@akute1 Most of the top selling brands of cereal are full of sugar in the form of high-fructose corn syrup, if that's not bad enough, they are also pumped full additives and preservatives that are absolutely horrible for your body. These are cereals like Cheerios, Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops etc. And I gotta say, I don't think most kids eat Shredded Wheats.

If I wasn't an anarchist, I would want this stuff to be outlawed. I think that marketing junk food to children is just evil.

Parents need to practice kid-defense by keeping these ads away from their children as much as possible. If they do see them occasionally, you can explain to them that these advertisers are just trying to make money at the expense of their health. Then go outside with them and work in the vegetable garden.

You'd be surprised how much sugar is snuck into cereals: Coco Pops, Cookie Crisps, Sugar Puffs (duh), Granola etc. Porridge is great so long as you add raisins or similar to sweeten it, and High Fibre cereal's good too, but none of the above.

i hate to break it to ya, but yes it is. High glycemic food that is processed, generally loaded with artificial sweetener or sugar. Not a nutrient dense food, and really expensive for puffed air.
