At 1:20 Super Tux is a great platform game. I finished many levels, and then I came into a difficult level where I stuck. The enemies are nice and funny :-)
@heydude09876 i realy want to buy a netbook 11.6 inch. i was going to buy acer one 11.6 (1.33 ghz) but i found out it had some issues with the visual effects. do u have any suggestions? should i w8 for something new?
@Vlaxiti well i'm talking about an acer aspire One AOD250 10.1" and there dosent seem to be a problem with it, if i were to suggest another OEM it would probably be System 76, ive never ordered from them before but if you look around you may find some reviews, they also pre-install Ubuntu and make sure the hardware is compatible.
i'm pretty sure Dell and hp are ok as well but you may need an Ethernet cord to install the wifi drivers and maybe gfx card drivers....
@SuperBrandango yes, i especially like there new look, I never liked the green/black look in the old default but the new default actually looks really nice with a silver/silver or green/silver theme (for me the opposite opinion occurs with Ubuntu "i hate purple themes")... of coarse thats all changeable...
it also works well and I have not had any real problems yet. BTW the software installer in the applications menu (search bar) in ingenious and saves loads of time.
@heydude09876 Haha i see what you mean with ubuntu, well i think ubuntu is easier to install, cause one you boot the flashdrive, and press enter a menu will pop up before it loads the os demo and you can install straight from there, no need to go through the demo, were you aware of that?
@SuperBrandango yeah, but if i were to just want a straight install without loading a "real" GUI i would just download the alternative cd that runs as just the installer (also in text mode)
Windows Seven is the highest quality operating system i have ever used. My mate and I downloaded it cost-free via Windows7FreeDLXcom (replace X with . ) and have not had any issues!
I never really looked into Mint, I'm a very long time Debian user (since 1998, Slackware before that). I've toyed with Gentoo, Ubuntu, Stormix, and some other Debian "ports" but I always go back to vanilla Debian.
I remember installing Mint and thought it looked horrible. I know it's customisable but Ubuntu is just superb so haven't given any other distros a look.
Really? I haven't had any problem running Ubuntu Karmic Koala on my asus netbook. The only issue i had had is that my wifi card isn't working to well. Other than everthing runs smooth, i've even play some of the linux fps (first person shooter) games.
Great video! Linux Mint for the win! A few things stood out to me while watching your video. The first was you mentioned you were not sure how to switch back and forth from one workspace to another, a great way to do that is to go to your panel, right click and click add to panel, and you can put a workspace switcher right on the panel! And the other thing was the kernel panic you spoke of. I had that with 8.04 and 8.10, it was the power manager causing it: pwrnwd i think. Awesome video!
Thanks. Mint works so well, I can almost say I won't use anything else. Then again, it is still too fun to explore and compare all the new and appealing alternatives.
How can i add firefox to panel?

What happening when i install mint on a win7 eee notebook ?, will i be able to get to both os?
roffpoff 5 months ago
@roffpoff Yes you can dual boot, just get Win7 to resize the NTFS and you can install to the free space. This will give a dual boot system.

How easily did it install to the netbook?

If your mouse has a wheel, that could be used to switch between the workspaces....

That's very true I have found that Linux works best on Home PC's / Tower PC'S...
but Don't always run well on portable computers like Laptops / NetBooks...
