companies just ask companies over seas to make it cause its cheaper if your mad cause they use sweat shops its like getting mad at your mom because she wont clean your room they are a company trying to make money they cant fulfill their dreams with the cost of greedy company owners here so they go overseas they cant do anything about how those workers are treated except not use the shops but then they go out of business because they cant afford to make stuff cheep for us because of greedy USA
true.......disney is no longer magical. for them its all about business, marketing their products to maximise profits.....and making workers work like robots, slaves.....there is no fucking human right.
Wouldent it be very hard to gather new pictures / evidence seeing that the Disney Company dosent allow camaras inside the there shops and anyone found with a cellphone camra would be Fired ?
disney is really good a lot of kis are into bc of the pretty pictures and everything magical going on. but if disney is always showing hidden exploit messages why do they air it out i thought they were suppose to get edited but because they make so much money they jus leave the company alone.
its the governements fault of these countries for not having a N.M.W.but if they did then where would disney, nike etc get there products made???theyd have to take a huge dip in profits if national minimun wage was a worldwide law the bastards.theres people at the top of these businesses payn '3rd world' govts to run there countries like this,so that there will always be cheap labour.there sitting with billions,BILLIONS,while kids slave away to avoid the sex trade,ETC.i hope they fucking burn!!!!
I would have to agree. I'm not even a fan of Disney but the correlation made here between Disney and sweatshops is weak at best. Sweatshops are a byproduct of global interventionism, not free markets. WTO, NAFTA, etc actually INCREASE corruption and inequity. Disney may benefit, but no more so than any other product that contains a "Made in China" label. To effectively protest sweatshops you would need a video for virtually every product made.
Ok I dont mean to be controversal, yes I understand that this seems really bad. But firstly lets not forget the hundreds of thousands of people they put into work, secondly how is this an american corperations problems, is this not Indias problem.
They are paying them in ratio to the economy system, its the most efficient way to do business.
No one is holding a gun to their head, and in the long run they are strengthening the economic system of India.
Listen I figure that this is a good cause and all but this doesn't really prove that Disney does sweatshops. The photos show no evidence of anything disney except for that dusty mickey doll. All I saw where pictures of sad and poor people and disney photos. Again I know this is for a good cause and I agree that sweatshops are unexceptable in todays society but at least have some proof other than random sweatshop pictures.
If you watch a video called "Chinese Workers in Disney's World" (and yes I mean "Disney's World, not "Disney World) you can see a woman holding a book with Mickey on the cover while describing how dangerous it is for the workers pressing these books together. There are videos of the sweatshop and one of the workers says "our biggest client is Disney". The username of whoever posted it is nlcnet.

unfortunately no. The concept of "right" is subjective from situation to situation. While we find it appalling, there are huge segments of the planet that can only dream of this type of opportunity. These areas are typically governed by people and systems infinitely more corrupt than our own. People = problems
There Are Over 500 Differnt Brand Names That Use Sweat Shops. Nike And Gap Are Some Of The Biggest Groups. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, DC Shoes, And Many More Use Sweat Shops.
No. I know the vice-prisident of the Disney Corporation (Delynne Ano), in charge of supplier diversity. She does several surprise inspections each year of many factories in Asia, ensuring that their products do NOT come from sweat shops and workers are treated fairly.
Yes, that is true. I am related to what seems like billions that work at Disney, all over the ladder. I have NEVER, EVER heard of such pain with Disney. But I would guess Wal-Mart, referring to ObbyShaggz. XD
well look at companies who don't use sweatshops or something similar, they are union. Their companies are fucked right now. The only succeeding airline, southwest, non-union. only succeeding store, wal-mart, non-union. only foreign car companies are doing good because of them being non-union.
That was crap!it was just a regular factory and there was picture of children and familys crying!they weren't crying because they were working in factorys it looked like they were living in war zones!then the pictures of the kids in the thirtys weer just regular factorys that how it was back then!this didn't prove anything!
what a piece of crap this video is. sweatshop pics from the 30's???? come on. if you want to change peoples views of products at least put forth some effort to show quality material.
wtf was this? It's a full minute of disney footage and then a picture of a modern factory and I can't see what they're making. I'm not even sure that's a sweatshop, its just a big clothing factory. Then more disney characters, and a national disaster, some sad people, and some pictures from 150 years ago... and this is supposed to make me hate disney? That would probably work on some really weak minded people, but the absolute lack of... anything... made me laugh.
Well, I used to love all things Disney. I was a Stitch and Oswald collector, but no more until Disney cleans up their act. Now, instead of feeling happiness when I see Oswald, Mushu, Stitch, Koda, Mitchie, Shane, Hannah, and the Russo family, I see sadness, horror, the suffering of countless people, and products I will no longer buy. Disney claims they make dreams, but what they really do is destroy them.
Check out Disney's exploitation of cheap college student labor at its theme parks...the J1 and Q1 Visas allow thousands of foreign workers to work in Orlando in order to dilute American workers' wages.
Fair enough, sweatshops are a problem, but it's not helpful to just give us a bunch of generic stock footage. If you're going to go after Disney, it would be wise to first gather some evidence specifically related to Disney. I saw images of Disney characters with randomly interspersed images of people producing unknown things in factories, and others of unhappy people, none of which had any clear connection to Disney...
Really? I don't think it's really "top mark" material to be honest. None of those sweatshop pictures actually relate to Disney's substandard manufacturing practices, and you provided absolutely NO factual information.
very poorly done video.
