  • beautiful song !

  • she is a great singer

  • just fell in luv with this song first time ever heard it .............!

  • I love her!

  • She is magnificent, a talent nowhere at the level of recognition she deserves. And she is from Alaska, no less.

  • gtukdutgfvwertyuiosdfghvb

  • This version isn't my kind of thing...

  • Want this played at my wedding :)

  • @MegaNat1987 I'll want this played here on youtube for my 20 cats when im a lonely old woman living in the woods. *meow*

  • beautiful song, beautiful film. if only love was like this! x

  • @missgreeneyes1981 love can be anything you want it to be

  • I love this.....

  • Great cover.

  • I LOVE Jewel but this just sucks. IMHO

  • @attempt198 your retarded

  • @wonkywaterpipe123 *you're

  • @wtfscrapie72 - This version of this song by Jewel is beautiful. That song you told everyone to look up makes me want to shoot you in the face. Just sayin'..... I swear the music industry is going down the toilet right in front of our eyes.

  • While this is a very nicely done cover,, you folks do realize that Jewel did not write this? John Hiatt wrote this tune some years ago..

  • Her voice just melts me. Love that beauty. Say Jewel. How was heaven when you left?

  • i love this song as well... take time to look up an angel by Declan galabreath, thats a wonderful song... im sure everyone will love it.... also his song, im all out of love...

  • John Hiatt's version will always be the best...

  • cant wait to hear her music after she experiances motherhood :)

    Congrats

  • Jewel and Ty congratulations on your new baby on the way, he or she is gonna be one lucky kid...

  • Have Faith in me my Friend..... I beside you.... I will not leave you..... Just let my love flow ...... Just give these loving arms a try.....

  • This Song break my Heart. And the Tears in my Eyes say all i feel .

  • Love this song and the movie it was in, "Phenomenon" with John Travolta and Kyra Sedgewick. Love it!

  • lovely

  • God, is she beautiful!

  • Very nice but have you heard the versions by Delbert McClinton or the songwriter John Hiatt? You get passion versus nice...

  • Very nice but have you heard the versions by Delbert MCClinto or the songwriter John Hiatt? You get passion versus nice...

  • Its a good vocal. This is one of those rainey day songs that demands "less is more". Jewels voice is capable of accomplishing more than the instruments can. She is so talented.

  • Easily the best rendition I have ever heard

  • Her talent lies in recognizing John Hiatt's songwriting talent, & covering it. ;)

  • When I first ...

    heard and saw you Jewel

...You said you were sleeping in a car...

    Look who now YOU became.

    You are a fighter.

    Fight on Girl!

    Fight on!

    Bernard

  • It's o.k.....though she doesn't come close to passion and soul John Hiatt puts into it.

  • @shamuswinston Jewel gives it soul

  • I Love This Version of all the singers. I listened to Joe Cocker Joh Bovi and some others. Jewel sings it the best

  • wow i like her version!

  • oh, no no no.

  • Oh my god, this is so bad. One of the great pop tunes, destroyed.

  • it's weird how they constantly play her music in EVERYTHING but not one video of hers has ever been shown in england, at least not to my knowledge lol such a shame.

  • Respond to this video... @ whoever wrote this 'trying to hard to look like britany spears' mate britany was about 11 when this was released no one had even heard of britany yet

  • I really love Jewel, but she just doesn't have the soul for this song.

John Hiatt's original is still the best. (^_^)

  • Words and music by John Hiatt. A nice version of a fabulous song.

  • @imagineaboringlife You're stupid.

  • @goldenrod2 For having an opinion?

  • @imagineaboringlife She is who she is. If those ar her pictures, then that's who she is and how she looks. Can't a girl look gorgeous now? It's all part of being alive and having fun. Besides her voice will still sound perferct with or without make up. If she's talented and a great singer, that won't change by wearing make up or by not wearing it. Less credible? She sounds amazing to me no matter how she looks.

  • @NocturneSoul I dissagree.

  • @NocturneSoul Lovely how it all comes together 'to me'

  • @imagineaboringlife UM BRITNEY SPEARS IN 1996 WAS LIKE 14 YEARS OLD IDIOT, EVER THINK BRITNEY SPEARS TRIED LOOKING LIKE JEWEL?

  • @mikkayo I'm generalizing all blonde bimbos. DONT YOU KNOW YOU CAN TURN CAPS OFF ?

  • @imagineaboringlife Maybe BSpears is trying to look like Jewel "blond bimbo" read Jewel's biography...blonde yes, bimbo ... (what does that word mean exactly?).

  • Yeah, if you ignore the pictures this is the best version female version i've heard so far, Mandy Moore just rapes that song...

  • seriously, I'm not a reckless teenager, not a manipulative succubus monster, never vengeful, not lost, and I don't bite off the heads of my mates after copulation.

  • @Ecdysiast96 Really? You should try that...

  • great interpretation 5/5

  • I love the Phenomenon soundtrack, i absolutely adore Jewel singing Have A Little Faith In Me

  • @MsLuciC Me too!

  • I like Jewel, but she does not do justice to this song. This is a very emotional song and she sounds like she absolutely sleepwalks her way through this. No power. No emotion. She tries to crank it up halfway through, but it's just lame, lame, lame. Sorry, Jewel.

  • Really love this song.

  • i prefer Jhon hiatt bt she gwan. bless to everyone and peace to ma fellow jamaicans.proud to be a jamaican

  • I like her, but she managed to suck the soul out of one of John Hiatt's greatest songs.

  • really i love this version, really make me so emotional, jewel you are the best i love her voice and songs,te amamos jewel

yo tengo fe en ti siempre :D

  • Jewel is one of the most beautiful women in the world, next to my wife that is.

  • we should all strive to have even a little faith if it's in yourself

  • LOVED YOU SENCE I FIRST HEARD TOU

  • Please check out the original by the songwriter - John Hiatt - far superior...

  • ~Beautiful~

  • heard this first time ever on the film 'my best friends girl' great song great film

  • Everytime I hear this I get chills that run all over my body... Great song!!

  • WOW! I love this version!

  • Dearest Brian....

While you're on your road to recovery, keep in mind I'm with you in spirit.

"....Come here Darlin' from a whisper start, have a little faith in me.

And when your back's against the wall, Just turn around, you will see. I will catch ya, I will catch your fall. I said I will hold you up, so have a little faith in me....."

Just call, I will be glad to fix you a plate, anytime. And just wondering...how do you feel about sponge baths from your private nurse? ;0))

  • Wow!!! Jewel rocks... quality of this song needs some improvement tho. She's so beautiful and gifted.

  • you know I think the quality of this would be so much better.. I am gonna find another one on youtube.. I think she sounds better than this

  • me too

  • i don't like this version

  • i love this version with her singing

  • i want much David....

  • ... have faith...

  • I would love to make love to John Travolta while this song was playing.I would love to make love to John Travolta anytime even if nothing was playing but this song would be a bonus.

  • No one can sing like Jewel. She did a great job!

  • I really love John Travolta and I loved him in Phenomenon. I would like to kiss John Travolta while this song was playing. but the song doesn't have to be playing. lol

  • one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Jewel, you're a jewel!

  • @ILoveWomensVoices bro I TOTALLY LOVE WOMENS VOICES!!

  • you would appreciate this song more if you have ever watched phenomenon. this song really touched my heart when I watched the film.

  • i was lookin for this song and i had to have the voice i heard in that movie. it touched me too.

  • No comparison to my "wedding version" by John Hyatt...Lori and I know the difference to our souls!!

    TheTbear111

  • love it! totally awesome, love jewel

  • Ugh. Was she tryung to channel Janis Joplin at the end?

  • Shes just being Jewel.

  • this is a piece of shit cover of hiatts song. it's smothered with cheesy and commercial like influences. Nothing compares to the raw, gospel influenced original.

  • Okay i listened to Mandy and Johns Version. Both Good. But ... Jewel Rocks this song.

  • Jewel's was a version. JOHN HIATT IS THE ONE WHO ROCKS THIS!!!! It was from his own soul and raw emotion!!!

Don't get me wrong........ I love Jewel and her music, especially from her first couple of albums......... and the girl sure can yodel.. But OWNS the song!

  • i luv how she sings "hav a little faith in me" @ 0:35

  • I love Jewel's version; John's is good, but her's is so much more tender, sweet, & wistful; her voice just makes you close your eyes & smile--plus at 3:21, you can't help but notice a little Janis Joplin slipping in. It's a beautiful song, no matter who sings it, but I've always loved Jewel. (not to mention the fact that this version will forever remind me of "Phenomenon," & always makes me cry. ha!)

  • i luv this song and both Mandy Moore and Jewel do good on this song. I love it!

  • Yes, she obviously has a much different take on the song than John Hiatt, but you can really enjoy both versions. Anyone, though, who prefers Mandy Moore must be deaf or just willfully ignorant.

  • Comment removed

  • I like Mandy Moore's version.

  • I prefer the John Hiatt version, but this is...okay...I guess

  • that makes two of us. his version has more HEART

  • I prefer John Haitt version

  • really...

  • I prefer this version more than the John Haitt version

  • I love this song...it brings back so much for me..makes me feel so warm and tingly

  • such a beautiful version of this song...she pours such emotion into her music

  • you can not be jewel she is way goos

  • has anyone ever seen phenomenon?? it's amazing!! btw, she does sing it different. listen to the original.

  • The Jewel's voice is like melting butter...so smooth and rich and its never 2 much....Amos (BS,MEd) N Camden SC 29020

  • Thanks for posting this song. I needed to hear this song at this time of my life.

  • Love this version, she sings it beautifully :)

  • I miss you (06/04)

  • When you cover a song it doesent mean you have to play it exactly the same.. In fact you can't play it exactly the same cause if you hear the different versions it will always be different. Although I don't like this version.. John Hiatt's version got more "power" in it...

  • Joe Cocker's version is by far the best.

  • I second this opinion. I actually made a version for a friend's wedding with Jewel singing the first verse and chorus, then cut to Joe. She makes a nice intro, he provides a more powerful ending. But if I had to pick one version - Cocker for sure! Hats off to Hiatt for a GREAT song.

  • Jewel can sing anything! I can't help but love her!

  • I feel Jewel and Mandy have the best versions of this song.

  • better than mandy moore's version...less shouting... jewel has a voice of an angel

  • I think the lesser known Bon Jovi version is the best I've heard. His voice fits the song perfectly. Jewel has a beautiful voice, but i don't think it's right for this song.

  • And no, I don't have anyone's arms to lay in at the end of the day and have been through hell and back in more ways I care to talk about, so yeah, I do have a clue and can understand why you would get carried away. I am truly sorry for the loss of your wife. That's something that no one should ever have to experience and of course I can understand your emotional attachment to it.

  • Also, I thought Jewel's version was terrible? Now it's pretty and well done? Which is it? Besides, who ever does an cover version of a song that sounds exactly like the original, especially if the some people's opinions the original can never be topped? On a lighter note, after reading your comments I listened to John Hiatt's version again and can see what you mean. So, consider my mind changed!

  • Hey, you opened the door wide open yourself for that one. Granted, the other gentleman's comment was not appropriate either, but you went into attack mode immediately and then proceeded to insult anyone who likes Jewel as stupid. So, no sympathy there! I just called you on it. My whole point was, everyone has a different opinion. I think rap music is the most horrible thing I've ever heard, but I don't call people who like it stupid.

  • I just listened to many different versions of this song, and none of them impressed me that much except this one, not even the apparently worshipped John Hiatt version. I think Jewel has a beautiful voice! But that's just my opinion. See, that's what one would call "personal taste". The only "fucking idiots" on this board are the ones like jacobwalters85. Wow, your intellect and name calling is SO impressive! Do you feel cooler now? Fucking idiot, indeed.

  • My wife and I loved this song, the John Hiatt version was our song. We danced to it at our wedding, and I even played it for her when I drove her to the hospital to have our son. Unfortunatley, she died during child birth. So, this was the last song she heard. If you listen to John's version, it's just a piano and his voice. He didn't want a bunch of instruments to clutter his message to the woman he loves. So, maybe I get a little carried away, but John' version helps me remember my wife.

  • So, call me an "fucking idiot" if you want, I'm sure you get to put all the negative comments you want about people, then at the end of the day lay in the arms of the person you love. That must be nice. You have no fucking clue. This song is supposed to be a cry out to John Hiatt's love of his life, not a pretty, well sung and played song. Sure, Jewel's version is pretty and well done, but this song wasn't written that way. This song is a heart-felt ballad with a one-person audience in mind.

  • my opinion- She is the only person that can sing this song to perfection. I love it

  • too bad she wasnt the first... John does a lot better job in my opinion...

  • this is horrible, horrid, she ruined this song. and i do like jewel. but geesh this version sucks.

  • Jesus Christ man, people like you are the reason the terrorists want to attack us.

  • Jewel is talented. Stop, you're embarrassing yourself, man.

  • I agree this version FUCKING SUCKS, but not all cover classic songs are shit. Youtube "Stairway to heaven" by rodrigo and gabriela and you'll see that it's better than Led Zep's original version.

  • Wow, that version is really good. I'm diggin the classical guiters. Check out Zakk Wylde's Stairway cover, it's amazing.

  • you're clueless. You don't know talent

  • noway

John Hiatt is so much beter !

  • I've never heard this before, I love her!

  • Ummm...ew. No, leave it to Mr. John Hiatt please!

  • wow.. THIS VERSION IS GOOD.. MANDY SING THIS SONG LIKE WOOD.

  • Love this version, she sings it beautifully :)

  • the pic at 3:19 looks like the girl/woman from chuck on nbc

  • I like Mandy's version

  • Love Jewel; she's been a great inspiration & motivator for me on my own musical journey; i learned to play guitar at 22 yrs old much thanks to the gorgeous soul & beauty of Jewel's music & songwriting; thanks so much for sharing this one!!

  • i just heard this song on the movie Phenomenon starring John Travolta during that kissing scene. I googled the lyrics and saw mandy moore and jewel. I said..i gotta hear Jewel sing this song, she's one of the best! and the lyrics were like right there. Thanks to whoever posted this!

  • lmao i just watched it on fx and is why i'm listening to it lmao

  • I love this song, make me feel something extrainge inside, and I think that all versions are really important because they contain diferent ways about to feel and that enrich us...

  • john hiats the best, he wrote this but other people get all the credit. johns written so many other songs for tons of artist that he dosnt put on his album. he's even writen songs for eric clapton and b.b.king. it just makes me feal bad that he dosnt get as much reccignition as he should for writing songs that chang so many diffrent peoples lives

  • mooi gebracht bij haar :)

Maarr John Hiatt legt er meer gevoel in vind ik persoonlijk :)

  • Sorry for this but I can't help to say she's really sexy.

Otherwise, I still prefer John Hiatt's version.

  • personally i think this is a disgrace to john hiatt. i didnt even make it 1/2 way through the song before i searched his version up...

  • i love both!! jewel's is sweet and calm, then mandy's is exciting!!! i ♥ both!!

    ♥abbie

  • uhh u seem to be under an illusion that there the only ones who sing this song...hears and update for u..JOHN HIATT WROTE THIS..and he's ten times better than mandy or jewl. its one thing to have a good voice but its on a whole diffrent thing to be able to write something amazing as this.

  • oh! i've never heard of john hiatt...sorry, i've only heard mandy's and jewel's version of this! didn't mean to exclude john!

    xoxo♥abbie

  • srry i just hate it when people dont give credit to the people who deservie it

    srry for spazing

  • haha don't worry about it!

    xoxo♥abbie

  • This is so moving it makes me realise how blessed I am that people put their trust and faith in me!

  • i like mandys a lot more

  • i think mandy moore's verion is more enthusiastic, and this one is just a bit more relaxing. both have their own great qualities

  • I love this song!
