Hi there. I just started learning the banjo this year and I've been watching your banjo videos and I must say that I like your style and the sound you get out of your banjo very, very much. I want to learn how to drop thumb like that, how can I find out? Would you be willing to share a tab of one of your arrangements for let's say.. blackberry blossom? =oD
get books and practice a lot! I would recommend ken perlman's books for beginners, I really like miles krassens clawhammer book, this version of shady grove is from bob carlin's clawhammer tapes
Thanks Pete! I don't know it is original version, but I find it is very different form the most common version and I also find it very Old Time style.
There are two tunes called Shady Grove, am I right in saying this is not the melody most commonly played by Banjo players, i.e. the Clarence Ashley/Doc Watson one?
Very nice version of an old traditionnal too bad that you don't sing along Great playing anyway you sound as good on banjo as with the mandolin that's great !

Beautifully done Davide. I love this version of the tune. It`s really archaic; could be the original version.
