have the right guys and everyone on the Knicks could defend, 90s style. There were two phases. 1) Was the positioning of the players, and 2) was the brutality.

  • @lexlucid909 - Yeah, I still remember Starks' clothesline on Pippen in the Game 6 of the 92 ECF. Starks clotheslines him, then Mason smacks him in the face and then X gently knees him to the side of his head. All in one play.

  • this is pretty great defense theyre playing, but theyre hogging the lane basically.. outside of the driving lane, its one on one essentially, while kobe has to deal with double teams outside the three point arc and within the paint, so as long as jordan takes jumpers he should be fine, hes too fast, hes too strong, the outside defender by himself cant do much

  • @azngothopz - Did you even watch the video? Jordan dealt with doubles and triples from all over the court - including outside the three point line!!

  • @airbalty alrite show me clips where hes taking a 3 point fadeaway with 2 or more defenders on him...

  • @azngothopz - Sorry, but if Kobe's taking fadeaway threes with 2 or more defenders on him, that's just bad offense.

Ask any player or coach - either he breaks down the defense by penetrating or he passes to an open team mate. He may make a couple here and there but taking a contested three is bad judgement.

  • @airbalty lol your deterring away from the argument. Don't try to change the subject to make up for lack of evidence to prove your claim.

If you wanna argue this point u should have done so, not "did u even watch the vid..."

  • @azngothopz - Exactly what is your argument? That jacking up fadeaway 3s with 2 defenders in your face is good basketball?

My point is MJ faced all sorts of defense, inside and outside, yet consistently made the right decisions. When he got doubled/tripled in the key, mid-range and around the perimeter he probed the defense, and either passed to an open team mate or went to the rim to get heavily fouled. It's called high percentage basketball.

Not changing the subject, the proof is in the clip
