  • I just got the G&G m14 and it's great, however I would like too upgrade the spring and need too know how i should choose which spring too get for my gun. Thanks for the help.

  • @Deebunie Choose a spring based on how fast you want your FPS to be. AirsoftGI lists the approximate speed in the description of the springs they sell. I recommend getting a Guarder brand.

  • @mwjscn oh thanks.

  • That was a good video that was to the point. I had a few questions though. Does it hurt your friends? Would you recommend spending extra for the walnut stock? Is the gearbox easy to get to and tinker with? And finally, I saw your name has Massachusetts in it and wanted to know if any good fields exist near Boston. Great vid. Any answer is appreciated. Sorry if you felt like I was interrogating you.

  • @rorytobory I don't know why everyone asks if it hurts, honestly when your adrenaline is up and you are running around in full gear you hardly feel an airsoft gun shot. However, if you where to go and line up your friends without adrenaline, it would sting. I prefer the walnut stock, one of the best options. The gearbox is not the easiest to get to, easy steps, just takes a while. Not many near Boston, try Ghost Town or The Citadel. Thanks for the positive comment, I am glad you enjoyed it!

  • Ive been considering the G&G m14 for a while now but ive always been a pure spring sniper kind of guy(I hate the unreliability of AEG's). Ive been looking for a DMR and with the upgraded spring I think that this gun could be a great gun! What do you think the build quality of the gearbox is?

  • @SLUGGER46 It is the best gearbox I have ever seen or owned. It is really superiorly reinforced and I am not even close to the potential with an M120 in it. It can handle all the way up to an M150 with the current gearbox structure. Just looking at TMs Version 7 compared to G&Gs Version 7 Gearbox makes me grin. Personally, I like the rifle and it has a build quality you would expect from G&G.

  • @mwjscn Thanks for the quick response! This video has really impressed me with the accuracy and power. Finally someone actually puts up a video of a good distance. no more of those 50ft test. GREAT JOB!

  • @SLUGGER46 Thanks! I also agree that test shooting a replica at spitting-distance is not effectively demonstrating anything. It's alllll about the acreage, haha!

  • thanks for the help

  • @Silencer8787 Your welcome!

  • thanks a ton!

  • @crazywhiteboy1714 Your welcome :D

  • what was the fps using .2 ? I am asking because dont most fields (outdoor) chrono using .2 and only except 400 fps ? im wondering if it shoots too hard upgrade ?

im havent played in over 5 years and im looking at getting one of these G&G m-14s because i love the look and i want to be able to hit people from a good range. any other personal notes you can give me about this gun would be greatly appreciated.

  • @crazywhiteboy1714 I think the FPS with .2s is around the 420 range, maybe a few numbers lower. I only know the practices of my field, and they strictly measure every gun's FPS before the game with .25g BBs that are handed out to each player to avoid cheating. Keep in mind, this is not the original shooting review of the gun, so go back and look at the original firing report to see the stock performance. The gun used to fire around 335 with a .20g stock, now it fires around 390-395ish with a .25

  • So you haven't upgraded to a 6.01 yet then. I wonder what kind of range and accuracy you would get with one of those...

  • @TwistedPersona I will never upgrade to a 6.01 because it is unnecessary. I find that the 6.035 for what I expect out of the rifle is great.

  • Did you get the tight bore barrel for this, and if so, what diameter?

  • @TwistedPersona All G&G replicas, with exceptions to some of the sportlines, come stock with a 6.035mm tightbore barrel.

  • where did you buy it? and what would you think the fps would be?

  • @MrCmac32 AirsoftGI has the entire Fourteen lineup. Watch the original G&G M14 Firing Report on my channel to see the performance before this upgrade.

  • @mwjscn so the whole gun is stock the only upgrade is the spring right ? if so tell me how thats going "considering where in 2011"

  • @luisairguner Yep, and it is still going strong!

  • Wouldnt the spring create alot of tension on the gears and other parts of the gun?

  • @AirsoftKC It creates more tension than usual, but considering the Gearbox is rated to handle a M150 spring with stock *everything* by G&G, then an M120 should be a walk in the park.

  • What scope would you recommend for the G&G M14 with M120 Sping?

  • @willsimz You can pick any one that you like! I personally like a variable zoom model with nice adjustment turrets. However, a 4x with an aperture >/= 32mm would probably work well. You can find tons of scopes at opticsplanet [dot] com. That is where I get my scopes.

  • So im getting this gun for christmas. Is it realy worth getting the wood?

  • @SuperGrandisle It all depends on your personal beliefs. One of my friends despises wood and would rather have a black gun just for the color, but I personally like the wood and think it is a valuable option! The majority of the finish on the wood is great and smooth and it is good quality wood. The non-wood versions are comparable in weight.

  • Great vid.

Definitely influential in my mental debate between this and the KWA M16A3.

  • That was a very well done video man, good to know what my G&G is capeable of if I dropped in a heavier spring. Thanks for the informative vid.

  • hey so i was just gonnna get the 255 dollar, black m14, soo i need good range and accuacacy, i love your videos so this is why i'm asking you. should i get the sp 120 or an m130? of course i would shoot .25's both times. i'm just wondering if the gears/ and others can handle this spring... ideas?

  • @phelannator I can only pass on what G&G told me, which is that the gearbox can handle an M150 stock. Is this true? I don't know I have never tested it.

I picked an M120 because my FPS needed to fit within my fields limits. If you want or need a little more bang, drop in an M130 *just be aware that this is what they use in the M14 Veteran version, so if you don't want to install it yourself, just buy it with it in the gun stock*. The mechanics of the gun can handle either, have fun.

  • I like the performance a lot man. Definitely a good video. I myself have an AGM M-14 and have upgraded to the same spring but haven't yet fired with the .25g's. I've also invested some more and have a tightbore barrel and systema infinite torque up motor with a 9.6v. I will have to get a video up for you then so I can join the club of great M14's!

  • That's friggin' awesome!

  • What type of battery does it use?

  • @JoshayDude Did you watch the review video?

I use an Intellect brand 9.6v 3600 mAh brick type Large battery.

  • @mwjscn I watched both. I was just to lazy to go back and find out what you said again =P.

Thanks man, and you got some of the best reviews out there =)

  • @JoshayDude Haha okay.

    Thanks for the compliment.

If you every have any more questions feel free to leave a comment or send me a PM.

  • Would you recommend the G&G M14 Veteran? My birthday is coming up and I am serious about a nice walnut stock M14. Is the Veteran worth the extra 50 bucks?

  • @94snowcat The veteran is nice, but I am not sure on whether it comes with the wood stock. I think the older ones had the wooden stock. The one I own has the wooden stock, called the WWS, but it comes with the regular stock spring. The Veteran comes with an M130 stock (I currently have an M120 in mine), so keep that in mind if you plan to play at fields and observe a maximum FPS limit. All versions of the G&G M-14 are nice and have rock solid gearboxes, so you cannot really go wrong.

  • @mwjscn I believe the veteran is just an upgraded WWS m14, so it should be worth it.

  • @Jmonay219 If you buy the WWS Veteran, for some reason some were made in wood and others the fake plastic (but darker weird huh?) I think the earlier versions were wood and the later ones have been plastic, at one point they even stopped production, so I am not 100%"'where they are at" at this point. To keep within my field limits I got my WWS and upgraded it with an M120, because the M130 in the Veteran would of been too much.

  • thanks im definatly getting one of these for mine.

  • do u need to upgrade anything else in the gun besides the spring

  • @AirsoftInfantry No. It's rock solid and can take up to a M150 stock, or so G&G saids.

  • what is the accuracy and fps with a .28g bb and how is the gun holding up with the m120, how long has the m120 been in your gun?

  • @sand0609 I don't know, I never chronoe'd it... but probably around 360-375 with Hop, excellent, probably about 9 months.

  • would you mind telling me if the internals on that gun are the same as the G&G m14 plastic stock. and what kind of spring is in that stock?

  • @AirsoftInfantry There is no need to post the comment literally seven times.

All of the versions, with the exception of the Veteran, have the same internals. The stock spring goes about 330-335 so I would assume it is in the M100 range. I personally like it with the M120 in it. :P

  • Would my gun require any upgraded gears to use the m120 spring with this gun? so in other words could i just buy a m120 spring and just put it into my gun and expect it to work for a while without breaking

  • @StabbyFork As stated in the video; yes. You don't need anything else except for the spring.

  • Does the walnut stock have a small hole underneath the stock that you can put a bipod with a swivel mount? I know this in on the plastic stock but is it on the wood one?

  • @StarfireYB22 Yes, there is a hole for the swivel stud-type mount.

  • about how fast would you say the gun shoots with .20 gram bbs

  • @Ananulak8 (God I hate this new comment system)

Umm I would assume it goes around 420-430. Might even go faster with the hop-up fully off, but that doesn't matter since you will always play with the hop-up on.

Also, you don't need to cutter your responses. You posted 4 of the same question, I have to approve my comments before they are accepted.

  • @mwjscn sorry, it kept on saying the comment didn't send. Thanks for the info

  • @Ananulak8 Your welcome.

  • hows your gun still holding up? any problems yet?

I soo do want to get this gun and Almost bought it because of your reviews.

  • It is still fine, I just used it two days ago and it was shooting 400 with a .25g BB with some hop-up on and still hitting relatively well considering the breeze that day.

  • Very nice & very complete! I'm just getting into airsoft (at age 53!) and I'm looking for an accurate, well built M14 ... my local web site said the G&G's were crap ... from your review, sounds like to newer versions are the best vaule for your money!

  • Yes. From what I heard the Version 1 and 2s had some issues that have now been resolved by now. I am happy to report that it is reliable and upgradeable. If you have any questions regarding the replica feel free to ask!

  • You sure know your stuff. in these kind of videos, the reviewer usually leaves out some important information (i.e. battery, bb weight, etc..) very nice work

  • Thank You.

  • Well, past the stock the takedown gets a little more on the challenging end of the spectrum. For good (usually warrantied) results I would take it to a shop. While they put in the new spring, I would suggest you have them re-shim it when they open it. I do think it is better than clones, it uses more quality internals. The biggest difference is the beast of a mechbox shell the gun has that is rivaled by no other company. If you need any more elaboration just reply.

  • Do you think a CYMA m14 shooting 350fps with .25g bbs would be a good substitute for this gun, because frankly 350$ is a lot of money for us minors and I'd prefer to pay under 200$ for a gun plus mags and ammo.

  • I doubt the CYMA actually shoots that fast.... you could just get the ABS Stock version of the G&G for $250. I would buy a G&G and have it last than buy a clone. Your choice, the G&G comes with lots of pros like the hefty V7 gearbox (which is pretty much what matters in the gun) and the stock tightbore barrel.

  • HI , great review I just got my m14 today and this has defendntly inspired me to get a spring im a little intimidated by the prospect of taking it apart tho, how ever the reward seems greater then the risk

youre first review was the last nail in the coffin that prompted my purchase of the m14 this rly re assures my decision was a good 1 :D

  • I really enjoy getting feedback like this, and I thank you very much. Yes, the M14 is a little bit of a beast when taking it apart. If you feel intimidated, I would take it to a shop or local airsmith. If possible, you should ask if you can sit-in and watch so then you can learn how to take it apart proficiently. There are some good disassembly guides online as well; getting to the gearbox and inside the gearbox itself.

  • did you have to upgrade anything else for the gearbox to be able to handle the m120 spring?

  • No. It can technically handle an M150 Equivalent Spring in Stock Form.

  • wow! ok thanks a lot

  • Im wondering how hard it is to change the spring. Would I be able to do it myself or have to send it in?

  • It is pretty hard to get to the gearbox itself, as you have to take most of the receiver apart. There, however, are plenty of step-by-step photo-based instructions on how to do it around the Internet. The gearbox itself is like any other gearbox really. If you feel you have the skill and are comfortable with doing it, go ahead. You might be able to hire an airsmith and sit in with him while he does it.

  • epic music lol and very informative

  • I'm glad you thought so.

  • does this gun have a metal spring guide

  • I already answered your question on the other video. Posting the same questions on my multiple videos will not result in me answering them faster.

  • I think I know what I'm getting as my next gun it seems perfect for what I wana use it for.

  • did you upgrade anything else in the gear box other then the spring?

  • Nope.

  • cool

  • gg makes such good guns you dont need to the only thing i would eventually is the motor that is if im not getting a m130+ spring

  • Motor is fine, has a lot of torque to it. It doesn't get alarmingly hot either, same heat it puts out with the stock spring. The only thing you get is a decrease in ROF. IF you changed the wiring to a heavier wire though, you might have an issue with the motor.

  • Where did you get this gun?

  • I ended up getting it from Evike since Airsoft GI was out of stock for more than a month. Took the opportunity at Christmas time to get a huge discount on it.

  • Very good review GG!!

  • Thank you.

  • Is this a very reliable gun ? because i was thinking about getting this instead of the socom 16. If you have had any problems please let me know. In the past i found myself doing numbers of repairs on my friends AGM M14 because it was very loosely built and put together poorly. I just need to know if this is built really well please answer.

  • Yes, I believe that out of most M-14s this is fairly well built. I have no outstanding issues to convey with the gun. When you say SOC 16, do you mean the G&G model? If so, they are same internally. As a safety measure I would suggest you re-shim, or get a professional to re-shim, the gearbox. Overall, I think it is a very solid gun and would recommend it.

  • Thanks for the fast reply and yeah sorry i did mean the G&G Socom sorry.

  • Your welcome, glad I could help!

  • Just thought I would let you know. I found your first video on the G&G M14 so informative I actually went out and bought one for my self and love it . Keep up the good work

  • Thank you!
