Hate on science and "the medical community" and then goes on to build your training on top of principles given to us by "the medical community". Laughable.
Also, watch them arms. They're obviously more worked than the rest of you. Get some lat training and calf raises in on top of the quad workout with the bike to get a more aesthetic balance in distribution of muscle mass.
sorry but what a dumb way to measure your heart rate...everytime you multiply you also multiply the error... ie measure pulse for at least 30 seconds and multiply by 2 which will give you heart rate ~+/-4, multiplying by 6 will leave you way out hence you got 40, cause your heart rate aint 40 bud. thanks.
when you are doing the "power / high intensity bit as you come out of the seat to put max power thought the pedals you should be forward slightly so you use your body weight to move the bike aswell so you can go faster and harder for longer.
I just started interval training now doing 1 minute sprints ~450 watt interspersed with gentle riding ~130 watt. I looked into intervals as I was wondering about how the pros got better as I'm stuck at about the 280watt doing steady state work and fast rides. (While I can overtake most recreational cyclist I'm 60% of a pro)

@rgaff100 wrong. HR drops very very quickly. if you count it for 30s, there will be a very big margin of error. don't do that.
best thing is to count the HR for 10 seconds and then x6.
btw - my resting hr is in the 30s, but not standing up.
