Tanker 09 crashed right after takeoff in Lemmon valley, NV just east of stead airport in Stead, NV

I read that they are planning to replace that P-2 with the Q400 civilian turboprop in the near future.

I will be sad to see them go.

Tanker 09 crashed yesterday Septmber 1 on a fire near Hope Valley in Nevada. All three crew members died.

They died in the line of duty trying to save the lives and property of others.

#55 was Navy bureau # 148344. First SP-2H aircraft I was a crew member of in 1967.

tanker 55 and 48 are owned by minden air out of minden nv. tanker 55 can only fly at 55 miles per hour!!!
