@bide777 You know, TGV uses jacobs bogies? This enlarges the individual load per wheel -and this again increases wear on both the track and the train. 2nd the Velaro has all wagons motorized. So individualization of the train size is no problem at all. With the TGV you're stuck to the fixed limits of the locomotives. The TGV and the first ICEs were national developments, never meant to be internationalized/individualized at all. The Velaro was designed for this very reason. Variable as possible
