  • Plastic cover on top the engine? You do know you could remove it right?

  • Gt mmmm ya modded stang. I raced a lightly modded gt with my de z lightly modded and spanked him not once but twice lol

  • im really starting to hate all the new cars with plastic covers on the blocks. Id rather show my steel or aluminum rather thn plastic...

  • After 90 mph hr and de z's walk mustangs. Good old 6 speeds :)

  • Yea you just have great conditions. I've raced more 2005-2010 GTs at the drag strip than I can count. The latest one is a guy I became friends with because I see him there so much. GT/CS with manual trans, intake, intake manifold, pulleys, tuner, headers, full o/r exhaust, gears, and now cams. He was trapping 107 mph last time out with the new cams. Your track is very fast. I ran an HR G35 recently and while it was quick, I definitely had the edge at a time when I was trapping 104 mph.

  • @gtdrummerdude Bro the HR infiniti g35 type S weighs 300 pounds more than my car. I literally pull an easy 2 car lengths on them. You can't judge the HR Z with an infiniti HR G35 that has AT LEAST almost 300 extra curb weight. 300 pounds is an outrageous amount of weight. Try putting 300 pounds in your car and let me know what you trap at the track! You would lose at least 2-3 mph in the trap AT LEAST.

  • @flodhi1 Regardless, you need to admit that the conditions where you race are more than favorable. If you came down here i'm guessing a good run for you in the winter would be 105-106. And the G35 is not much heavier than the 350Z, 300 lbs max, i'm inclined to say closer to 200. The pre-HR models were sitting at 3300-3400 lbs. I recently took 200 lbs of stuff OUT of my car to see what it would do and I gained less than 1 mph, like .8 or .9 mph.

  • @gtdrummerdude Definitely Density altitude makes an impact. I would not run 108 mph at every single track. At other tracks i tend to run 106s (>700 DA) and even hit 107 (once in like 500 DA) and the 108 mph trap was in a (200 DA) Obviously if i go to some place where the DA is like 1000 feet I would probably be trapping 106s. Regardless trust me the G35 type S is not light it's curb weight is close to 3600 pounds my own uncle has the HR g35 s. Its fast for a sedan but def not the same

  • @flodhi1 Ah well I guess that's it then. A good DA in the winter here on a cold night is 1200. Avergage winter DA is ~1800, summer is ~5000 because it's like 110 degrees out.

  • @gtdrummerdude lol i'd be lucky to get even 102 mph trap in a +5000 DA in summer that's outrageous

  • @flodhi1 Well we'll see what happens this summer. I ran 105 mph all night in like 2000 DA a week ago.

  • That must be an android phone taking this video.

  • so an intake and a rechip counts as modding nowdays? sad

  • @teckert36 Forgive me I should have put STOCK mustang GT to meet your standards right?

  • @teckert36

In the world of mustangs, that's what's needed to keep up with a Prius these days.

  • @teckert36 Yes...It always has.

  • @teckert36 yeah, it does. Did a new carb and tuning it count as modding back in the day?

  • @teckert36 pretty sure a chip counts as modding. tune the z and see the difference. the power curve is sick and revs much higher

  • good run. nice trap speeds

  • Damn that Z had a better trap speed. Nice run

  • damn just shows that nissan does better engineering better cars stock Z almost had your ass even with your mods n ecu reflash nissan all the way.

  • Nice times
