okay , dude . i got the ringtones , thanks for that . but i can't get messaging ringtones . i mean i get them on my phone , but i hit "Assign" and clicked on it.. and it said "Unsupported File Format" .. I'd like to know how to make it so it is supported!!! and when it went on my phone i used QuickTime Player.. And i couldn't change that either .. please help ?!

well I was able to email the file to my phone. But after opening the message on my phone, I didn't see an option to assign it as a text tone. I tried saving it also and then assigning it, but it didn't show up :(

If you are having problems having the phone accept it as a ringtone: make sure you UNCHECK "Hide extensions for known file types" in Folder Options on the View tab. It is called the same thing on every version of windows. This is the ONLY way to change the extension of the file correctly without converting. Otherwise you are only renaming the file, not changing the extension. An example of your fail would be "testfile.3g2.mp3", instead of the correct "testfile.3g2". Vote this up if it helped.

This does work for SPRINT users however you have to send it with a different e-mail address obviously. you should put in "whatever your number is"@pm.sprint.com.

If you're not on Virgin Mobile, then you need to change the email address. I know it's something simple to understand but I was kinda stupid and kept sending to vmpix when I have Sprint, not Virgin Mobile.

I have been having the same problem as well I think virgin mobile has done something to prvent it.

But I found a way around it use makeownringtone.cum" replace the u with a o

Select what part of the song you want and choose the format qcp and choose to send it through email.

The same number you would send it through example 123456789@vmpix

It works and it's a lot easier hope I helped. :)

Thank bro but the message tones technique doesn't work.... though i did a little research and i found an effective, 100% GUARANTEE, technique to work. IMPORTANT: This technique will most likely work if the file .qcp size is less than 500kb

1) email the .qcp tone to your number: 1234567890@pixmbl.com

2) WALLAH you will receive it as a text message in a minute

3) Click MORE > VIEW ATTACHMENT then SAVE or SET AS RINGER

Yea, I shortened the message tone to only 104kb and renamed w/ qcp... still getting an email back from Sprint saying exceeds max size allowed. I can make the file smaller, but at this point its almost getting to the point where it's not worth it.

The ringtones transferred perfectly on my Sprint phone, however the message tone was unsuccessful. When I tried to send a text from my email, it was sent back as undeliverable saying that the message exceeds the max message size allowed. The message tone is only 402KB and total text/email 403KB. Still digging to find out what the cap is.

ok i have fixed the problem with the attachment problem.....follow the same steps above but go to toneBee.com and sign up (totally free and it takes like 2 minutes) Load your mp3 file and then customize... save it to your computer. Now find it rename the ext. to qcp. now send it it your phone via email. I did all of these things and put in a subject and some random words for the text. It should work. :) u could probably do the same steps above but just add a subject and text.. ill try that too
