Civilization is more addictive than expensive raw, unfiltered crack, because the game just won't let you go once you start playing. It's like asking a general to go do something else while a major battle is going on...
And the massive amounts of high-quality mods sure didn't help!
The only Civ games I've played are Civilization II: Test of Time (One of my favorites), Civilization IV, and the spin-off game, Alpha Centauri.
The only thing that pisses me off about Civilization IV is that Pyramids don't act as a granary in all cities... Seriously, what the hell? That used to be one of the most important structures to build, and now it's been downsized to being minor. All in all, very good series.
I think there was another structure that does the granary thing now, but the pyramids are still really important, since getting all those civics at the beginning of the game is really helpful
That's why cops use batons. Wielding a Christmas tree just isn't practial when chasing down thieves hehe. Reading the manual is always a taunting task which I try to avoid. Thankfully I was introduced to Civ by my friend so I picked up how to play by watching him have a go.
Why dont u put Civilization IV review in video title instead of just Civilization... people get confused..

Have you had a chance to play Civ: Revolutions? It's quite a step in a different direction, I'm not sure if I like it.

It didn't look like much of an improvement from the reviews, and I prefer long games to short ones, so I never played Revolution.
