People in communist countries like north korea, soviet, east germany or yugoslavia were not allowed to have tv.Maybe some of them had color tv broadcast earlier than Korea but it doesn't mean anything since they were not to make any color tvs.
@kmfw72 N.Korea ,may already had colour TV during 1980's but during the 1990's S.Korean people upgreaded their B/W Tv to Color and North Korean had to sell it for food.
@jado2000 Sure - many poor and undeveloped countries in Africa got TV before South Africa, which didn't have it at all until 1976 - but had the advantage of being able to go straight to colour, and more people able to afford TV.
After Toyota's withdrawal in 1972, Shinjin Motor started a joint venture with General Motors under the name General Motors Korea, but was renamed again in 1976 to Saehan Motor. After the Daewoo Group gained control in 1982 the name was changed to Daewoo Motor
GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM Daewoo or GMDAT) was first established as National Motor in 1937 in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. After changing its name to Saenara Motor in 1962, Saenara Motor was bought by Shinjin Industrial in 1965, which changed its name to Shinjin Motor after establishing collaborations with Toyota.
Daewoo have always been linked to GM...or GM alaways had Actually in the 1970s Daewoo were building Toranas (badged as "Chevrolet 1700") - including a 'Torana' variant Australia never had - a WAGON
no. koreans bought license and rights for rebadging Opel unlike chinese companies today which makes knock-offs and clones without permission and not guilty about it.
