Sarginto3...there's nothing wrong with GE or their product. Dstevans, you'll never see this happen in GCT because the trainsets run into the terminal in electric mode with the main engine at low idle or completely shut down if the engineer is good. That's a pretty common occurance on older GE locomotives.
ah my beloved GE locomotives. reminds me of the U34s NJT used to have. ask any engineer, swipe the throttle to notch 6 from idle and that's what you get in a GE, they load up fast and you get turbo-lag and woohoo.
@dstevans Dude if it happens in GCT then you'd die from smoke inhalation, and if you were already in the car then the train might not have enough horsepower since the turbocharger died-the flames are the turbo overspeeding and disinigrating.
Oh, well, at least the FDL prime movers have character! lol, GE suppossedly fixed that problem with EFI.....hmmm, apparently, this Genny reverted to its Dash 8 blood. lol
226 put on quite a show.that was cool that 226 did.

good thing nothing in the diesel tank blew up or the whole station would be under fire, GE must make better locomotives

P32AC-DM's and P40BH's are Dash 8's. P42's are Dash 9 series

Yes. He said that.

He said it reverted to its Dash 8 blood. Which I assume he meant it sipposed to be a Dash 9 with EFI.

@BNSF5608 dude, many people keep saying that-- no genesis locomotive's are in the dash-8/9 seires
