  • This is easily one of the best train videos ever. You did a good job with it.

  • I think that SD-9043MAC can out pull that Gevo, in terms of power and tractive effort, if I'm not mistaken a GEVO has 4400 HP, and around 180,000 lbs ft tractive effort, but its 4400 hp starts to decrease at higher speeds, that 9043MAC pumps out 4300 HP, but in reality that can reach up to 4500 HP, in the right conditions, and it doesn't drop off like the GEVO.

  • you know for its size the 90MAC's moved pretty well when they worked

  • It's REALLY SWEET the way those GEVO's sound like Star Wars "Tie Fighters" !!!

  • NICE Cam work!!! Makes a Vid REALLY fun to watch!!

  • wouldn,t it be great for alco/mlw to make a comeback with some new stuff ///i wish.

  • sell the mac90s to cp they,ll buy them.

  • @anteater8171 Not likely, CP won't but anymore EMD locomotives for quite some time n the reason y is because of the SD9MAC-H locomotives they bought from EMD. They always broke down n cost them plenty of money so i know they will not buy them if anything they will probably get some SD40-2's or GP38-2's.

  • thats not a sd90 its a sd70

  • EMD locomotives sound powerful. imagine the SD90 with a 24V710 engine though...

  • ok who wins this tug of war: AC6000 vs SD90?

  • was it 6000cw on the rear?

  • @zobayer1: No, just your typical GEVO (C45AC) DPU.

  • It's interesting how EMD seems to come out with the bigger locomotives and seem to be more powerful too. Or is that just an illusion?

  • @MrZkr123 its true

  • NICE ONE on the power of SD90MAC

  • that SD90 sounds sick!!! nice video!

  • Looks like he's doing about 40. I wouldn't exactly consider that a Highball. Love the vid tho. I'd previously never heard of the SD90's at all. Anyone know why they're supposedly getting rid of them?

  • @KSE828: SD90MAC's four-stroke 265H prime movers were unreliable. On the other hand, almost all of the SD90/43MAC's which use two-stroke 710G prime movers, including the one in the video are still in service.

  • How do I know if stack trains like this exist up here in Wisconsin??

  • @gillart

hey idk how far up you live in wisconsin, but I live in rockford, IL bout 10 miles from the border and about 45 minutes south of here is a town called Rochelle, IL.Here the UP and BNSF cross each other and the place averages about 120 trains a day i think. if you wanna see some good stacks and coal drags, this place is your best bet. It's the Rochelle Railroad Park i believe. check it out sometime, you won't be disappointed. Just don't go when maintenance is being done, like i did. lol

  • Nice video!!

  • Love thos lomotives!

  • awesome video

  • That train was going fast.

  • This is qaulity, 5*.

  • Nice Video. Man talk about highball.

  • SD90/43!!!! My favorite!!!!

  • very nice , thanks for sharing

  • Hey great camera work! Really enjoyed this clip. Thanks for chasing this one, I read somewhere that UP's '90MACs are headed for the scrapper.

  • The 6000hp SD90's are in the process of being scrapped, at least that's what I heard. None of the 8900 series locomotives are in operation that I know of.

  • Why? What's wrong with them?

  • Verry Nice video 5*****!!

  • There some SD9043s in Indiana on the Indiana Railroad

  • I've seen photos. Nice paint scheme.

  • That's awesome how you got the train's horn as it passed by you! It really did look like the train was speeding! 5***** video!

  • nice video¡¡ very good 5* and favorit

  • best. sound. EVER!

  • Well done, mate (=

  • I Hope They Didn't Had A Dragging Equitmeant that's under there Defect Detector.......

  • Nice SD9043MAC on the point and GEVO on the rear!

  • great catch as usual.

  • Terrific video, awesome locations all, 5*

  • OUTSTANDING video! Nice job!

  • Was it remote control DPU, or was someone in ti, i dont wanna see anymore people lose work because of technology. They already have remote control yard switchers haha.

  • The DPU is remote controlled, but it's a little different from the RCL switchers. One way to describe DPU is radio-MU. In order for jobs to come back, railroads can bring back the caboose!

  • Perfect video production, and great engine sounds!

  • Awesome production, as usual...More please 5*

  • Great catches and fantastic work!

  • Killer audio of the 90/43.

  • I LOVE the sound of the '90 shooting out of the tunnel!!

  • Awesome I'm going to try to get up FRC before they switch. Great videos!
