  • What kind of bait did you use? Do you ever crab on the Gunpowder River?

  • This is like porn for crabbers. It's January, so I have 5 months until this season opens up again. I come back to this video a lot to tease myself until then.

  • I must say I am learning a great deal from these videos, because I plan on using a trot line this year for the first time. Question I have when using a trot line. Merlin is 1200 feet hottie rebated on the water or do you just when you out abate you just stop using

and some a trot lines are as high as $300 I'm making my own what are some ideas use the floats all bullies

    thank you for this video

  • Throck - You aren't allowed to give away more than you are allowed to keep. With 1 license, you have to throw back anything over 1 bushel, not give them away. Looks like you had a pretty good day though!

  • Thanks for the comments, the motor is at full idle so the only way to go slower is to drag a sea anchor which may be worth a try. We always dump sooks (females) and agree that's the way to preserve the population. We only crab for recreation (and good eating) once a week but it seems like the commercial guys get bent out of shape pretty easily if you do anything more productive then traps. Regards for good crabbing and safe boating.

  • Clearly you were successful, but that boat is going about twice as fast as we used to go. My buddy, best friend in the world, would go ballistic if I let even one crab drop without netting it (legal size of course) and we were always off the water before it was that light. Great video, but I am stunned at how fast y'all ran that line.

  • I don't know who told you one bushel per boat but they are wrong. 2 license 2 bushel per boat max. Its only one bushel if the boat is licensed or one person is licensed. If 2 persons are licensed it is perfectly legal to keep 2 bushels. I suggest you go to the DNR website for the facts. Damn commercials..learn the laws

  • Good video but you shouldn't have give the extra crabs away you should have tossed them back so they live another day and breed more. I seen 3 nice size crabs covered the whole bottom of the net. Great catch!... when I go I always throw the females back its almost like a respect thing... I know they taste better an have more mustard but crabs are crabs

  • @ShadowHawk05

I always throw them back to, it saves the future of crabbing

  • @dancenelly yeah i was born and raised in baltimore so thats one thing we must keep is the maryland crabs so i would love future gene. to be able to do the same

  • @dancenelly In MD its illegal to keep females unless your commercial.

  • @ShadowHawk05 giving away the extra's won't increase the population. Females are very scarce in the the bush river. They are more south. Also keeping females is illegal unless your commercial, I believe they are limited though.

  • @Schwarz2448 i never said give them away i said instead of giving them away toss them back... but who would catch people taking females anyway which is why i said out of respect i toss them back.

  • Wow, you've got it down pat! good job!

  • a 4 foot length of 1 inch chain at both ends.

  • How heavy was the 2 chains you were using?

  • Do you have a commercial lisence or a recerational lisence?

  • Half bushel over on the boat is still illegal no matter if you gave them away or not. Damn recs learn the laws!

  • @BigNaturalCrabinc We gave them away as we exceeded one bushel. Never had more than a bushel on board.

  • @BigNaturalCrabinc Can you explain this please
