  • Best interview ever ! The real David Belle ! Real man ! Camasino Team

  • I believe most of us have lost our path, we just need a wake up call to get back on it. Parkour is a way of life for me, I will never take it for granted, and I will dedicate my life to learning and teaching the ways of this discipline.

  • Like david , i am a protector, i am not the best , but i stay true to what parkour truly is...thank you david

  • I remember often watching them with some another guys training, before they become popular and even today sometimes we can see some guys or girls havin fun despite the access of the structure behind is forbidden. They used to say me as kid, to keep out from the cuz we may attract the police lol

  • vrai

  • YOU DON"T FUCK WITH THE ORIGINAL

  • That's a brilliant interview right there, and I think they really hit the nail on the head with what Parkour or Free Running is - it's entirely individual. You can class yourself if you want but really, those who love it are those with something unique to express regardless of who your idol is or what you call it

  • Courcouronnes mother fucker !!!

  • i always thought that Seb Foucan invented the sport, thanks to the uploader.

  • David a raison à 100% parce que la plupart des gens on oubliés le vrai sens du parkour à la base.Et que le parkour ce n'est pas juste un sport, s'est plus que ça!

Je pense comme David Belle à 100%!

  • Someone critisizing Belle is always wrong, because he IS parkour =)

  • David is right , parkour isnt like a lesuire sport , it takes time and commitment and practice , thats why so many people mess up and do things wrong because they dont practice and they dont have everything thought though in there head and many people dont really even like it they just want to show off. Not that there isnt anything wrong with making videos , cause i am working on that and its great fun

  • Then what do experts recommend to do, receiving lessons or creating our own style of parkour?

  • I've been doing parkour for 5 and a half years now and I am always doing parkour and being committed to it so it pisses me off when you see people who had been doing parkour for 1 week and they attempt a huge jump and break a leg or an arm

  • what's that structure in the background?

  • Today's is Sebastian Foucan's 37th birthday according to Wikipedia.

  • All guys who do parkour , just take care of yourselves, because at the beginning you just think:,,I have to do this big jump and you surely overvalue yorself". I had 3 knee operations, but I still practice parkour, because now i know the philosophie. And finally i have to say that the operations didn`t make me more weaken or sth.I am better than before.

  • @flyingmover

well man i don't know about injuries i didn;t have any operations etc, but i think its not about who had them or at all any injuries or not, its more about own understanding of parkour, and i think my self without it anyway are better than in the time when i start do any of this stuff..., i now maybe in smaller stuff i have more fears etc, but from second side i know, better i do some jumps in time when all my body is relaxed than when i afraid do it and i just trow my body.

  • @FreerunningTVDotCom Is there a video without embed subtitles in it? Like in part 2, for example. Do you have any link or you could send me a video file maybe? Need it for a project. =)

  • I'm soon 16 and I have been knowing about Parkour since 9. It REALLY PISSES ME OFF how all these kids watch videos then go out just to jump around thinking that they know what the fuck they are doing. But then again, let them play.

  • ces trop vrai le parkour ces ma vie et cest un mode de vie une facon de penser po

une facon de faire des flips devant des camera

  • some traceurs get blinded of having being video taped because u becom a persn whos there to impress not to parkour and when people realize that then itll come back and just cause people video tape doesnt mean they no the meaning of an actual traceur it means they might want to inspire people or teach it David Belle will always be respected in a true traceurs eyes

  • where is that place, I see it a lot?

  • @igglepiggle07 it's called LISSES in district 91 about 45 kms from PARIS, right nexto my home town of CORBEIL-ESSONNES. back in the day i used to watch these guys train all day long b4 they were even known by anyone, i live in Perth australia now and been here for about 9 years..It's great to see what u can achieve with perseverance and dedication.. peace bro

  • David belle needs to have a family to pass on his heritage and values..it shouldnt stop here..There are traceurs all over the world who practice parkour..but I guess very few understand the real value of parkour..hmm..

  • David's right I'm 15 right now and I'm searching parkour looking at different speeches and messages all over the web.

I need to go my own path, and stop thinking about looks and how other people do it..

  • trust me these two fellas made this sport

  • From the God father himself.

  • these two are the best travers(free runners) in the world

  • @yoyogg1 lol you try to sound clever but its spelt traceurs

  • When is part 2 due?

  • what's with the kissing on the cheeks stuff at the beginning?

  • @Jamelzy there french, its like shaking someones hand in france.

  • @Jamelzy European gesture of friendship/mutual respect.

  • @superpheonixfire i don't think it's european, because nobody does it in holland

  • @Jamelzy French, then. But not uncommon in other European countries.

  • Where is and what's the name of the structure in the background??

  • @Cken684

Jeez you watch such a video and you are too lazy to read the description?

    Failed.

  • @m0Rt4lSin Jeez you had to feel special by making fun of someone online?

    Failed.

  • @Cken684

I didn't make fun of anyone. I just told him he should think before... like doin' Parkour... watchin' a video and so on...

  • @Cken684

It is called 'La Dame Du Lac' (Lady of the Lake). It was the first structure built specifically for Parkour, and has since become off-limits for all except Traceurs/Freerunners.

It can be found in Lisses, France.

  • I agree.

  • A list of videos David needs to watch before he loses all hope: Parkour Literally, Professor Longhair Big Chief, Brighton Parkour, Steel GUP/ - Train, Go, One, Project Pilgrimage, Boulder Tribute, Peice of Wall 2010, and many others. Parkour isn't dead, you just have to realize everybody learns a wrong first impression about parkour, and it takes a couple of years to straighten out their knowledge

  • Thank u Fr-TV for this upload!

  • Respect to David, i've been waiting over 8 years to hear him answer these questions and he answered just how i imagined he would.

  • THAT VIDEO IS WHAT IVE BEEN PRAYING FOR FOR YEARS!!! I ACTUALLY CLAPPED MY HANDS AFTER WATCHING THAT!! THE WORLD OF FREE RUNNERS AND TRACEURS NEED TO WATCH THAT!!

I started Free Running the day after Sebastien brought Jump London to our tv screens over 8 years ago, I had the exact passion they did UNTILL i tuned in to the web and lost MY WAY!! BUT like they said, U DO LOSE YOUR WAY!!, SWITCH OFF THE WEB, Feel it, Breathe it, AND JUST MOVE!!

    Stuart Speedy Andrews. speedyandrewsdoes@live.co.uk

  • he isn't the founder/creator....i hate it so much when people try to say that....parkour has been around for just about all of mankind

  • @FreerunnerDave

    I don't agree.

As a method of training with principles and values (from methode naturelle for instance) parkour haven't existed for more than about twenty years. Just going out and doing movements, e.i. tricking, is alone not parkour/freerunning. Therefore, I believe that the true founders are all of the Yamakasi guys of course including David and Sebastien.

  • one person thought the "dislike" button said "dis I like"

  • @kasaikun619 and that joke is so damn old. just watch the vid and appreciate it.

  • Great Interview To be honest. Glad to have the best founders back together. And yes I agree with David 100%. It is true that the majority who practise parkour, lost the real meaning and sense of this education. It's a thing lost due to the proudness of people and media involvement :(

Hope to see Part 2 real soon!

  • aside from the fact that everything that david is saying is true, it is great to simply see those two together.

  • Baunlieue 13 is an awesome movie, and I hope to see ultimatum as well.

  • nice to see David and Sebasiten together.........

  • i want those hoodies!

  • In comments bellow, only thing i see is "Oh, David is so right, he is so awesome, spirit, spirit, spirit, passion ,spirit"

Of course I'm not saying that David is wrong, and this interview really cleared a lot of things, but It's just sad that community only listens to stuff that people on the top of the hierarchy (whoever that is (David, Foucan, Illabaca....)) are saying, and no one actually creates his own opinion and story!

  • @jakingofw

I couldn't agree with you more. What Parkour means is subjective. It's up to the individual to express themselves in the way they see fit.

  • @jakingofw I agree.

  • For me personally, I don't see or feel any diffrent between parkour, add, freerunning. I believe the most important thing is the spirit. So for me it's the same thing. However, it seems like some people today see tricking as parkour.. parkours idea revolves around moving, yes, but just going out on the streets doing movements is not parkour/freerunning.

  • David Belle - U're my soul !

  • Ele colocou as legendas que eu tanto pedi!!! \o/ Obrigado!!

  • @UillanDR tem com legenda em portugues aqui /watch?v=QjE5i-TsCHI

  • @pkLipe valeu man!!!

  • Whens the next part of the interview!

  • i was almost cryed when I watch this interview :(

  • @serip0 Just cry my friend. It was so touching after all!

  • Truth be told. As bruce lee said "Showing off is a fools idea of glory."

  • Parkour should be a life journey not just a couple of seconds on camera showing off. It's a way of life.... it can be used like a philosophical approach to better understand yourself and find out who you truly are. Then you express who you are through movement....Not just by doing tricks and flips to be the best around in the public eye... If that's your approach then your the one who truly loses cus your wasting you time not finding who you are?

  • When I was about five I always loved jumping over stuff and off of stuff and when I did it it was the only way I could get away and when I did it I always got this feeling that I couldn't describe it was like I could feel my movements and everything else moving with me and when I was 14 I found out about parkour and it amazed me but also made me angry I do agree that parkour has lost its way we need more people to find there own way and not just see people doing tricks we need more true traceurs

  • It's ashame somehow, that many things he discusses and critisises on the comunity can directly be read as comments here.

The spirit and the Passion was what motivates all of us to start training.

I remember some peoples faces, when they did their first achievements, but after a few days, weeks, months, years, many of them seem to lose this spirit.

I think keeping this spirit is worth more than any "huge-sick-whatever"-Armjump you can ever do!

  • @AwayParkour That passion of doing your first arm jumps, finding all these new movements. Yes, that fades. But after your first months, your first year... your passion for parkour is what drives you. It's different to that first passion, sure. But there's still a flame there or you'd have stopped.

  • @pughparkour of course there is, or aat least should be. I am just saying that I cannot see this basic passion in many people anymore. They changed their true motivation to a "higher-better-bigger" hype, and this in my opinion is not the idea behind all this!

  • héhé, David et Sébastien réunis... ça me fait plutôt sourire ツ

  • I think David is seeing a lot of waste when he watches videos not so much because the art is lost but because a lot of people just plain suck! Great interview! We need more!

  • @vlasevmovement

That is the point, most people just want to be filmed. That is the issue, "oh look I'm cool, I do this Parkour thing."

Its about moving in the way that is your natural style not for some stupid video you can post on Youtube when you don't even know your own style but you have learned certain 'moves'.

  • David is a living legend :-)

  • like bill gates interviewing steve jobs... it´s a weird interview

  • @hilariofreire But Sebastien Foucan is more the Steve Jobs than Belle i think :D

  • Keep up the excellent and good video broadcasting

  • yeeah !!!!!!!!!

where is this place i and my friend want to go there!!!!!

    pls answer!!!!

    really cool video!!!

  • @2Fast2FuriousFanable In Lisses, France.

  • I bet 80% of the people in the community will not understand what David has said here. You need to experience to know the different of what is in questions.

  • @westMen

Don't think this is true. I say nearly 100% of the community DO understand what David said, but that doesn't hinder a big part to still have the same attitude about showing off, or making videos to show off.

Also like David said, it IS important that you find your own way.

  • Amen.......

  • @SpkWill1

I'm quite sure they BOTH move much better than yourself my friend. You yourself should stop sitting behind a computer talking shit and go train.

  • @SpkWill1 if these two grandads werent here parkour or free running wouldn't be here. they are speaking of how people dont really give a shit about getting it right or the flow or the expression and they just do it to look cool. people are too into flipping and showing off and there forgetting about the real principles and the realness of it. if people really want to talk shit on the founders then they should really think about calling their discipline something besides parkour/free running.

  • @DanielStacy

finaly ! thats soo true, couldn't agree more !

  • @SpkWill1

coming from you, what? do u do parkour and freerunning just to show off to the girls and get a 1 night stand? if so then thats why u will probs end up breaking your neck and make the REAL parkour and freerunning look bad, people like you are why PK/FR is disliked by many. thanks -_-

  • Only stop on parkour when ur tired man have fun with it!try perfecting ur movement as much as u can who caresa bout showing off..ur gonna try doing it BETTER to show off u might hurt ur self do it calm confident

  • MUY BUENO... espero sirva de algo para recapacitar sobre el objetivo por el cual entrenamos Parkour...

    GRACIAS ...

  • Respect for him. What he said was very true, sometimes i don't even like watching Parkour videos anymore.

  • I respect them both but I think I take Parkour a little differently. I train Parkour because it is fun, that is purely it. I like the feeling you get when you climb a big building or you succeed at a new level of trick. Maybe it's the adrenalin rush. I don't treat parkour as a philosophy at all I treat it as a leisure sport and i don't see anything wrong with that. When i look at videos of kids doing big tricks and jumps

I see a bunch of kids having fun doing what they are good at.

  • @fishingandclimbing still, you have to admit teenagers trying out big tricks without complete control is a dangerous thing.

  • @llonever Yeah i totally agree with that getting hurt is not fun

  • strong words david! much respect x

  • ive been trying to spread davids message for ages when he first told me about it.im glad he announced his message publicly

  • Parkour should mean expressing yourself in the movements that you feel right, and no one can tell you if it's the wrong way to do it.

  • @mattox666 True but I think youre thinking of freerunning

  • @ricekyd2o6 Hmm maybe, but i think parkour should mean free running and fast movement

  • @mattox666

Well, the thing is, it's not expressing yourself through movement...

That is simply moving as a form of expression, not parkour.

Parkour is not what you make it to be...

Parkour and "moving" are two separate things.

Parkour is an idea that revolves around moving. Just because you vaulting, climbing, or jumping doesn't mean you are training parkour.

  • belle speaks truth at the end.

  • i believe motion is motion.. if a person wants to flip.. let them. but they dont have the right to say its parkour.... thats all i think... other than that i stick with my parkour!

  • Belle was just trying to remind us that being efficient is also being healthy, in short-term and long-term way. Many people push over their limits, put it on camera, they want to be cool, even when their skills are not that good. It's the best way to get injured.

  • WOW

  • In a way, though, the way Belle feels about parkour and the way others do is kind of up to them. It's about finding ones own way of movement.

He didn't have the web as we do, and it seems that people making show reels is just another form of expression. Of course there are many who are in it to show off - but there are many who just want to explore their own flow of motion.

I do agree though, there are too many showy twats who don't bother even to drill basics and just want to show off flips.

  • Aaaaaah Mariconazas!!!

  • This is how it should be the way that they explain parkour should be..kinda like a philosophers path to his own journey.

I'm tired of seeing people title there videos as '' parkour / freerunning'' when it's nothing but people showing off by doing acrobats on grass or off objects. Thers no fluidity or motion there... just there ego!

I'm ired of going out to train in my local town and finding others doing nothing but flips and spins of one object and saying there doing pakour.

  • deep respect to both of them big names and big people!

  • YEAH :) THEY ARE GREAT ! Greetings from Serbia <3

  • What I found to bother me is some tracuer or 2 who got the physical idea and the mental understanding, they seem to get it pretty good.

But then someone makes a mistake or misunderstands and that tracuer will completely snap at the person.

    they don't show them the right, they just snap at them negatively for the persons mistake and then call the person names with complete brutality;

But the common issue where I live is that people are so tangled up in fear their blinded from their potential =/

  • This is epic!

  • watching david belle is always great

  • great vid, can't wait to see the next parts. as many comments said, we need more people like david, sebastien, and daniel ! Nowadays, ppl just think about shooting videos, films etc, they "dont' care" anymore on what parkour really is. Open your eyes ! Parkour is more then a sport ! It's a way of life, an everyday's philosophy. You aint a real traceur, if all you want is to show off.

  • Wahayyyy! :D

  • This is true people nowadays see Parkour as something showy and done only for the looks and entertainment. The pure and original aspect of Parkour, nowadays, is a misconception of what it really should be. Traceurs please take a modest approach to the art of Parkour and not abuse its true purity and foundation. Sebastian Foucan, David Belle, and Daniel Ilabaca are true Traceurs of the Parkour movement. Follow by their example.

  • beautiful. he is so right, people do just want to skip the subtlties and start showing off. we need more people like david, sebastian and daniell illibaca to ensure parkour doesnt become another lost art, its soo much more than that....

  • " But we all started in the same spirit "

Everyone who know about this discipline wich were known it with the name of parkour and the feelings of practice independent of if you wanna practice Parkour or Free Running.

If you like move, that is the "same spirit"...

Parkour and Free Running isn't the same, but it's the same feeling and we are united by the movement.

    :D

  • I fully agree with what David Belle is saying!!! I wish the people I train with would understand they see parkour as something so different than me they see it as a way to show off or a summer sport when im there next to them telling them I dont want to be filmed! I want to be free its like an artist pouring is heart out on a canvas trying to understand him self while everyone is ripping it from his hands and saying let me see!! When I move its just me im alone am free and focused, nevershowoff

  • @2bluekid3 I would love to hear more people with at least some form of a similar view as me and other views people that move simply to move not to do it for fame or to show off.

  • It is true what Belle saids The original concept and intire meaning of the art has been lost somewhere between what looks good and what feels right. & It is rare to see true practinors these day who admire the freedom not just "do a flip!"

  • I think Belle speaks a lot of truth at the end, but its not all like that. Especially not in the BHBParkour community that I train with, and I'm glad I've been able to experience parkour in the way that I have

  • man i wish i could read

  • Respect david!

    In all aspects!

  • 2 legends..

  • Yes, this is Parkour.. but somewhere i prefer freerun, because.. it's free!:p

  • @ichblibli

You just don't deserve to watch this video.. Maybe one day you will understand..or maybe not.

  • @TraceurRobitza Of course, I understand! This video is excellent... But I prefer freerun! I love Parkour but FOR ME Freerun is better...

  • does Belle speak english at all? beautiful speech!

  • this is dope, the two big guys in this game talking and having a good interview...this is rare. and it's nice to see how david belle still concerns about parkour and freerunning even though he's more or less a movie star!

David Belle and Sebastien Foucan are two very inspiring individuals.

  • @thaOFK Ditto that :D

  • So true what David said at the end of the video. David Belle is inspiring

  • Words from the master himself. David is absolutely right about the people rushing Parkour today. There's no longer beauty in it. People just use it to show off. They don't think about their movements. Every word he said is true.

  • @OneiricZetetic I agree with you kinda... there are a lot out there that want to show off... and some very good, but there are still some who just want to move they want to have nothing to do with the people who use it for the wrong reasons, there are still people out there that are never going to ''get noticed' simply because they dont want to be they know that parkour is in here its in side your self and there is no need to spend time trying to show others how they feel cuz its simple, justfeel

  • @OneiricZetetic look i dont want to agrue but why cant poeple show off cuz if there at the level tyo shwo off they clearly love doing it

  • @vallgron

The reason why some people want to impress/show off infront of other, is in order to feel good about themselves. That's typically human behavior. Parkour/freerunning (same thing, diffrent names) is about controll, physical strenght and mental strenght, If you can't fight the inner feeling of showing off, you're not just taking unnecessary risks, but you're not being mentally strong. The one that can stand peer presure is strong, not the one that has to impress other people.

  • will there be any video of david and sebastien training? I'm very curious to see what their movements are like now

an inspiring interview, i look forward to the next part

  • Love you guys!

  • Wow, subscribing to this channel was one of the best things I've done on youtube, Thanks Freerunningtv ^^

  • Badass!!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO xD

  • aaah Two legends having a chat about parkour..

  • David Belle *__*
