  • cool tank, check my aquarium out

  • Your tank is really good to me because I like having alot of room for my fish to swim

  • u can put any fish in with any fish. it depends on a lot personalities. i had a betta with 1 red belly pirhana for 2 years when the betta died. (his tail got stuck in the heater vent) but they got along just fine

  • for every1 its different i have a male fighting fish (betta) in my 10gal community tank. the betta is like a red tailed shark its just doesnt like its own kind but try putting your betta in with your fish in your tank trust me stop being scared bettas are fine in fish tanks with other fishes ive had fish since i was 4 i know this.

  • Is that a red tailed shark? In a ten gallon? That's gonna be big. And a male betta? Do your fish fight at all?

  • is there a fighting fish or what ever you call them in there? I thought you cant put them with other fish?

  • NIce tank!

  • how much was it and were did u get it

  • how is it you have a male betta with other fish

  • @r1234x67p bettas can go with other fishes other people do that like if its a male then only have one male beta and you can have any other fish but if its a female beta you can have more than 1 but be sure to have 3

  • nice tank, nice fish. just hope that red tail is out when he's bigger

  • Needs more decorations.

  • are thoughs bloodfin tetras? have you had any problems with them nipping the betta? did you move your shark when it got bigger?

  • simple an nice

  • is it even possible to keep a red taled shark in a 10 allon tank?

  • @kmscutie132 i have a rainbow shark in a 20 gallon and he seems fine

  • is it even possible to keep a red taled shark in a 10 allon tank?

  • @kmscutie132 at petco/petsmart they say 10 gal minimum and the shark will be about 4 to 6 inches full grown but they shouldnt be with bettas so I have heard and read, cause the sharks can be agressive and territorial as with the betta but some times you can get lucky

  • That betta is stressed. He is clearly fleeing the other fish, and his dorsal fin is clamped. It is hard to tell since his fin is clamped but he looks to be missing part of that fin as well. I suspect he is being nipped. Please consider removing him to his own tank (2.5 gallons make great solitary betta homes). Thanks.

  • I love the betta! and the cory cats are cute!

  • The Betta doesn't appear to give a shit about the other fish. You got luck with that one as their temperaments vary.

  • nice tank

  • Red tailed shark in a 10 gallon? Is that a good idea?

  • Comment removed

  • @FeelThePunkBlast yes it is i had my rainbow shark in a 10 gallon and it lived for 5 years and now i have brought a nother one and put him in my 20 gallon

  • that betta fish looks like a mix of a crown tail and vieltail

  • I like it because it is simple and not overly done. Very elegant.

  • that betta is ganna kill the other fish

  • i like the plants dude

  • how does a heater work? does it show a red dot or something?

  • @sebastianproductions shoes red dot when its heating

  • your betta is cuter and more beautiful than my crowntail.i still make my betta (his name is roice)yhe "King of Crowntail Betta's!".good tank though.

  • need to add more stuff in the tank, like a more places to hide!

  • i like yer betta he looks awesome

  • how big did the shark get?

  • i thought the betta would be fighting but i guess not....

    pretty

  • wow beautiful tank! it looks awesome.

  • it's a nice tank

  • you probly should upgrade to a 50 gallon

  • ?cvfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

  • how many guppies can i fit in a ten gallon

  • @MegaTylou

Maybe 8 or 10. It depends on if you have a good filter and how many water changes you will do. If you only change some of the water once a week, get less fish.

  • what about raimbow sharks?

  • are those real plant?

  • @TheSmoketricks The male bettas are only aggressive with other male bettas or fish with long flowing fins.

  • Your tank is too small for that red tail shark. it will grow to about 6 inches at least. Also cories should be kept in groups of 6 or more as they like to shoal. I'd get a bigger tank if possible. At least a 30gal.

  • @cpw318 Redtails also get more territorial as they get bigger.

  • @cpw318 a red tail shark only gets about 4 3/4 inches and should be in a tank 10g or bigger, plus the shark is young and will grow to it's tank size. so it's okay to have a red tailed shark in a 10g tank!

  • @bamaphanatic uummm... you are wrong the shark WOULD grow bigger if in a bigger tank, but since he is in a 10 gallon he will die before reaching his full size.

  • I have a 20 gallon tank with a albino cory and what I think is a peppered cory. the peppered cory never really moved much but the albino cory seemed fine now they both hide in the cave. Why are they hiding and what could I do to fix it. Could they be lonely?

  • being lonely is a possibility..as i have heard corys do well in groups..

  • @nosyiam corys are lazy and maybe their intimidated or something

  • whats that plant that is sticking up on the right?

  • that's my heater

  • Oh no. :( You really don't have room for the shark. You need to upgrade if you want to keep it alive.

  • @spiderjelly actually no, 10 gals is pretty much the minimum requirement for a red tailed black shark

  • @f0x9 xxpascuaxx meant the plant in front of the heater

  • @f0x9 hahaha lol ;)

  • @f0x9 how is the shark doing did he eat any of the others or stuff

  • In my opinion ideal set up for 10 gallon tank is 7 guppie and about 5 caridina japonica

  • looks awesome

  • NICE TANK! Hello everyone I have a 10 gallon tank and it has a powerfilter and heater It has been cycling for 1 month (31 days) I have thought of fish to put in but im still not sure. What fish should i get? Any suggestiones would be greatly apreciated.

  • @YoutwixMe you could get... a dwarf gourami... perosnally i love them.(:

    and some guppies... idk.... lol.

  • thanks! I might just do that!

  • @YoutwixMe you can get fancy guppies or betas i had one for a year and a quarter and it died yesterday....:(

  • It all really depends on what you want. As long as you abide to the 1 inch of fish per gallon rule it should be nice tank.Good Luck!

  • is the redtail aggressive ?

  • fuck yeah. well most of them are. Mine seems to be nice but hes still only a juvenile so we will see

  • Are u using a heater for ur tank?... I also have a 10 gallon tank and I'm planning to put tropical fish in it, but does it NEED a heater to survive?

  • definetly, u need a heater or else the fish will be prone to more diease and die

  • @desiboy4life

did you really ask if TROPICAL fish need heat? when you think of the word tropical doesnt heat come to mind?! most tropical fish like temp. between 72 and 82

  • Most likely not...

  • @desiboy4life yes

  • @desiboy4life yes it does all tropical fish do. you can get one at your local petshop they are easy to install and cost around $15.00 for a 10 gallon tank.

  • get the red tail OUT. it get way to big for that tank (around 6 inches) get at least a 30 gallon for him

  • People get really annoying on here... it will be very obivious when your red tail shark is too big for your tank. He will be fine in there for a while because they don't grow THAT fast. But if you do plan on keeping him to adulthood you want to get a larger tank.

  • isn't it a betta though...

  • i have a ten gallon tank and i just want to put a couple of flary fish or some that look cool like a red tailed shark or something . what could i put in my ten gallon that could live there for their whole live because i dont want to move them to a different tank and i was wondering what fish could i put in my 10gallon and what size tank does a black ghost knife fish need? thanks (: its fresh water btw(:

  • dwarf puffers are good u could fit 2 of em in there for ever but they are aggresive and some chicleds guppys, tetras, ect

  • wolnt the beta kill the other fish?

  • wow so you have 7 fish in there?

I have 5 and I feel it looks a bit overcrowded

  • u can have 10 fish in a 10 gallon tank

  • hmmm, the rule says and inch of fish per gallon...not a fish per gallon...but If you clean the tank every other day it should be ok.

  • ha yeah i got it mixed up i say that cuz i have smaller fish in my tank

  • Me too but keep in mind that they'll grow up, and then the tank will be overcrowded.

I heard of a guys who got an Oscar and put it in a 10Gal tank..withing 6 moths the damn fish didn't have space to swim!!! LMFAO

  • well if he has like neons or something that might be okay to have 10

  • no. it depends what fish. and that inch per gallon is bullshit.

  • more like you can have ten 1 inch fish in a ten gallon tank

  • not exactly but yes.

  • Do you still have this tank with the betta and the red tail in it? How did they get along was the tank ok for them?

  • i love the red beta fish

  • Shark needs a new home.....too many fish.

  • great tank

  • that betta looks identical to mine :P

  • whats better a red tail shark or a rainbow shark?

  • either just dont put them in together

  • i have betta whit 10 gallon but what fish i cant put whit betta and betta dont fight whit it !!

  • dont put betta fish with anything with large flamboyant fins or ones that are very colorful, they will kill them instantaniously

  • I think those are actually GLASS BLOODFIN TETRAS not BLOODFINS

  • you know i have a 15 gallon with; a 3 inch pleco, 2 zebra danios, a rosy barb, a tiger barb, and an angel fish will upload video soon

  • I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have a betta in there. I might be thinking of two bettas in one tank but I'm not sure if theres only one. They are pretty aggressive.

  • i have a 10 gallon as well. i was wondering if i could add a red tailed shark in with my 2 red-eyed tetras, and my 2 serpae tetras. please comment on this board THANKS!!

  • normally, they do, but if you want a certain fish to have a certain food that the others can't have, u might want to consider a condo

  • since u have different kinds of fish do u give them the same food

  • you have a nice tank, but tetras and cory cats do best in groups of atleast 6

  • nah 3 is still ok for tetras 6 is more ideal but the bigger the group the nicer they look, this guys got the right idea but dont overstock so its nice the way it is

  • hey how did you introduce the fish. I have a betta and a 10 gallon and wanna make a community tank. did the betta ever get attacked?

  • I have an Albino Red Tailed Shark. Great Tank, Although I wouldn't have put the betta and the Fire Tail (red tail) Together.

But it seems like it turned out alright!

  • Be careful with the tetras and shark. They might nip at the Betta.

  • cooL....i got a betta fish, or fighting fish...i mix it with my other fish, and other fish got killed....lol now i know why its called fighting fish, for real this happened to me....

  • you gotta get some rocks for that shark to chill in, it super awesome to build caves and watch him swim through them and it will make him happy

  • nice crowntail betta!

  • RED TAIL SHARK!!!

  • Do not worry. Red-Tail Sharks and other freshwater sharks are not vicious like mini great whites or something. They are actually like large algea eaters, their favorite food being hair algea that grows in the aquarium.

  • TO ALL EXPERIENCED FISH OWNERS:

Hi, I have a question for you guys. I have just recently acquired 3 gold fish from my biology lab, and a betta from a friend. I have the Betta in his own 1 gallon bowl, which after much research I realize is way too small. I have also been keeping the girls (my 3 goldfish) in a 1.5 gallon tank, which is, once again, way too small.

I want to get some bigger tanks and a heater for my betta, What would you recommend, considering I live in a college dorm room?

  • Also- they all seem quite active and healthy, and have been doing well in their tank/ bowl for 2 months now.

Would a 5 gal be ok for the goldfish and a 3 gal for the betta?

I selfishly want to keep them at college with me, (and I would like to save money) but I will get a 10 gal for the girls if I have to and keep them at home...

  • well depands wat gold fish u got i mean type and how big they are cuz some gold fish get hugh and need atleast a 20 gallon if u going to keep em tell they die and they dont need a heater cuz they cold water fish, the betta can live in any thing that has enogh room for him to swim for fun and stuff i say 10 gallon for golds and 1-3 gallon for betta

  • I think A 5 gallon is fine for the bettas but bettas and a goldfish, Hmmm.... I would go with a 5 gallon for them but have a plant for the goldfish.

  • get a five gallon fish tank well 5-10 galloons but get rid of the goldfish if ur mixn them with the betta they are the worstfish to have, go with like sword tails, mollies, platies, and well some that will eat algae like red tail shark or algae eater

  • thats lovely. that looks bigger than a 10 gallon, its looks about 15 gallons :)

lovely layout and good clan of fish

  • What filter is that?

  • So I'm sorry for my negativity earlier.

  • That's gorgeous. Love the siplicity, and betas are great.

  • nice aqaurium your fish look healthy and active. Lemme know how it goes because I just got a 10 gallon yesterday and i'm going to buy fish soon.

  • lol I have the same plastic plant on the right

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know who you're asking but I have a 10-gal freshwater and I do about 30% change once a week

  • 20-30% once a week

  • that betta is pretty the vibrant red makes it interesting .... stands out against the other colors in your tank

  • boring

  • That's a very nice tank! But the red-tailed shark is out of place. It belongs in a bigger tank with more aggressive fish.

  • well if it doesn't bother the community fish then, it can stay in

  • for now, but really.

    should be moved anytime possible.

Tiger barbs work with them, im pretty sure.

  • I have platies, guppy, neons, babs, 3 corys...I would love to get a male betta. Do you think he may fight with my other fishes. PS I have a GBR too.

  • you know your red tail shark will outgrow tthta tank actually it wont stay healthy and it will die

  • your betta looks just like mine!

  • the n red tailed black shark should be in a much bigger tank.

  • Very nice man..is that dark one a pictus catfish?? I was thinking about getting one with my figure 8..?

  • I thought male bettas will fight with other fishes? can you explain that to me please? Can you tell me a good and cute, small fish that I could use in my tank to clean it? Thanks.

  • a pictus cat or a cory cat would be good.

pictus cats are shiny white and have long flowing whiskers.

  • if you want a fish that can clean your tank and is cute try a clown loach or any bottomfeeder catfish or a chinese algaae eater

  • He said he had the corydora species...

  • dude a clown loach? no freaking way, those get at least a foot long, and are shoalers. NEVER get them, unless you have the suited tank for it.

  • my friend got one andd asked how big it will grow to the fish person he said 4 inches

  • wow, thats just fail.

LOL. :/ remember though, research your fish before a buy.

  • it will only fight with other bettas. never keep it in a community tank. the other fish will nibble on its fins

  • hey i like your fish tank^^ can someone help me i have a 10 gallon tank with 5 neon tetras what kind of fish should i mix with them or should i add more fish >? like more neons ?

  • get 5 rasboras. they are the same size as neons and are very active like neons, but are different colors and shapes!

  • thanks 4 the advice (: i really thank you but sadly all my neon tetras died of ick -_- it mad me sad now i have 3 honey gourami

  • idk if you still have this tank, but it needs more hiding spots. the betta would appreciate it.

  • your tank is really pretty

  • i have the same grass plant on the right in my 10 gallon.

in my tank i have a black skirt tetra, a buenos aires tetra, and a honey gourami along with a ghost shrimp. very cool.

i have big rock substrate and i want to get white gravel substrate very cool

  • all fish will attempt to reproduce in ideal conditions and moving waters is not ideal conditions for bettas. end of story.

the water movement isn't enough to kill the betta but it will significantly shorten his lifespan. Bettas can live 8-10 years if cared for properly.

BTW: the betta produces the bubble nest... THEN the female comes and they spawn under the nest... then the female leaves again. Read up chum. Don't make up facts.

  • oh ya and ur betta is not happy in that set-up! he wants to be alone in still water so he can bubble nest!

  • without a female, there's no need to make a bubble nest, so it wouldn't matter if he's alone or in a tank like this

  • those rocks look like something u'd find in a salwater tank. can't u find something more natural in ur back yard?

if not some neighbor's front yard ;)

  • Redtails can grow up to 8 inches, meanwhile add a cave and more plants and your redtail will be happy. Save up now for a new tank as you'll find your redtail will quickly outgrow the tank and be very territorial.

  • hey im working on my 10 gallon tank and want to put some live plants in. i dont have co2 supply, any suggestions?

  • hahah nice u gotta beta in that shit?

  • cute tank :)

  • ur betta dosent fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they normally only fight with their own species not with others but they are kinda aggresive but not alot

  • indeed, and even if they did fight other fish, it would be because they would mistake a colorful fish for another betta

  • Hey, im planning on getting a ten gallon aquarium today with everything including lots of plants and hiding places and iv done all my research but i am still unsure if i should put my male crowntailed betta who is usuallly friendly but flares up sometimes with 1 Red tailed black shark, there will be enough room for i am only getting 3 or 4 small fish besides the red tail. so do you think they will fight or not?

dont worry i will upgrade my tank size later

  • that seems like a little too much. the red tail should never be in a 10. i would say go for a small school of any small kind of tetra, tiger barbs, or other small fish that dont get any bigger than 2.5 - 3 inches.

  • Ok, well i dident get a 10 i got 5!

It has a couple guppys, a red tailed shark, a black skirt tetra, and a pleco.

I know it sounds packed but really its not because i got a baby Pleco and Shark. although i am expecting to get a 20 gallon tank for the pleco and shark by christmas because they will be getting big by then. but for now there fine.

  • newbie aquarium, you're torturing ur fishes :D

  • the red tailblack shark isnt full grow wehad to move your from a 10 gallon 2 our other tank and thats 150gallon

  • how are the betta an red tailed shark now

    ???

  • has the red tailed killed anything?

  • hey umm how much do you feed these fish a day and what you feed them??
