  • what the fuck is so dangerous about fuel in water if there is no fire around?

  • As a pilot, I can say that was a very good forced landing on water. He kept it just above stall speed until he was mere feet above the water, very well done.

  • Did you get that? Yessssss.... fapafapafapa...

  • XD that fuckin guys goin down, all calm lol

  • Shout out to all of the armchair pilots critiquing something they obviously know very little about.

  • Did U get a Fish???

  • Fatal and incredibly naïve pilot error. I don´t know how many flying hours did the pilot have, but if he was experienced enough he was supposed to know that in case of engine malfunction the last thing you must think of is trying to "slow down" the fall by keeping the nose up, as he did here. Consequence: the plane loses speed (and height) rapidly and falls stone-like. Why didn´t he nose down a bit to gain a bit of speed, get easier controls and try a smoother ditch? What plane is that, anyway?

  • Well, as the pilots always say, "Any landing you walk away from is a good one."

  • @Crazylegs973 nobody walked away

  • I thought it was a RC plane

  • Here*

  • How did I get hear from waterslides

  • Thumbs up if you searched Plane crash

  • hehe i am ur girl

  • ehm I love good company slow music candle lights

  • 1:33 - "Despite the danger, bystanders wade into the water to rescue them".

1:43 - Policeman standing on the bank watching it all happen.

  • hm Tell me your desires! Tell me the way you want me

  • so Feeling like having a little fun? Come see me and lets talk

  • why is there no comment saying "do a barrel roll" ? LOL

  • Thanks God there /okey

  • The first thing he's worried about when the plane crashes is if his friend caught it on tape.

  • It was actually stalling all the way down......this aircraft falls instead of stalls...its called a "failing leaf "stall. All you can do is use the rudder to keep the wings level ( yes rudder). Im learning in one of these at the moment! Stalling was one of my lessons.....and no matter how had we tried...we couldnt do a tradional stall.

  • i was the one who saved thoes people

  • He was riding the edge of a stall in order to clear the trees. He actually did an outstanding job of it too. He made it to the lake and then pitched down just a bit. Any more and he'd have only increased the speed at which he hit the water. Given the circumstances, this was a great bit of piloting (and a whole lot of luck!!)

  • @pegati1 you clearly have no idea what youre talking about.. fly the plane is EXACTLY what you do in a time like this.. you pitch for best glide and land normally. The hazard to an engine failure is the lack of control in regards to WHERE you land.. HOW you land is entirely up to the pilot and it looks like this guy panicked!

  • Looked like an RC plane.. =P

  • the gasket or whatever was probably like $3, life's little moments

  • i hope the plane is ok!! :D

  • @karashaable shut up, that joke is way over used. Come up with something more original

  • @inmaniak hahaha..

  • The way that plane made it t the lake and went down it's almost eactly like when I barely make it t the tiolet before I drop a duce.

  • I hope that the 3 men are okay... :C

  • Wonder much that valve cost which malfunctioned?

Small thing like that cost the guy a $70,000 plane and almost the lives of him and his two friends.

  • Wonder much that valve cost which malfunctioned?

  • 1st fisherman- holy s**t that plane crashed

2n fisherman- YES!!!! i gotta bite!!!!!

  • Looks like he was stretching the glide to make the water. Not a nice choice to have to make but I suspect that if he had put the nose down to maintain airspeed, as suggested, he would have gone into the trees and the result could have been one hell of a lot worse. Stretching the glide is normally a bad choice - in this case I suggest he did the best that he could, with a good outcome in the circumstances.

  • @viscount812 "stretching the glide" in pilot terms means you're not doing it right. I agree though that he did the best he could...that's all you can do in those situations.

  • @viscount812 You can't "stretch a glide" by flying slower than best glide speed. He would have been better to pitch down to clear the trees and execute a more controlled landing into the lake.

  • @jobeone That's more or less what I wrote isn't it? Problem is that in a high stress situation such as this (and, thank God, the closest I've come is a mag failure on climbout) is that your reaction has to be automatic - particularly when you see things going pear shaped as I think happened to this guy at the end.

  • Are you pinned in there? yeah. Ok, why don't you just sit in there until an ambulance arrives... ok..

  • @eatingcatshit haha I know it sounds so funny

  • nice to see the cop protecting and serving the nation

  • 1:31 despite the danger bystander go to rescue the people. yet at 1:42 there's a cop standing right there. Why the hell do the normal people have to rescue them when there is cops there.

  • @Azzi61, because they are lazy, doughnut eating, tax money gobbling losers...

  • @Azzi61 because he didnt want to get his box of doughnuts and his gun wet .

  • My dad is a pilot and he once flew a plane with about 42 million dollars in it, glad he didnt crash while flying it

  • i like how causal the camera man is like this thing happens all the time

  • Guy 1: Dude, that plane's going down

Guy 2: OH GOD SHOULD WE CALL 911!?!?

Guy 1: Dude tape it tape it think how many views it'll get on YouTube!

  • people stop whining about them not going over there you would be filming to and dont deny it..... also there was PLANE FUEL all over it was dangerous to get close so kindly stfu

  • Bet,Min kai is in the plane!!All of the crashing ones!!!

  • I know what happend, hey Joe that looks like a nice fishingspot, (lets fake engine trouble) Maaac this is nooot a seaplane.

  • Comment removed

  • "we got to go see if hes ok."

  • "Holy ****! Did you get that?". I CARE MORE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAN RECORDING THE FU*KING PLANE!!!

  • @cooltristan99 Yeah, hes Captain Planet. Hes gonna fly up there and carry the plane to safety. What else can he do other than tape it? You're a fucking moron that just follows every other youtube commenters without using a brain.

  • this is by my house,it was weird

  • ITS LIKE MY BROTHER TRYING TO PARK THE CAR

  • @nate4032 one problem, your mothers car can't fly:P

  • Oh yea, Officer "I CANT GET MY PANTS WET" or fishing trailer trash? Trailer trash any day !!!

  • \ . / "

  • Dun dun dun, drama drama drama. People are in danger but it's all so dramatic. But wait! First concern... "Did you get that?" and then, "We gotta go check that out." probably with the sole intention of getting a "close up dude." Sorry, but 'giving a bad name for Americans' doesn't come close.

  • a cloged valve is that the same as having the fuel turned off

  • hahahaha... "are you pinned in there?" "yeah" "why dont you just wait right there."

  • "I got it! I got it! I don't got it!" *Splash*

  • -X-X- FOR SALE -X-X-

    nice small plane

low old lady miles just washed OBO

  • omg thats like wii sports resorts where u can die!! LE GASP!

  • his turbulence was horrible

  • Why is it that americans always have to add fake sounds to video footage...?

    Always...it, never fails...

  • Pontiac Lake, MI repppin

  • could you imagine them trying to get people to believe their fishing story if they never had it on tape.... greatest ever!!!!

  • why didn't he/she just get out of the plane before it crashed O_o

  • @Freerunner252 four men planes usually dont have ejector seats

  • @Firemoon454 yea but they do have doors which open xD

  • Those fishermen are complete pansies. Thanks for the great vid; glad you boys didn't get your feet wet.

  • what dicks!!

they totally scared the fish off

  • hey did you get? no! because there's a rat aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • ouchy

  • Camon stupid piece of metal

    Nooooooooo!

Splash! .... Oh look a duck

  • somebody forgot engine failure procedures......did he ever think to set his airspeed??

  • No one will ever know but the pilot.

  • Nice flying, she was almost on a stall.Very lucky, could easley gone other way

  • The pilot did an excellant job of getting to the water, he had lost too much air speed to glide it in though, hit really hard it appeared. I'd take the water over trying to stall it over tree tops!

  • @LkOutMtnMan I don't think he did such a great job at all. Constantly trying to hold the nose up is what caused him to loose airspeed stall almost costing him if life

  • @Prickler32 You may be right, that crossed my mind too, thought he should have lowered the nose when he saw he had cleared the trees to get up airspeed and better glide angle. Haven't flown one of those I don't think and not sure how the controls react with power down. Sure was a belly flop!

  • "Revolution 20, Vers 4,...

    and it would grapped..."

  • The cop at 1:43 is just loking from beside. please thumps up:)

  • wow if he was going a bit faster he wouldn't have stalled and he could have done a good ditch landing.

  • lol the guy said turn the engine off yeah like im gonna turn it off while im pinned to a crashed plane

  • @killer8479394 yeah he wasnt talking to the guy in the plane more the guys in the boats with hot exhaust gasses that could have set the fuel on the surface of the water on fire blowing everyone in the area to hell. im sure the plane engine was already off after the fact anyway by the looks of that impact.

  • @gtafan2006 Oh lol

  • I wonder what kind of bait the fisherman was using

  • @VirenKickedPresAss are you sierus thats not the point of the video god sometimes i think- damn but did u see that squirrel?

  • @killer8479394 What is "sierus"?

Was that an Evinrude engine on that boat?

  • @VirenKickedPresAss lol i mispelled serious

  • most people dont realize it but everytime the plane swings like that is another chance of it going upside down and causing automatic death ... to maintain control as he did was AMAZING ..... though he should have dipped the nose down

  • Must keep airspeed to avoid stall at low altitude. This pilot kept the nose high and panckaked in, resulting in injuries. Would have been better to keep nose down, maintain airspeed, then bleed off during flare. Didn't happen here.

  • It was a lucky catch. But if you are spending your day videoing someone else fishing, you've made some questionable life choices.

  • This pipipilot had power to keep altitude or at least extend the glide to a softer ditching but you can see he kept nose up in panic, slowed down to the stall and dropped like a rock on a place with boats and people. There have been splashes like that in which boaters and bathers have been killed. No excuses. He stalled like a 10 hour panicky student.

  • I'm CFI of over 20 years and 3 engine partial fails on take off in singles in which I couldn't climb. I teach Partial Power power eng fail (1,800 rpm) I do them first at altitude then at 500 feet agl turning crosswind leg + turnaround the airport. ( A tr500 at minimum level power or tr500mlp. If you panic and pull too much (many pilots do) you increase drag, slow down and stall. If you have the guts and dont PanicPull you will keep altitute and do the pattern. This guy had power to keep alt

  • THEY SHOULD OF JUMPED BEFORE THEY HIT THE WATER

  • i still would of taped the squirl trying to bust a nut.

  • Where the fuck do they these prices? Out of their fucking assholes? $70,000 plane?? $11,000 sports bike?!!? $8000 racing boat!?!?

  • I like the way the police help. Oh no wait, there on the bank.

  • we got to see if he's alright. ''no, no I'm fine ya I'm fine I just broke my neck and suffer from intense internal bleeding."

  • listen to 1:37 very funny

  • Comment removed

  • "That fucking guy is going down man..." XD

  • Nice to see that officer standing there overseeing everything :/

  • @cam2697 With all that fuel in the water there was a huge possibility of a fire breaking out. The officer followed standard protocol of not risking becoming a victim himself (and adding to the problem). The proper protocol is for him is to stand by until certified water rescue/paramedic help arrives (even though its only 4ft and sounds funny). Doing otherwise could cost him his job and potentially aggravate the situation (he isn't certified to remove a victim from a wrecked vehicle PROPERLY)

  • @cam2697 You see a few seconds of a standing-around cop in a video, and presume that he stayed glued in that same place and pose for 2-hours? For all you know he may have been the one to strip to the waist and wade out to the airplane.

Your bias is obvious. When is your parole up?

  • @cam2697 Wtf with that officer

  • If I'm not mistaken, that plane is a Bellanca... When I was young, my father had a Bellanca 260. We were flying to Memphis, TN and had a very similar problem and had to maintain full throttle to keep it running. The tower asked us to pattern so they could clear. We patterned over a large lake outside Memphis. When the tower asked us to pattern again, my father said, "No. I'm putting it down now." Tower gave clearance and said, "Good luck." The engine died as soon as we touched and cut power.

  • 2:21 Charles Manson saviour?

  • try ground effect!!

  • Man that was a very good emergency landing.

  • Need a life jacket?

No my arms broken but i'll swim. I'll be just K... OMG I DIED

  • He stalled instead of gliding it. If he glided it he could not have mess his wimpy backbone with that splash.

  • @CFITOMAHAWK2 A strange comment coming from a flying instructor.. Exactly where you touch down can have a huge bearing on the survivability of a ditching. If ditching into a lake, it is best to try to land as close to shore as possible. If there's a beach or shallow water, then aim for it. I can't tell how wide the lake is but gliding out into deeper water may have drowned all on board.

  • @TRUFFLEHOUNDEXPRESS Well, one of the basic you learn at flight school is that, in case of engine failure, you don't try to hold your altitude, you glide - that's because if you try to keep the airplane from descending but with no power coming from the engine, you stall. Seriously, the airplane was clearly at pre-stall before the ditching, they were lucky it didn't stalled and crashed onto the trees. It's way better to ditch smoothly further away from shore than to slam belly first like he did.

  • @murilovsilva I flew my first powered solo in 1987 ( I had gliding experience prior to that) so, for the record, I do have some experience. I fully appreciate what you're saying but in the partcular circumstances if he'd stuck by the book he would have lost altitude more rapidly and would have probably flown into the trees. It made sense to try for the lake. He could have stuck the nose down to gain airspeed immediately after clearing the trees but that would have probably been fatal.

  • see? plane need a life jacket! not only ship!

  • The cop is just sitting there doing nothing.

  • nice pilot!

  • The timing of the bleep at 2:10 is hilarious.

  • this reminds me of gta...:/

  • 1337 likes!

  • Listen closely at 1:57 that girl better have not been laughing

  • @AssassinFusion it was a dog

  • @AssassinFusion That is a dog barking...

  • will everyone PLEASE shut up and enjoy the damn video?!

  • I want that dude flying my plane when it decides to peter out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did everyone live?

  • @XxSiiCkXKiilZxX if u would have listened, yes

  • /watch?v=3Otsx-RHeis

  • in sovit Russa plane destro....... you were am going with this

  • seems like the pilot did an excellent job in landing it where he did.

  • i believe this aircraft is a piper arrow for all you airplane fans out there

  • Where is the danger ?? Its already crashed. Its not going to crash again.

  • @Janusha leaking fuel that could ignite burning everything to shit is pretty dangerous

  • @jimmyreed112

Perhaps you didnt notice... they are standing in water. HAve you ever tried to set fire to water ?

  • @Janusha the fuel is less dense than water so itll float to the top and form a layer of fuel on top of the water.if theres a spark itll burn like crazy. i wouldnt like to be near that plane

  • @jimmyreed112

There is NO risk of a wet metal object half submerged in water would catch fire and even if all the fuel was actually burning there would be no danger at all. They will obviously make it sound very dramatic (as if a crashed plane wasnt dramatic enough) because its on TV. But there is no actual, real danger.

  • @Janusha i never said the plane would burn. why would there be no danger if the fuel was burning? im pretty sure human flesh isnt fire retardant. put it this way; you wouldnt catch any sane person standing around when there was burning fuel. its not a case of dramatising it...its just inherently dangerous to have a fuel leak. if there was a spark that could also potentially lead to an explosion of fuel remaining in the tank too. perhaps its time to admit youre wrong before the inevitable happens

  • @jimmyreed112

Have you seen burning fuel ontop of water ?? Its harmless. Ive tried to make fuel explode. Its hard. I dont know what fuel they use for this kind of plane but usually plane-fuel is alot less explosive than car fuel. Its american tv... Obviously its all about over dramatizing it. If you look at these other, similar videos they add fake explosion noises and do their absolute best to over dramatize every single aspect. As if reality just wasnt real enough.

  • @Janusha its avgas which is a leaded fuel. and yes i have seen burning fuel on top of water. its highly dangerous and will melt your face off if you go anywhere near it. trust me you dont want to be near it if it ignites. take that as fact. yes they do over dramatise these things to make it sound more dramatic but in this instance the reality is that there is a danger present.

  • @jimmyreed112

Clearly a recently crashed plane, leaking gasoline isnt the favourite place to be but danger... Naah. The only danger here is that the trapped pilot is lucky he landed in a place where he was able to keep his head above water or he would have been dead before anyone got to them.

  • @Janusha so you would honestly feel safe in a pool filled with water and avgas with a plane in it stuffed with electronics that could short circuit due to the contact with water causing sparks that would most likely ignite the fuel? well youre one of a very small number of people with a death wish who would be ok with that. there is a big danger wherever theres a fuel leak. i dont think you understand just how volatile this stuff is

  • Silly arse.. That happens in movies. In the real world the electric system in the plane would be completly short circuted by the water. That doesnt mean it creates sparks. That means its dead. There is nothing more magic about a crashed plane in the lake than a crashed car. Somehow people dont find it dangerous to go up to crashed cars. We are used to planes and helicopters exploding because of movies.

  • @Janusha crashed cars hardly ever have ruptured fuel tanks because theyre made entirely of plastic and are below the back seats. in a plane both wings are filled with the stuff and if the wings so much as bend there will most likely be a fuel leak since the tank has an all metal skin and it will have to tear to allow for the bend. when something short circuits it sparks. get an aa battery and place a thin wire from one end to the other in a puddle of avgas if you dont believe thats dangerous.

  • @jimmyreed112

This isnt a puddle of gas. Its a lake with some gas on it. Get a grip dude.

  • @Janusha it doesnt matter. ive already explained to you that the avgas will float on the surface. you get a grip. dude

  • They are lucky to be alive.. All of them. The lake could have exploded at any time.

  • @Janusha you really are an insufferable oaf. learn some science

  • Think about that clogged valve next time you order nachos.

  • ooo holly crp i saw this on tv the guy was drunk ! XD

  • First sentence: "Did you get that?" Omfg... a person might have been injured...

  • yeah dont go help or anything just make sure u got it on tape....

  • Is there a particular reason why airplanes are not equipped with strong parachutes that would come out the top of the plane???

  • @litetheory expensive and not available for older aircraft. But all cirrus aircraft and sportstars come with ballistic parachutes which work pretty well.

  • A couple glider pilots, a few rotorcraft pilots and lots of fixed wing pilots - interesting cross section of aviators.

I guess what can be agreed upon, through all the dissertation, is that glider practice in a Viking isn't taught/practiced. They have the sink rate of a boulder.

Pilot of this Viking, however the magic occurred, got himself and the other 2 souls back to mother earth alive. Well done.

  • Holy ***! = Holy Ass?

  • He could of tried to turn the plane in to a glider by pushing the nose down and would have been able to flare.it would have hlep a lot.

  • I can't believe the camera man kept filming as they approached the plane. Get the fuck out of your boat, into the water and help save some lives.

I guess we can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by.

Cameraman, you will always be the guy on the curb!

  • Great job at slow flight. This guy knows how to fly an airplane.

  • @TheVoiceOfTemptation Yes he does XD

  • @TheVoiceOfTemptation Seriously. That was an amazing job.

  • @TheVoiceOfTemptation He would have been better off if he dropped the nose of the aircraft and kept the airspeed up a bit more and put down in the water. He was trying to stay airborne and the aircraft just stalled and hit the water quite hard instead of a more controlled flared landing. thankfully it worked out. Not a nice situation to be in thats for sure!

  • @TheVoiceOfTemption No cause he couldnt even keep control so u'd have to control to keep the airplane going down straight

  • @Irl924racer If he came in with his nose down, he would have picked up to much airspeed. He would have most likely ran out of water to land on. Plus, if he was already had a low airspeed when the engine cut out, it would have been nanoseconds until it stalled.

  • @thefinalfrontier1701 Pilot training 101...in the event of an engine failure pitch for best glide speed...which this pilot did not do. The altitude the pilot had at the time the camera caught it on tape was high enough where the pilot could have lowered the nose and recovered from a stalled condition to bring it in for a smoother landing...and the lake looked plenty big for him to control the aircraft to a designated spot on the lake. But that's just the way it looked from the video.

  • @Irl924racer no kidding, ppl dont realize that when your goin down you cant fly the plane, you have to crash the plane, ppl die from mistakes like this

  • @Irl924racer if he hit the nose first he would of killed everyone though ? he did good by trying to land it on water i think :)

  • @TheVoiceOfTemptation this video is crazy

  • 1:42 Why is a police officer standing there looking on as ordinary citizens work to rescue the guy? Could be the editing, but still..

  • @bucsrock225 Maybe because he's not the Marine Police. He doesn't work for fire and rescue. Or.......maybe he can't swim.

  • shoulda just tried a water landing

  • Did you get that?

No i decided to tape squirrel instead of a fucking plane crashing into earth.
