I want Jim back! I miss old Sesame Street. I used this song as a theme for my husbands birthday one year & now THIS is our song!!! so glad you posted this.
I gave him crullers & coffee for breakfast then gave him a huge Monet (print) during lunch Dinner was a great restaurant & I gave him a bracelet that had diamonds on it (well the pieces were diamonds shaped anyway!LOL) & I never said a word about the song until I gave him that bracelet then I said: Anything to show how much I love you!
i forgot the muppets were a part of sesame street but it was b4 i was born so i missed the better sesame street was on lol i am too old for any version now......
Does anyone have Kermit and his nephew Robin singing about the glen? He and Robin are in Scottland were he sings about whatelse a glen. Frogs playing the bagpipes wearing klits. Was a really cool song. I'm proud to be a frog in the glen.
This is a great classic Kermit song. Thanks so much for sharing this!! I just watch Kermit on Deal or No Deal and Steve Whitmire just doesn't due Kermit justice. R.I.P. Jim Henson
I'm sure I'm not alone on this one: I always loved this one best; it was like Kermit was singing right to ME. That's what made it extra great. How can you resist a frog that says he loves you? Too cool!
I haven't seen this in YEARS. Thank you so much for posting this! I think that this is what started to get me interesting in music like this. And the meaning behind the song is so sweet.
There was a brief time in the early 70s when medieval stuff like this was considered "rock": Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, older Al Stewart and the like.
Does anyone know if there's a tab for this play this song on guitar? Its such a beautiful and yet sorrowful song...

Such a beautiful song. Was that a flute or a recorder? Also, anyone know who he's singing this song too?

It's a wooden recorder. Modern (transverse) flutes weren't introduced to Europe until the 1700's.

This is such a creative and different piece of music. Kermit's songs are more diverse than those of most professional singers- and more heartfelt.

Not a take on Simon and Garfunkel, it's original. Filled with medieval and renaissance celtic-folk influence, incredible song!

One of my favorite Kermit songs. Great message, and the overall tune and atmosphere is wonderful. Great find here.

Now that I've heard it again I find it to be a beautiful Kermit song. As a child I may have found it too sad and Kermit's "fa la las" scared me.

I've been waiting for this one myself-remember this one from my childhood-although for some reason I think this song frightened me!

There are bells on the end of each front thing.
I think it's meant to resemble some sort of joker or jester.
