I have this exact guitar and I find it very versatile. I've done 80s glam, blues, and punk all with this thing. It plays fantastic out of the box, and when you have a pro set it up, forget about it. Infinite sustain, thick rich emg deepness, and it stays in tune through it all. The only downside to this guitar is that it's finish may become easily worn over time, but does that really matter?

Nice vid man. This guitar is high up on my list to possibly get after the new year. I need a 2nd guitar to compliment my Gibson without breaking the bank. How well balanced is it while playing standing up? Does the headstock take a nose dive when you let go or does it pretty much stay in place. I'm a little spoiled with my Les Paul that weighs in at around 11~12 pounds. That thing doesn't move at all when I let go of it. I like that this one is lighter, gives me another option.

@phantomdave79 Thnx dude. It is a very well balanced guitar that wont take a nose dive. And yes it is lighter that a Gibson Les Paul. This counts for the LTD version that I have though, if you are considering buying the ESP version its another story. Not saying it will nose dive on ya but it is a lot heavier.

I don't know if the price of ESP on the head stock justify the quality ...

@andrzejkostelic2 ltd is esp, and ltd's are made in use (check the back of the guitar on the knob cover before purchasing it it will tell you if its usa or not cause ittl have a big sticker) the plain esp models are made from different wood, and they do some kind of aging process or something to it. ltd is the "more affordable" mass produced version. with esp on the headstock you're looking at about $1200+ they're pretty pricey.

@nikoasdaf the gold just looks like gold. But there is a little different with the ESP model of this guitar, the ESP a bit more "goldish" I think because the whole guitar shines. This one has matt paint.

@hiz99 it is, but playing pinch harmonics on the low E string can be difficult sometimes. No problem with it on the higher strings.

@aphasia2 i think its more a matter of opinion. I liked this model more because its more slim than a gibson les paul, but a les paul playes pretty fine as well. The fact is that this guitar is practicaly just as good, but a lot more less expensive.

This guitar is awsome,i have her paird with a peavey vypryr tube60w on the recto ch its and justice all the way,i can go clean and the 60 in the neck comes thru with nice clear tones,the intonation is excellent,it stays in tune,allover,craftsmanship is excellent,and the paintjob is mint,its like a $1600 guitar for$800! AND it plays like a light weight easier, nicer playing LES PAUL,totally a metal guitar

And good, I am aiming for the sunburst 1. it's a helluva lot prettier. 2. it has SDs, not EMGs. EMGs are beastin' for metal and stuff, and I'd love a set, but I can get plenty of distortion without EMGs and I need clean tones ocassionally, and I want to have potential for a GOOD clean tone.

SLSMG has 81/80 EMG passives, not as great as the EC-1000 81/60.

IMO all the EC-1000's look way sexier than the SLSMG, with an exception of the snow white SLSMG. I've read the SLSMG is very light, but not the greatest for all around playing, mostly Soloing. It depends what you play, but for me EC-1000 VB all day long. Keep in mind SLSMG is also way more expensive.
